I actually felt really sorry for her being sat next to Galloway in the young voters debate. You could see her cringe when George referred to her as a colleague.

TeamScotland · 14/09/2014 21:11

squoosh I'm not on her side but think that Ruth Davidson has really smartened up her act in the last few weeks. Realistically her party will never be popular in Scotland whatever happens.

I'm a yesser but used to not be able to look at Nicola Sturgeon, she got on my nerves, big style. Now I tune in if I know she's going to be debating. She's obviously smartened up her act too. I'd go as far as to say I like her and really rate her as a politician.

flippinada · 14/09/2014 21:12

BogQueen I would not be remotely surprised if they did.

The 'relationship'(can't think of a better word to use) between Salmond and Murdoch reminds me of Blair and Murdoch. I don't think that's a good thing.

PhaedraIsMyName · 14/09/2014 21:12

There have been incidents of children well under 16 being registered to vote.

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 14/09/2014 21:12

I'm dreading the sun coming out for yes.

NCforAye · 14/09/2014 21:12

Shock
NCforAye · 14/09/2014 21:13

(At 13 more of these appearing in 4 days!)

SantanaLopez · 14/09/2014 21:13

23 00 hours when it gets released....? I can't wait that long Shock

NCforAye, I agree with you on that. There wasn't that much between the Tories and the SNP in 2011.

Fontella · 14/09/2014 21:13

Nope never found it and now the bloody daughter had just rang for me to go and pick her up, so I'll have to rely on you all here for updates.

Ruth Davidson - is she the one who was on the debate the other night, with the teenagers with Galloway, Sturgeon and some bald fella?

If so, I was impressed with her as well. Hadn't realised she was Conservative.

TeamScotland · 14/09/2014 21:14

rita agree that The Sun coming out for yes will do us no favours.

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 14/09/2014 21:14

PhaedraIsMyName There have been incidents of children well under 16 being registered to vote.

Do you have links to any of that those reports also the people getting several votes?

PhaedraIsMyName · 14/09/2014 21:15

I can't bear to listen to Nicola. Personally I find her even more irritating than Salmond.

PhaedraIsMyName · 14/09/2014 21:16

Yes I do but as they are in The Telegraph you probably won't believe them. I'll see if I can find online links

AnnieHoo · 14/09/2014 21:16

Yes fontella that's her. She's good at debate. V clear thinking and respectful.

StatisticallyChallenged · 14/09/2014 21:16

It is worrying, I had someone tell me they'd received 7 polling cards

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 14/09/2014 21:17

I really rate Nicola, have been impressed by Ruth, actually liked Anabell Goldie, can't stand johann but isn't it great to have so many women in powerful positions tp choose from?

OneNight · 14/09/2014 21:17

I think that there is much concern generally about possible voting irregularities. (I have had people volunteer these concerns to me.) In the event of a close vote either way that could stir up unneeded trouble.

NCforAye · 14/09/2014 21:17

I think there should be an enquiry into result if it's a yes tbh.

With a vote as close as this is likely to be accusations of fraud and requests for a re-count could be thrown around on both sides - why should a "yes" result be inherently more suspicious?

TeamScotland · 14/09/2014 21:19

agree Rita

There was a no called Kezia on one debate. I liked her so much, I wished she was a yes Grin

Cambiodenombre · 14/09/2014 21:19

Aren't the polling cards just a way of quickly ID'ing someone. Ie you vote and your name is crossed out/ticked so you can only vote once. It's the postal votes that can be troublesome if you get multiple, although assume they too have an identifier on so you can check duplicates?

I reckon both sides are keeping quiet until results and then the losing side will cry foul

NCforAye · 14/09/2014 21:19

StatisticallyChallenged

Are these for postal votes or for poll-booth voting? Presumably even if you get multiple cards you couldn't go in more than once, could you?

Whichever way it goes, I really, really worry about either the suggestion or the accusation of fraud. Let it be over and done with cleanly!

NCforAye · 14/09/2014 21:19

(by "the suggestion" I mean evidence for the reality of).

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 14/09/2014 21:19

Bit does that translate to them being able to vote 7 times? Surely the polling station would notice? Or do you mean 7 postal votes?

Phaedra I'm asking for links, I'm interested in a story you've recounted and would like to read more. Calm down with the snapping

NCforAye · 14/09/2014 21:20

The print version says a bit more about it and also mentions there seem to be more 16-17 year olds in Dundee than might have been expected.
