to go back the hospital?

I am 40+12 and yet one more night of absolutely fuck all happening has tipped me over the edge. I am sick of being patient.

I am booked for induction on Wednesday (my choice - I wanted to give the baby the chance to come spontaneously).

My parents leave today not having met their new grandchild Sad . I will have precisely no other visitors when the baby does arrive.

I have felt a reduction in movement since yesterday which my mother assured me was him getting ready to come imminently but that everything online says not to accept as normal.

DP was in a cycling accident on Friday and has fractured his wrist and needs surgery this weekend which means I will be totally alone with no help with DD and a brand new baby in the first days of his life.

I woke up today and burst into tears.

AIBU to go to the Maternity Assessment Centre without ringing first (the person I spoke to last time was so stupid she couldn't manage to write my name down after THREE attempts) and have them check the baby is ok?

Also can I ask for a sweep there?

I had one a week ago on Friday which did nothing.

Sorry for rambling. It's hard to type in a phone through tears.

Can anyone offer me any experience or advice?

Exciting

I carb loaded in early labour. My body was craving pasta!!

Hey... get some sleep!!!

Sirzy · 11/08/2014 21:38

Couple of pads in the last half hour - I would be ringing the hospital for advice

AtYourCervix · 11/08/2014 21:39

Gunge more likely to be gunge. But if it is watery get it checked.

DIY sweep? Have a furtle. And loads of sex.

Sounds promising OP! So exciting :):)

MrsTerryPratchett · 11/08/2014 21:48

Have a furtle? Is that a MW term? Grin

You know I'm just marking my place, right?

Blondieminx · 11/08/2014 21:50

Oooh fingers crossed this is it!

I totally sympathise, I was overdue with DD... pretty much 24hrs after the bloody snot gunge "mucous plug" I was holding her in my arms, I hope Baby Bunny arrives soon for you!

onedogatoddlerandababy · 11/08/2014 21:50

Yup, think I'd also check with hospital re going through 2 pads in 30 mins. Could be your waters going mixed with plug. Though, clear is good...

I'm almost hoping my 7 mth old stages another awake protest from 11-2 so that I can check for updates. Almost.

Blondieminx · 11/08/2014 21:51

MrsTP that expression made me GrinGrinGrin too!

naturalbaby · 11/08/2014 21:54

Loving the advice from AtYourCervix!
I was about to log off but may now need to stay up and see if LazyBunnyBaby is on his way.

Munxx · 11/08/2014 21:56

With my first I went through a pack of maternity towels before the birth due to trickling waters!

Good luck xx

Munxx · 11/08/2014 21:57

I apologise profusely for the kisses....

Excitement?

LRDtheFeministDragon · 11/08/2014 22:00

Aw, I've not seen a proper labour thread for ages!

Good luck, I hope the bouncing etc. does the trick. That or sniggering at AYC's use of the word 'furtle' should do it.

Changeitplease · 11/08/2014 22:01

Good luck

NacMacFeeglie · 11/08/2014 22:01

Might be your fore waters bunny and your hind are still intact. Sounds like things are happening though Smile

PacificDogwood · 11/08/2014 22:04

Oh, good luck

I feel your pain re overdueness, but it sounds like something is happening at last…
Are you sure your skirting boards don't need dusting?
Or floors scrubbing?

I hope LazyBabyBunny will be as zen as he is just now once he has arrived.

AtYourCervix · 11/08/2014 22:06

DD2 was 13 days late. Longest 2 weeks of my life.

Wake me up when you crank up a gear and start huffing.

WienerDiva · 11/08/2014 22:08

Have a furtle sounds much nicer than having a rummage.

Sounds like waters and gunge, and you were already 1-2cm this morning. My dm was like that and when she got her first "pain" she raced the hospital and was told she was 8cms!

InkleWinkle · 11/08/2014 22:08

I love a live birth thread!

Wishing you lots of love & quickness Smile

MarlenaGru · 11/08/2014 22:09

Two babies both 9 days late. Second one arrived 8 hours from first contraction so hope you have a baby very soon. Feeling very nostalgic that six weeks ago I was cuddling my newborn and waiting for my placenta.

PacificDogwood · 11/08/2014 22:10

I iced DS2's birthday cake while in early labour with DS4 (my waters had broken with a sudden gush whilst I was lying perfectly still flat on my back in bed - go, figure!) as I felt that if DS2's birthday has to be highjacked by the arrival of his little brother than at the very least he was going to have a properly iced cake, goddammit!
Had a fabulous and quick, enjoyable labour with DS4 btw.

Get baking?

BunnyLebowski · 11/08/2014 22:15

We're on our way back to the hospital. They're going to confirm if it's my waters and then if I'm still not contracting I can come home for up to 24 hours.

Rather disconcertingly they told me that they are currently not accepting ladies in labour as they're too busy/not enough midwives and if labour starts I'll be redirected to the other hospital in the city Shock .

iwantgin · 11/08/2014 22:19

Ooh sounds like it's all happening now Bunny

good luck!!

WaxyDaisy · 11/08/2014 22:23

From your post at 1935 you are mentally ready to have this baby Smile

I predict you are in labour and will have baby before 7am tomorrow.

Do you think they caught your membranes with the sweep and that's what caused you to spring a leak?

Hoping it all goes well and looking forward to your news.
