Hate going out in it - am too hot, irritable and sweat is pouring within seconds.

Trying to do what shopping I need to first thing - not easy with 2 under 18 months - then staying indoors for the rest of the day.

So depressing.

We're having a lovely noisy thunderstorm right now Smile

WanderingTrolley1 · 25/07/2014 13:56

Lucky you, Ici!

I'm in the front room with the curtains drawn, hoping it's not the start of a migraine I'm getting :(

Yes bring on the crappy drizzle. It'll drive away these bastard flies

jellybeans · 25/07/2014 14:04

Don't mind sunny but this is far too hot and sweaty. Hate it. Prefer winter to this. I would hate to live somewhere hot.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 25/07/2014 14:06

Smiles-do you use jeyes bin powder? Works a treat, you can buy it in tesco.

Smilesandpiles · 25/07/2014 14:07

This is the first time I've ever heard of bin powders, so I'll look it up next time I'm in a Tesco. Thanks Dame .

Coumarin · 25/07/2014 14:15

I think it's slightly cooler outside in the shade but inside there's no air. According to my fan's digital thermometer it's 30 degrees in here. The windows are open as wide as they'll go and I'm in a loose cotton shirt dress but still too hot.

I'd love a storm to freshen things up.

Coumarin · 25/07/2014 14:16

*short

tobysmum77 · 25/07/2014 14:21

yabu

although the main problem with the winter isn't the weather its the constant dark.

I also don't think the hotter the better but it hasn't been that hot.

merlin I don't like cats Grin

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 25/07/2014 14:43

I'm going to Norfolk tomorrow, forecast looks low twenties instead of the 28+ it is here, hooray!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 25/07/2014 14:44

Smiles-there's a nice cotton fresh jeyes one, just sprinkle tons in your bin every few days and no maggots or flies!Smile

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 25/07/2014 14:54

Sky is almost black here now, continual rumbling in the distance and the wind has really got up, looks as though the forecast was right for once.

littlepeas · 25/07/2014 15:04

I hate it too. Autumn is by far my favourite season and I get really excited when it starts getting cooler - prefer Autumn weather, fashion and food! I was born at the end of September and it is usually cooling off by my birthday - so the month of birth theory works for me!

littlepeas · 25/07/2014 15:05

Has anyone mentioned the evil little fuckers (wasps, obviously) yet? That's another black mark against the summer!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 25/07/2014 15:12

Big heavy drops of rain now

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 25/07/2014 15:17

Blazing hot here stillSad

SallyMcgally · 25/07/2014 15:20

Vile vile weather. Made worse by people grinning insanely and saying how bloody marvellous it is. Can't sleep, can't get cool and bloody flies everywhere. At least when it's cold you can get/ keep warm. Nothing you can do to keep cool in this.

Roussette · 25/07/2014 15:26

The answer to the thread title is YES ! (UABU)

It'll be no time before it's deep grey cloud, it's so depressing, and my spirits sink in grey grey grey Britain. Now I look out on my garden in the sunshine and it makes my heart soar (and my temperature!), the butterflies are on the buddlea (sp?), the meat is marinading for the BBQ, the wine is chilled, what's not to like?!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 25/07/2014 15:37

Full on thunderstorm and rain now. Still very muggy indoors though.

Rousette you can have all that on a day when it's fresh and 22C, then it would be perfect. 30C and muggy? Give me the rain instead.

MrsDavidBowie · 25/07/2014 15:40

I am on the Algarve in about 33 degrees. At least I'm by the beach where there's a breeze.
I spend most of the day in the shade.
If I was back in London I would be very unhappy...the pollution and heat brings me out in rosacea. But not here.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 25/07/2014 15:45

Mrs, I'm the same,I think it's the difference between dry great and humidity.

Coumarin · 25/07/2014 16:27

It's not Summer that's the problem. The long days are wonderful. I love sitting out having dinner at 9pm and it's still light. I like having all the windows opening and being able to get laundry dry. Being able to go for long walks without taking coats with us, having picnics, the chilled out vibe, all really, really good things.

It's the bloody heat. Muggy, thick air. Clothes sticking to you. Not being able to risk getting the hair dryer out lest you faint. People getting their bum cheeks and chests out. Lobster pink skin everywhere. Food going off in the 30 minutes it takes you to get it from the market to the fridge. Insects. But mainly the bloody heat.
