Some of the tweets about this have been hilarious. I didn't realise how just how many shallow people there out there, they need to get their priorities in order.

ilovesooty · 22/06/2014 10:22

I never mentioned rape in the Congo - that was someone who agreed with your shallow distorted sense of priorities.

Try reading a bit more carefully.

Singlesuzie · 22/06/2014 10:54

Yup. This^

It is shoes and bags. Bits of plastic and metal.

Come on OP, you're just annoyed you cant use your voucher arent you? Grin

"Support the lovely people of yorkshire" Hmm

twistedsista · 22/06/2014 11:16

Gosh if your not into fashion fair enough, but don't come and call me shallow because I like to dress well.

ilovesooty · 22/06/2014 11:21

You just aren't getting what people are saying are you?

scottishmummy · 22/06/2014 11:22

I'm not sad about the products as such, but it's dreadful for the workers and owners
Apparently arson

pictish · 22/06/2014 11:22

Yabu...they are shoes and bags. Feel sad about human rights atrocities instead OP. There are plenty to choose from. Really.

Bunbaker · 22/06/2014 11:26

I like to dress well, but am probably not very fashionable. I am also not the age demographic that asos is aimed at, so I can't understand why anyone would get upset at a lot of disposable fashion items going up in flames.

However, I am concerned at the economic implications for the local community.

twistedsista · 22/06/2014 11:29

Don't try to dictate to me what I can feel sad about.

I dropped my 99 whippy yesterday, that also made me sad but that doesn't mean I'm not sad about more serious things happening.

Ok. You got us. Wind up.

twistedsista · 22/06/2014 11:39

It isn't a wind up, I'm genuinely a bit upset about the fire. The site is still offline now :(

Sad

I know, it's devastating. How long do you have to wait to use your voucher. You should complain. No-one should have to go through what you are. Do you have RL support? (((Hugs)))

Chippednailvarnish · 22/06/2014 13:23

What are you? 13?

WandaDoff · 22/06/2014 14:40

Oh you poor thing [sadface]

Not being able to buy clothes from one website on a Sunday afternoon.

I really reeeeallly feel for you.

I'm so upset I need to have a lie down actually.

*On a more serious note I feel awful for the families that are going to have to try & cope without that wage. Sad

WandaDoff · 22/06/2014 14:43

I was gutted when the Ashton & Parsons factory burnt down.

Hundreds of teething babies that had to do without their magic powder

Deverethemuzzler · 22/06/2014 14:51

'Smell of burning plastic'

Seriously though, I hope people don't lose their NMW jobs.
Its shit that Firefighter's lives are put at risk because of arson.

But ASOS sells throwaway fashion so most of the stuff that went up in flames would be in landfill by September anyway.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 22/06/2014 14:51

I'm in Yorkshire, but I'm not lovely. I do feel very sorry for the people who worked in the warehouse - Barnsley needs all the jobs it can get, but the stuff? Meh.

Trillions · 22/06/2014 15:53

Andrewofgg what? Don't tell me what to say! The BBC article uses the expression "distribution centre" several times and it is a perfectly valid term meaning something more specific than warehouse. Look it up if you don't understand it.

KellyHopter · 22/06/2014 16:00

Wtf are the lovely people of Yorkshire going to do without your support/voucher??

What a horrible mess Sad

Bunbaker · 22/06/2014 16:17

The term distribution centre is used a lot for warehousing these days. I work for a large wholesaler and our warehouses are called distribution centres. Nothing is called what it basically is nowadays, it always has to have a fancy name.

Andrewofgg · 22/06/2014 16:26

Well trillions I did say Please - my DM trained me well - and the BBC used both. No offence intended.

It's just that I don't like rat-catchers becoming rodent elimination operatives! Grin

If the OP is not winding us up she is up there with the Minister who called the end of Farepal a "national emergency".

twistedsista · 22/06/2014 20:29

It is still down, twitter is saying 30% of stock is being thrown out!

Bunbaker · 22/06/2014 20:59
