Teacher present - the horror story

Needtoemigrate · 17/07/2014 14:57

I need to emigrate - seriously. I thought I was super organised, present in, gift bagged and in the corner of my room weeks ago. Dd took in today for her teacher- along with a pair of mislaid knickers tucked nicely in the bag , serves me right for using floor as giant washing basket but oh the shame - especially as the teacher in question is a 25 ish year old male.
My dd is mortified, I could hide forever and still 1 more day of school to go .... Will I be fined if we break up early ??

Thanks OP, it's been a stressful day and I needed that laugh! I'm sure he'll see the funny side too. Either way, it's almost the weekend WineWineWine

Needtoemigrate · 17/07/2014 15:48

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Were they, ya know, CLEAN????

My friend greeted the DCs (male) teacher, who was carrying a big plastic container up the path, with the immortal words, "My, that's a very big lunchbox!"

FriendlyAmoeba · 17/07/2014 15:50

Yes - with a message to say thanks but wrong size

Grin!!

Sounds like a good guy. :)

Needtoemigrate · 17/07/2014 15:51

Ha ha at least I m not the only embarrassing mum. Worn but as clean as they can be. Oh god help please. What if they are all there when I walk in yard tomorrow ?

I accompanied my daughter to John Lewis to return a handbag. Unfortunately she had stuffed it with old knickers to see how it looked when full. The shop assistants face was a picture. (so was mine)

RobinSparkles · 17/07/2014 16:03

This is the best thing I've heard all week!

OP, you're a legend! :o

lettertoherms · 17/07/2014 16:05

You'll know if he's told the story in the staffroom he definitely has if they all start applauding when you walk up to the gates tomorrow.

I would go with big sunglasses, big floppy hat, big scarf, put on a false accent and tell everyone you're the new au pair, Needtoemigrate has taken a new job with very long hours and won't be seen around school anymore.

hotfuzzra · 17/07/2014 16:06

Aaah bless you! Think the best thing you can do is laugh it off and check all bags thoroughly from now on! At least they weren't grim grey grannies!
Bruins that is fantastic!!!

Muskey · 17/07/2014 16:08

Really funny also liked the removal of something big and flappy story. If your dc gets a good school report we will all know why

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 17/07/2014 16:08

Priceless Grin

OwlCapone · 17/07/2014 16:08

worn ??! Shock

Emigrate now!!

RobinSparkles · 17/07/2014 16:11

Bruins, that's also brilliant although at least you don't have to see the shop assistant again!

Needtoemigrate · 17/07/2014 16:11

Even worse 2 of my dc have been taught by him so every Xmas or summer hols I ll ask "the usual"? for present as I found out what he drinks. Oh no will this now be the new "usual"

It really depends whether he found your smalls in his classroom or on the coffee table in the staff room, surrounded by colleagues at break time.... You may have made their day.

hebe242 · 17/07/2014 16:13

I laughed so much I cried! Oh dear he won't forget you and dd.

Needtoemigrate · 17/07/2014 16:13

And how do I tell dh as I am forever nagging him to use the laundry basket instead of floor for his dirty clothes. Karma!!

OP posts:
indigo18 · 17/07/2014 16:17

If you find yourself being pointed out to any staff who don't know you, then he has told! Not there's the remotest chance he would keep quiet. I bet they laughed all day!

Needtoemigrate · 17/07/2014 16:24

I m sure all the staff know me after today. Need time machine if anyone has spare one

OP posts:
ParadoxicalCat · 17/07/2014 16:40

You just made me snort at work! You poor thing! Maybe you should wrap another present for tomorrow with man pants in although-that-could-be-misconstrued
