I think I assumed most programmes which have music/songs in them would be listed for royalty purposes and such. So I was surprised to hear it. I can't remember the last time I heard a Gary Glitter song now you mention it.

Oh I cant remember what I was watching last year and it was a repeat but they had a gary glitter clip in it I was I think it might have been the sky christmas stories the celebs write iywim

Nothing. Same as with Gary Glitter CD's. Individuals will make the choice to play or skip a particular song.
However I doubt any compilation CD's coming out after this will include songs by him.

Five, I suspect they will stop putting his songs on new cd's and eventually his stuff will drop out of circulation. Kids groups will probably start skipping the songs if they have a cd with him on. I wouldn't want to hear him.

It was cringeworthy at best, triggering at worst.

It has just stopped on ITV plus 1 with a notice saying if you can see this legally we are not allowed to show what was on earlier. Please switch to ITV we don't want you to miss out.

My dad used to sing it to me when I was little, he died just over a year ago and the song holds special memories for me.

I also taught the DC's how to dance to Court of King Corraticus last year when we were on holiday. Never going to listen to it again.

I agree with you OP, I would have felt really uncomfortable hearing that in light of the news over the last couple of days

However, these things happen, particularly with repeats I wonder if once they are cleared for broadcast once whether the schedulers pay much attention to the content, they don't make the programmes after all. It's good that they've acted on it once they realised though. There was an episode of the tweenies that received complaints and that has now been 'banned' from airing because it contained a Jimmy Saville impression!

You won't be able to erase him from memory/recording/etc. completely, you know.
