I know this is po faced of me to say: I find this really sad-she's just a tv presenter amongst many. There are really vile obnoxious people on tv -the complaints about this women seem to be she has made up a surname and has a particular hairstyle?

I actually don't give a shit what she looks like - but dear God, she is irritating. What's with the whole 'ditsy old me' act that some female presenters go for?? We're trying to move away from the idea that women don't actually need a brain to get ahead, just a big pair of tits and a nice face - she really isn't helping the cause.

Get her and her equally irritating O' off our screens, is what I say.

Isn't she the one that is always making programmes about her body parts?
I find her a bit self-obessesed.
I get the feeling she's in love with herself.

Cherry Healy arrived on the tv scene via a documentary in which she was filmed giving birth. A one woman precursor to One Born.

I thought the breastfeeding doc she did was actually quite good, to be fair.

Christina Hendricks is an actress on a programme called Mad Men. I envied her thick red hair.......until I discovered it wasn't thick, and it wasn't hers Confused

Me too Coco!

Do like Anna Richardson though, she seems very personable and easy to get along with from my experience watching her on the tv

Flump Noooooooooooo - Joanie doesn't really have luxurious locks????!!!! Next you'll be telling us she's actually a 32AA with a boney ass.

Not to derail - I like Dawn and her husband and think the O'Porter is quite funny, and bit touching

Does anyone think that CH has lost a bit of weight for series 7? Her bottom looks less luscious possibly. Her hair is naturally red though?

'Well done Dawn for not becoming a Cheryl cole/Christine bleakley highly polished and vacuous stereotype.'

Yes! She seems intelligent, has a personality and voices her opinions and feelings.

YANBU. She is deeply smug and annoying. SO glad she doesn't have a column in Stylist magazine any more, she was the worst thing in it by miles....

I really like her. I like Cherry too. Maybe because I am in a similar age group to them...I don't know, but I do like them both. I enjoyed Dawn's 'Dawn goes...' series. Yes ok, not very highbrow telly but I like that. I want Cherry's wardrobe and diet willpower.

I really am glad I'm not a woman in the media. Can't believe that people can be so personal over a chosen name or hairstyle! I felt bad for her when was on 8 Out of 10 Cats and people were tweeting her for having shit hair… Do people tweet Sean Lock et al. about their hair? It's shallow and reductive to distil a woman's appeal down to her appearance.

I also like Cherry Healy, Claudia Winkleman and Dawn O'Porter. And even if I didn't, I still couldn't bring myself to be irritated by a fringe.

Who is she? I've never heard of her.

Ohmy it's true I'm afraid. Her real hair is quite thin (but still radiant red!)

I always wondered why there were no big stars out there with thin, crap hair like mine.......now I know!

As irritating as she is, she is a symptom not a cause of the sexism in the TV industry where women are hired on the basis of looks not talent. Her looks and her lifestyle are the sole reason she is on TV in the first place.

Ask yourself this, would an ordinary looking woman with a paper thin CV like Dawn Porter, Cherry Healey or Stacey Dooley be hired to front lifestyle documentaries on major TV channels?

Every hour of TV filled with guff like Dawn Porter pretending to be a lesbian for a bit is an hour where proper female journalists and filmmakers with stellar CVs and years of graft behind them making prorammes about important stuff aren't getting on air.

In about 10 years time Dawn Porter will be moaning about wanting to be taken seriously as a documentary film maker and it being hard for women over 40 in the media when she is booted out for someone younger and perkier. But neglecting to mention she was happy to be hired on the basis of her looks in the first place when other worthier but less conventionally attractive women were passed over.
