Why do people keep moaning about it? - I love it!

If you don't like it hide the bleedin' thing, or even easier, just don't read any of the threads - there's 100's of other sections to moan about!

Ooh garlic Hehe, well done!

Smilesandpiles · 10/07/2014 21:52

It depends on my mood to be honest.

Sometimes it depressing, others it's just nasty but sometimes, like tonight, it's funny as hell.

MNers on the whole have a fantastic sense of humour, even if it can be a task finding these threads they do tend to make up for all the nastyness that can be on here.

HavanaSlife · 10/07/2014 21:57

I used to enjoy aibu, lots of funny threads. Now i have a nosey around some days and the majority of posts are full of nasty, aggressive twats who could start an argument in an empty room.

runningonwillpower · 10/07/2014 22:06

On the whole I like it.

For sure, it can get nasty and sometimes the tone is led by the first person who responds to the post.

But a good rule of thumb is, 'don't ask the question if you don't want to hear an honest answer'.

Unfortunately in real life we don't always have the guts to respond honestly so, on an anonymous forum, folks sometimes go overboard.

Vintagejazz · 10/07/2014 22:57

I think there are just some clumsy oafs who plod onto AIBU and kind of spread their heavy nastiness onto threads which would otherwise be kind, friendly, witty, or just bloody bonkers.

scottishmummy · 10/07/2014 23:01

Love it,lively, rambunctious,it's beating heart of mn

Vintagejazz · 10/07/2014 23:02

ps I kind of picture them in heavy gaberdines trying to be 'cool' while the popular 'cool' kids look at them aghast.

andsmile · 10/07/2014 23:04

YABU

SiennaBlake · 10/07/2014 23:04

I am quite amused that some of the posters saying how nasty people in aibu are or how bitchy it can be are quite regularly rude in other sections of MN (and in aibu).

It's a bit odd to complain about something you do Hmm

I hate that kind of snide remark. Just call people on it if you have a problem with them.

Seriously, does anyone have a problem with Sienna pointing to a rude remark they made, in context, and allowing them to try to explain it?

I'm not going to sit and advance search people to find rude remarks they've made ffs Grin

I just think it's funny that people whose names I remember for being quite nasty to people before are posting things about how nasty people can be.

Seriously, if you want to pull me up on something I've said please do so and I'll try and explain why.

It's not really nice to come on a thread and make some vague generalised remark to make everyone feel wrong footed and shifty.

Sienna. Did you report them at the time?
Or you can still report I presume.

SiennaBlake · 10/07/2014 23:15

Oh, I do apologise. I'm only allowed to remember that certain people can be quite cunty for the sake of it if I make a note of the exact date and time of posts that made me realise the fact just in case anyone requires proof in the future? I will bear that in mind going forwards.

I probably reported some, probably didn't report some. Also not noted down anywhere.
