earth so sorry. Hope to see you back soon. I know how you feel. But not is all lost. I'm still pretty sure of a no vote on Friday. Talked it through with DH who gave an outsiders opinion and it really helped. Would explain but have a baby to persuade to sleep!

AnnieHoo · 14/09/2014 20:27

EarthWindFire thank you for going out and campaigning today - it must have been v moving .Thanks

Don't worry about that poster on the other thread!

flippinada · 14/09/2014 20:27

I know this thread has been running a while and I'm very late to the party on this but I hope no-one minds if I join in?

Haven't read all the way through the thread; very brriefly I'm an undecided who is currently leaning to a no vote for a variety of reasons.

StatisticallyChallenged · 14/09/2014 20:27

Don't let it get to you EarthWindFire. Smile

WildThong · 14/09/2014 20:28

Welcome flipp bring a tin hat and a sense of humour.

cedricsneer · 14/09/2014 20:28

Murdoch is really pissing me off now. Like some ancient puppeteer bestowing us with the wisdom of his totally ambiguous tweets and reccying Scotland for the word on the street. He is loving every minute...

StatisticallyChallenged · 14/09/2014 20:28

Welcome Flippinada, you are absolutely welcome Smile. Good time to join, newish thread! Any big issues for you?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 14/09/2014 20:30

EarthWindFire - the whole debate has made me ill - my anxiety levels are through the roof, my depression is back, I am having anxiety dreams and nightmares, if I manage to get to sleep at all, and my IBS has flared up - and the stress of the referendum is to blame. I've been in tears over it, so I sympathise.

moggiek · 14/09/2014 20:30

If only Cameron hadn't ruled out Devo Max (sighs wistfully) ...

WildThong · 14/09/2014 20:31

Elaine Smith now playing the puir wee victim card
Everyone is biased against us...how did this Yes campaign ever survive, everyone is against us...

Ruth Davidson is pissing all over her tbh

livingzuid · 14/09/2014 20:32

flippinda where to begin :) i haven't seen anything in the yes camp to persuade me I'm wrong, and when I get to my laptop I will condense my thoughts into short points.

Very proud to be voting no though.

OneNight · 14/09/2014 20:33

I know those feelings SDTG. I have decided that I shall work hard until Thursday, vote late and then head to bed with a bottle and a good book. I'll wake up to whatever the future shall hold on Friday.

Fontella · 14/09/2014 20:34

I wish I could watch it. How do I get BBC Scotland on my telly?

Can't watch on the computer as my player thingy is out of date.

WildThong · 14/09/2014 20:34

Ooh, Nick Robinson being slaughtered by Hosie live on TV. Surely not on?

flippinada · 14/09/2014 20:37

Thanks *wild, I have the sense of humour and I'm sure I could fashion a tin hat out of something in my kitchen :).

Statistically thank also for the welcome.

My big concern (certainly one of the biggest) is....there is just too much we don't know. Especially about the currency issue. Lots of grand pie in the sky ideas with no concrete information about they will be achieved.

I'd say my views chim with cedrics.

prettybird · 14/09/2014 20:40

Good to see you again SDTG Smile

We've mostly been civil on here. Smile

NCforAye · 14/09/2014 20:41

flippinada

Hello! Smile

In the interests of full disclosure, I am a firm Yes voter, but I've been trying to collect links that might answer the frequently-expressed wish by a lot of undecided voters for more information, which are listed here:

womenforindependencenefife.weebly.com/blog/many-questions-a-few-answers

I don't know if you feel that you need more info or if at this stage it's more a case of ruminating on the issues, but anyway, I thought I'd link in case it helped.

May I ask what are the reasons for you currently leaning to no?

OneNight · 14/09/2014 20:41

I may have said this before.

Lots of grand pie in the sky ideas with no concrete information about they will be achieved

An accountant friend of mine commented 'Their figures are mince.'

TeamScotland · 14/09/2014 20:41

Anyone wanting to give predictions for Friday?

I think 60/40 to yes

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 14/09/2014 20:42

SDTG Flowers I am so sorry you are feeling like that. Do you think it will be better for you on Friday once it's over, either way?

EarthWindFire I hope you are feeling better tomorrow. They're a right couple of twats on that other thread, don't let them get to you!

Fontella are you freeview/sky/tivo? It's 862 on Tivo

NCforAye · 14/09/2014 20:43

flippinada

Sorry, x-post!

temporaryusername · 14/09/2014 20:43

I'm wading in when I don't know much, but surely it is incredibly short termist, and a misunderstanding of what the referendum is about, to vote yes due to a desire for a particular party or political approach, eg. left wing, less austere etc. This vote will not decide anything about what kind of policies will dominate over the years, could be right wing or left wing.

Also I fear austerity will be on the rise in the event of a yes vote. Scotland would really have to prove itself in terms of no defaulting on debts etc, and possibly adopt certain measures based on EU demands if they apply to join.

I don't understand why the best option if you don't like the way the NHS etc is going, is to leave the UK, rather than try to change or improve things as the UK.

DP is threatening to emigrate if yes is the result. He feels British rather than English and that the country will be destroyed. I don't know how I'll cheer him up if we get left. It feels like being left.

WildThong · 14/09/2014 20:43

Too close to call for me. That's why (as a firm no) I am worried.

flippinada · 14/09/2014 20:43

Thanks also living

I'm just off to read the Carol Craig article linked to upthread. I have a lot of time for her so interested to see what she has to say.

Earth and SDTG I wholeheartedly sympathise Thanks. I feel very stressed and anxious about this as well. It's troubling me a lot and has affected my sleep.

frankie80 · 14/09/2014 20:44

teamscotland I think the result will be much tighter than that
