I'm just so pissed off with the double standards!

I went into primark and there is a whole wall dedicated to "hide your fat" type underware Shock
and I dont just mean Spanx and the like, there were corset type tops, underware leggings to stop the wobble as you walk, a "no more back fat" vest - I shit you not, that's what it said on the label!! Rows and rows of the same type of fat hiding underware in all different styles and colours.

In comparison the men's underware department consisted of three rails, boxer shorts, briefs, socks and vests Hmm. Its the same in most shops now (although I was pretty shocked and impressed with such a vast range of products of this style)

In summer all over the tv/magazines its advertising how to get a great bikini body, fab abs, summer holiday slim down etc.

Winter its the little black dress diet for the office Xmas party!! -AIMED ONLY AT WOMEN

Aibu to just think FUCK OFF ALREADY?!
I realise this is nothing new BTW. I just had a realisation that things are only gonna get worse and I feel sad that this is the message that my dds are going to get brought up around

I think women are under a lot of pressure to look good at all times. There are many who embrace their bigness or at least, act as though they do.

I no longer read women's magazines due to the cost and the fact that they pull you into a "this is how you should look, dress, live" facade. I have very little disposable income so there is little point in me looking at items I cannot have.

Like a few other poster have said, I am slim but not beautiful. I look good in my clothes and to some extent feel accepted by society.

I have noticed a lot of obese women, many younger than me. I wonder if they want to lose weight but are not willing to change their lifestyle in order to achieve this.

JaneParker - absolutely agree.

It's easier said than done for many. They do want to change their lifestyle to be a healthier weight in many cases but just cannot throw off their addiction to sugar, or donuts or whatever it is because many of those products are as addictive as crack cocaine and operate in the same bit of the brain as drink and cocaine operate. They need to be taught the methods of gradually changing how they eat for life to remove the sugar highs and lows.

(My very weird sentence should have said "A survey done at sperm banks found that women wanted "tall" donors even more than high IQ")
