to not find the toddler swearing funny?

The ice bucket challenge video. (Don't think I have seen a thread about it)

I just don't find it funny and I think it's quite disgusting that a child of that age (no older than 4) would say "fucking hell"

So what exactly do you think they dubbed it with? The family don't exactly come across as like techno brains, how would they create a kids voice?

I bet the little girl has sat there and watched the rest of her family and their friends doing this, bet they all said "fuckin' hell" after it and she's just copying, she even has the intonation just perfect. I don't even reckon she's particularly articulate for a 3 year old, most never stop talking at that age, she's probably older than she looks, age 3 isn't a toddler 1-2 is a toddler.

You don't have to be a techno brain these days to do it! Mr Arsed (who IS a techno brain) has pointed out that the voice quality is totally out of keeping with the outdoor background. And any old amateur PR person could have cobbled this together. And you are making one huge assumption about the family (assuming they are not out of central casting anyway).

Enjoy....but don't get upset about it people, is what I'm saying.

And Devil if only my menstrual cycle were not a thing of ancient history I would be right there with you.

EverythingIsAwesome · 28/08/2014 10:29

Her mum is called Demiiey. Grandad Gary is 33. My judgy pants are hoiked so high!

AccidentallyInLove · 28/08/2014 10:29

It's disgraceful and her parents should be ashamed, not putting it online.
I don't understand those that find it funny. Whether it's your child or not, it's still a little girl who should never have heard that kind language.

thelmachicken · 28/08/2014 10:31

My ds's can dub a video. There are apps that help you to do all sorts of 'techno brain' stuff.

LittlePeaPod · 28/08/2014 12:09

Let's hope it is a fake because if not those parents are vile!

miffybun73 · 28/08/2014 12:11

YANBU. Really sad :(

wannaBe · 28/08/2014 12:14

the grandad can't be the biological grandad though can he?

I reckon the granny will be on the next series of celeb bb and the child will be on bgt. Grin after they've all appeared on Jeremy kyle...

LittlePeaPod · 28/08/2014 12:33

My judgy pants are so high I am starting to get fractions burns. Grin

LittlePeaPod · 28/08/2014 12:34

Friction not fractions. Ha ha ha

HaroldLloyd · 28/08/2014 13:37

If they see dubbing it they are just using the child for some clicks which I think is crap as well.

BuzzardBird · 28/08/2014 13:49

I immediately saw it was dubbed, if you look at the child's mouth it hardly opens at all when speaking the nominations and when she is supposed to shout "fucking hell" the mouth hardly moves.

Nancy66 · 28/08/2014 14:15

no, I don't think it's dubbed. some kids swear, especially ones who hear that sort of language day in day out as this kid must

Impala77 · 28/08/2014 17:41

The saddest thing is that the parents, grand parents are getting publicity from it!! What has happened to us all, that we want to see/read about these people!! Cheap journalism, they'll probably get a reality show out of it. I despair. If it's dubbed, they've still gotten what they wanted out of it haven't they?

KanyeBeArsed · 28/08/2014 18:03

How on earth do you come to the conclusion that 'this one must'? Because she has young grandparents? Because she comes from the Midlands? Sheeesh. Could those judgey pants be hoiked any further up do you think? But as far as I can tell, she is NOT swearing: the video has pretty obviously been manipulated.

Someone is having a little fun with us, that's all.

Sp1rals · 28/08/2014 18:04

If you read the full article updated you will see that the whole situation is exactly as you would expect.

KanyeBeArsed · 28/08/2014 18:05

btw Impala I agree that even the dubbing is a little bit of an iffy thing to do, but there is no evidence that her family did it. I am pretty convinced it's a little bit of media tomfoolery. What with the Middle East etc the silly season has come a little late, but it has come!

Linky-poo Sp1rals ?

WaltJesseMikeGus · 28/08/2014 18:16

What?! It's not dubbed.

it hasn't 'obviously been manipulated' - you just have a theory it has.

I don't agree. I just think she's a good from a family where they use a lot of bad language.

KanyeBeArsed · 28/08/2014 19:03

Well this is true, but it's based on the fact that it looks and sounds dubbed (the sound quality is entirely out of keeping with the background and her mouth seems pixelated) And nothing in any of the online articles I have read indicates otherwise (including those highlighted above...thanks for those)

However, all good not so clean fun. Or should that be all girl clean fun. (oooh below the belt and I can bleeding well talk!)

WaltJesseMikeGus · 28/08/2014 19:41

Why would her grandparents go on to be recorded and say to the child, you know you said a bad word.

In the news I'm sure people have more experience at editing and knowing when a video has been manipulated Kanye

The grandparents and parents got a massive backlash from posting this and their parenting skills were questioned. Why not just say - calm down guys, it was dubbed and of course our 3 year old doesn't say fuck.

OP posts:
ACheesePuff · 28/08/2014 21:16

Watched it a few times and still can't see the 'obvious' dubbing. The girl's voice probably gets clearer towards the end as she runs towards the camera.

TBH, I am more concerned about a 3 year old sucking juice from a bottle than her language.

LittlePeaPod · 28/08/2014 21:49

Because all those media experts working in that environment for years, editing day in and day out have been fooled! However, here on MN we know our stuff. Wink Grin
