If a women walked around with no top on I suspect she would get arrested for indecent exposer.

So why can men go around without a vest or t-shirt on.

Like others, I don't want to see half naked men, women or children.

It is interesting though the sheer number of men who happily strip off and saunter about while women ... don't. I am a reasonably normal weight but too self conscious to wear a bikini.

Yes Hmm I do.

I repeat - I find it crude and vulgar, there is absolutely no need for it.

Latara · 08/06/2014 17:20

Well today I saw a lady walking in the town wearing.... a swimsuit and flip flops. She didn't look bad, it was just totally inappropriate for anywhere but the beach!

To even things out I saw a lad strutting round with just shorts on, again inappropriate for town IMPO.

MrsCripps · 08/06/2014 17:42

My FIL used to sit in the garden just wearing shorts until the day that DS ,who he was holding, tried to latch on ... Grin actually that should be evil Grin
I have never seen a man with such panic in his eyes !

YANBU OP-Our large shopping centre insists they put their shirts on.

Itsfab · 08/06/2014 19:01

Our local centre and asda also has signs saying men must wear tops.

pictish · 08/06/2014 20:23

I agree AICM.

SanityClause · 08/06/2014 21:11

I am delighted to see fat, saggy, wrinkly women and men with no top on..... on the beach. I love to see people wearing swimming costumes whatever their size and shape. I am always a bit amazed at the large sizes it is possible to buy swimming costumes in. Am
And I ink it's great.

But I dislike seeing people of any size and shape topless on the street, or in a shop.

I don't know why it is, but there you go.

thebodylovesspring · 08/06/2014 21:16

Totally depends on the bloke. Beckham should be made to go around topless.

chocolatemademefat · 08/06/2014 23:30

I hate to see a fat hairy topless man wandering around. But he's married to me and pays the mortgage.

thebodylovesspring · 09/06/2014 00:06

Grin ^^

Eliza22 · 09/06/2014 08:19

I think it looks common. A bit rough, really. wearing my judgey pants this morning Grin

MacenroeTheBoatAshore · 09/06/2014 18:47

apparently another heatwave summer this year. great. -not.
for a million reasons!

IscreamUscream · 09/06/2014 19:28

There is a parent Dad that walks into the school playground with his top off and it slung over one shoulder to collect his dd and then walks home with her still without his top on. He always has those shell suit tracky bottoms on. I feel sorry for her she must be mortified cos Brad Pitt he isn't, and his gut is massive. He's always sweating and out of breath. Maybe that's why he has his top off!

FangGirl · 09/06/2014 20:37

Urgh...it is horrible. My very hard working Dad used to collect me at the bus stop at weekends completely naked waist up and I routinely DIED of embarrassment. I could feel eyes burning holes into my back...Really men, put it away!

ICanSeeTheSun · 09/06/2014 20:39

More men running around 1/2 naked today.

Seriously sort it out.

Billygoats · 09/06/2014 20:47

It seriously does not bother me to see a topless man in the street. Why is it so offensive? It's just a body.

I agree in a supermarket where there is uncovered food around there is a hygiene risk if people were topless and sweaty.

Larimarbleu · 09/06/2014 20:58

There's a group of builders fround our way that were all topless today. There was ONE that looked fit, but the rest all had moobs and beer guts.
Moobs + Beer Gut = Keep It Covered.
On the other handIf you're fit and look like David Beckham then you can do what you want.
We don't mind.
(just not round the shops)
.....
unless you're David Beckham.

whynowblowwind · 09/06/2014 21:40

Some of us DO mind, or rather, feel it is inappropriate regardless of whether the man in question is young, old, handsome or ordinary.

FangGirl · 09/06/2014 22:04

I'm sorry but most men look simply gross half naked. I DO NOT want to see it yuk!

Southeastdweller · 09/06/2014 22:09

Interesting that nobody here has admitted that their DP's do it.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/06/2014 22:23

I encounter a lot of part naked bodies at work - because I'm a middle aged female in an NHS uniform , people seem to think I want to see their bodies (I don't)

Years ago, a man came in wearing shorts and shoes. Confused , He didn't have a T Shirt. Imagine how much I had to scrub the chair after Envy vom. Now I would send him away (less assertive then)

A bed-bound patient who I asked to cover herself "Why" she asked. She couldn't see why I didn't want full view.

And men in boxers, not even shorts, boxers are baggy, with a fly and things dangle . There's a "My house I can wear what I like" thing but I don't want to see it. I ask them to drape a towel over , some get quite offended.

I don't think anyone could say that's not a bit weird?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/06/2014 22:26

Grin my DS used to whip his top off on the walk home when he was in Yr 1 (so he'd have been 5-6 ) He was (and still is) so thin, he's best covered .

Now he's an awkward teenager so nothing on show

ICanSeeTheSun · 09/06/2014 22:27

DH wouldn't dare, I would LTB

YANBU - It is digusting ,the only men who strip off around here have hairy large bellies and moobs ,sometimes there is a really shite tattoo as well.I actually have to include my husband who cuts the grass with his belly, psorasis and moobs on display (did not look like this 23 years ago)
Now if the hunky fella from the diet coke break started mowing the lawn and felt the need to undress ........
