Asos? I had wondered, a bereft girl posted on facebook something about not being able to do her shopping

Bunbaker · 21/06/2014 23:06

It was on our local news this evening. Apparently it was deliberate.

HoneyDragon · 21/06/2014 23:08

Bloody hell that's horrendous. And it was arson too it appears. Sad

BikeRunSki · 21/06/2014 23:09

It started popping up on local news this morning, now saying deliberate

It's only "stuff" though isn't it?

Bunbaker · 21/06/2014 23:11

Waves at BRS. It is a huge employer in the area so I hope they can get back to speed soon.

AuntieStella · 21/06/2014 23:11

Article from BBC.

No-one injured.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 21/06/2014 23:11

I hadn't heard about this. Asos have been in financial trouble for a while, this will be a massive blow to them :(

Annunziata · 21/06/2014 23:12

It's only bags and shoes!

grobagsforever · 21/06/2014 23:12

YABU

EverythingCounts · 21/06/2014 23:13

I assume they're insured.

Willyoulistentome · 21/06/2014 23:14

Ffs

ilovesooty · 21/06/2014 23:16

It's only stuff for heaven's sake. Be glad no one was hurt and save your angst for any employees whose income might be at risk.

picnicbasketcase · 21/06/2014 23:16

You can get a little too involved with bags and shoes, IMO. It doesn't affect you, unless you were waiting for an order or something. It's just some stuff. The main thing is that nobody was hurt.

FiveFingerDeathPunch · 21/06/2014 23:17

really
I hope no one (you know a person) was hurt,
but being upset about things.........

BikeRunSki · 21/06/2014 23:18

No one injured
Just bags and shoes etc - stuff that no one even had yet, so there's not even any sentimental attachment

As Bunbaker says, the only thing to get upset about really is the impact on employment in the area. ASOS are a huge employer. I am often near by for work, and the commuter traffic coming out of ASOS is huge!

Smilesandpiles · 21/06/2014 23:18

They will be insured. However, wether they get a pay out something else altogether. Espcially considering they are in financial trouble AND it was arson.

They'll be waiting a hell of a long time before any payout from anyone.

No one was injured but there'll be a few jobs lost now.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 21/06/2014 23:20

Huh?
It's just stuff. They will be insured, presumably. I mean, it's a terrible waste and a shame but not worth getting upset about.

SantanaLopez · 21/06/2014 23:21

It's just stuff!

The loss of jobs is terrible.

twistedsista · 21/06/2014 23:29

Everything in our homes is just stuff, stuff is pretty important in life!

Are you sure they were in trouble? There stuff is pretty klassy

OP posts:
Bunbaker · 21/06/2014 23:31

I didn't realise that they were in financial trouble. It isn't looking good then. Think of all the job losses.

ilovesooty · 21/06/2014 23:33

You seem to have a bizarre set of priorities quite frankly.

The economic welfare of the employees matters. The stuff doesn't.

KnackeredMuchly · 21/06/2014 23:34

Tsk, YABVU.

BikeRunSki · 21/06/2014 23:40

A lot of the "stuff" in people's homes is important, yes. But ASOS was full of parcels that hadn't gone anywhere yet. No one loved their new top; got married in that dress; looked amazing in that shade of blue; got their first maternity dress from there. The stuff in ASOS wasn't part of anyone's life yet.

ilovesooty · 21/06/2014 23:44

And people with no jobs in economically deprived areas tend to be limited in their ability to buy "stuff".

Think about it, OP.
