I remember a joke from a sit com..." I may not be Miss Wet T shirt but I can carry off a good Damp Blouse!" That's me!

magimedi · 05/08/2014 22:30

At pushing 60 I find another ageist thread bloody depressing.

And no way am I "staying in a box".

FreudiansSlipper · 05/08/2014 22:32

what should we all look to Joan Collins for inspiration once we pass 40 Confused

Floisme · 05/08/2014 22:33

You do realise that older women don't all look the same?

Do you?

We suit different things, you know, a bit like younger women.

combust22 · 05/08/2014 22:34

Ageist shite.

PittTheYounger · 05/08/2014 22:35

I saw a brilliant photo on twitter of her in saint tropez this summer

artfully dishevelled? is that not just hedge backwards with a new name?

OscarWinningActress · 05/08/2014 22:55

I think you can if you're outdoorsy? Think ruddy cheeks, muddy wellies and an artfully non-chic, practical, navy anorak. Also, two or more slobbery dogs.

Yes. Think outdoorsy can work. Unless you're say a camilla a like

she looks great but always very heavily made up and just a tad too neat looking she still has not moved on from 1983 that's her style

but not one I would ever want to try and copy

PittTheYounger · 05/08/2014 23:02

It's her old school attitude that's funny

Plus she's a wig merchant isn't she. like that weird woman on housewives of atlanta

I don't know... Jane Birkin looks pretty good.

LiberalLibertines · 05/08/2014 23:04

I couldn't pull off well groomed even if I could be arsed.

I have a strict wardrobe of jeans, or leggings with short skirts, and converse/boots or sandals, with various tops/t-shirts, I love a good cardi too :)

Hakluyt · 05/08/2014 23:05

Oh, not-a-fucking-gain.

PittTheYounger · 05/08/2014 23:08

I try the Sunday slob wear look sometimes. I just look like white Dee

I am 50 and have a better figure now than I had at 30.

Grin What a Load of old bollocks.
ophiotaurus · 05/08/2014 23:13

I've never seen people with green blonde hair? What is it?

ElizabethArdenGreenTeax · 05/08/2014 23:13

I am an autumn and look terrible in white and always have done.

so the suggested go-to outfit of jeans & white shirt with loafers (?) and a blazer, that looks rubbish on me.

sweetnessandlite · 05/08/2014 23:15

As well as not being able to pull off 'artfully dishevelled', I also think that older women, no matter how great their figures are, don't look quite right looking at you Kylie when they try to dress in an ott sexy way. It ends up looking up desperate and a bit too trying too hard, whereas younger women can pull it off.

Time to change the image.

(I think Madonna has finally come to her senses.)

I do like Kylie and Madonna

PittTheYounger · 05/08/2014 23:15

Who suggested that outfit?

OP posts:
usualnamechanger · 05/08/2014 23:16

Don't think it's an age thing. It suits some people only.

PittTheYounger · 05/08/2014 23:16

Kylie is one step away from proving that however good your legs ...,

I quite like the way Janet Street Porter turns herself out (most of the time).
