To hate the overused MN expression "Are you on glue?"

There's just something really horrible about it....rude and unnecessary.

It also smacks of someone trying to be smart and witty buy just trotting out a line they've been taught.

Equally irritating is "Did you mean to be so rude" because it's so overused and "This too shall pass." is also ANNOYING.

This too shall pass is actually a lovely saying but it's SO overused on here!

I don't mind the glue thing, it's still funny to me as I haven't seen it that much yet.

The "Did you mean to be so rude", isn't irritating to me because it's annoying...it's irritating because it's the most cringeworthy, pathetic excuse for a comeback I've ever heard

But yes, I agree, the stock phrases do get annoying. 'Are you on glue?' wasn't even especially funny on the original thread, and it's not getting any funnier with constant repetition.

What REALLY fucks me off and is common on mumsnet is someone telling a story about something or other (usually a complaint about some random person's behaviour) and posters come on and say things like "well what did they say when you confronted them?" / "what did the bus driver say when you drew it to his attention?" / "what was the response to the complaint you made at reception" knowing FULL WELL from the OP that nothing was said to the offending random stranger/no complaint was made at reception etc.
It pisses me off cos it's so...PA. everyone knows the OP (rightly or wrongly) stayed silent, don't be a PA dick by pretending you thought they'd made a fuss at the time.

Yeah it was being advertised on the right hand side of the page yesterday...a t.shirt with "Did you mean to be so rude" on the front.

The price was about £15 if I remember rightly
