If a women walked around with no top on I suspect she would get arrested for indecent exposer.

So why can men go around without a vest or t-shirt on.

Well, be thankful you don't work in a hospital ward....

At the first excuse many of my middle-aged male patients like to sit there in just their boxers - and it's always the fattest, hairiest ones!

Their excuse is that it's 'too hot' - funny how the women manage to keep their modesty covered despite being hot.

I always say, ''don't you want to wear your t-shirt'' (hint, hint) about 5 times but the answer is always ''nah...''

Sparklingbrook · 08/06/2014 10:01

I don't think it is necessary for men to go topless at the first glint of sunshine, whether they have a 6 pack or a beer belly.

I don't want to see their hairy backs/fuzzy nipples while at the shops.
Save it for the beach.

How can they drive as well- seatbelt chafing surely?

Mrsjayy · 08/06/2014 10:17

Yanbu sitting on the beach fair enough walking along the streetvjust put it away

Mrsjayy · 08/06/2014 10:20

On holiday in a brittsh campsite btw there was a man who wandered about in his budgie smuggler s and flip flops all week not what I wanted to see first thing in the morning

pictish · 08/06/2014 10:21

It doesn't bother me, and I don't see the problem.

Do you think all unsightly people should be covered up?

Orangeanddemons · 08/06/2014 10:24

I wAnt to know where you lot are where it is sunny? I peed down here yesterday, and looks pretty bad today Sad

Mrsjayy · 08/06/2014 10:27

Yes piglet all fugly people should go about in sacks so as not to offend

Latara · 08/06/2014 10:28

Bournemouth, Orange, it's very hot here.

Although I haven't seen any topless men in my part of town yet, only at work.

CundtBake · 08/06/2014 10:29

You are soooo not being unreasonable I was saying the exact same thing yesterday!!

It seems so aggressive in an 'I AM MAN' way.

Even if they're gorgeous and ripped I don't think 'phwoar' I think 'put a top on you fuckhead'

And most of the time ITS NOT EVEN THAT HOT

In your own home or on the beach of course is fine.

BlingBubbles · 08/06/2014 10:29

YANBU at all!!

This is something I always noticed when living in the UK, the smallest bit of sunshine and all the guys have the tops off! I don't mind if it's in a park or something but walking down the high street and going into shops - why oh why??? The same can be send about woman though, tiny shorty and tiny tops on people who should not be wearing them at all.

It's been roasting here where we live now for the last few days and guess what no shirtless men to be found on any street. There are however loads of naked ones in the park.... But that's another strong! Wink

Sparklingbrook · 08/06/2014 10:30

It's nothing to do with unsightly. It's about dressing appropriately for what you are doing whatever size/shape/age you are IMO.

Why do you need to have your top off in the shops/walking along the street?

I would find being faced with a bare chested youngster with a six pack in Tesco just as mortifying as an older man with a beer belly.

Latara · 08/06/2014 10:30

Maybe we should introduce Summer Fashion Police, a bit like the police in Iran who tell people their hijab isn't covering them up enough.

Sparklingbrook · 08/06/2014 10:31

No need for fashion police, just common sense police. Grin

Mrsjayy · 08/06/2014 10:33

In Scotland its called taps aff wee bit of sun it brings out the bare chested ususally wearing jeans and no top Hmm

Sparklingbrook · 08/06/2014 10:34

I can't see how much cooler taking your t shirt off actually makes you. Confused

Orangeanddemons · 08/06/2014 10:35

I hate it too, but double hate it when said chests/ bellies are sweaty too

Ijustworemytrenchcoat · 08/06/2014 10:36

I even see men driving around topless, why would you want a seatbelt rubbing around on bare skin?

It's never so hot that a cotton t shirt is unbearable is it?

Sparklingbrook · 08/06/2014 10:39

Exactly trench. 'I am roasting in this thin t shirt, I had better take it off' Confused

KeepingUpAnon · 08/06/2014 10:40

Oh I so get this... at our allotment there are loads of old blokes walking around topless, beer bellies and saggy moobs on show

I don't think it's appropriate for walking down the street or shopping. But I would expect to see men with their tops off at an allotment tbh...it's akin to the beach or garden to me, that out-doorsy space which makes it seem ok.

Applelicious · 08/06/2014 10:41

Flies, Wasps, BO and People Without Adequate Clothing.

I agree. And may I also add the smell of sun cream. I know, I know, it's sensible to wear it but the smell of it combined with sweaty BO, and half naked men in a supermarket. It's all just too much.

Sparklingbrook · 08/06/2014 10:42

Allotments and mowing your lawn-yes I agree Keeping. Outdoors but not in public people filled space.

Hoppinggreen · 08/06/2014 10:42

A couple of men do this at school at pick up - it's a bit grim.
I think the worst one was a the preschool leaving party, totally inappropriate
