To think the School overreacted in Expelling Pupil and calling Police for a stunt, when a "bollocking would have been enough".

Jacob Dowdle, a year 13 Pupil at Altrincham Grammar school on the last day of term May 16, put a paper plate with whipped cream in to his year heads face.

This was a very "Stupid" thing to do, but no harm was meant or injury caused yet the school called the Police and summary expelled him. The teacher was seeking a prosecution for the stunt, when she was not injured The teacher although upset , should have had the grace to except that it was a poor stunt , ( or like most teachers on the last day taken it on the chin as overexcited students behaviour).

I do think anyone behaving like this should be punished. The only main difference is that I believe it should have been dealt with in house.

Dear goddess, I'm not encouraging him getting pied in the face hard, but it would be perfect karma.

BlueStocking it was that bit that made my jaw drop. Sounds like a terrible place to work judging by the reviews.

Also, the way candidates are dropped if they don't do well in the Snowdon experience. It doesn't sound like there are any clear guidelines to follow, it just depends on how well you are liked.

I doubt it, he's the golden goose at the moment. So that means that some other poor bugger will get the boot. Some of those reviews are dreadful aren't they, one of them states working for Lawrence is more like being in a cult.

Can you imagine going on holiday with your boss, particularly when you know that if you fall from favour then you're out.

Sounds exhausting. Maybe it's not such a prize for Jacob after all.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 03/06/2014 20:39

Actually, having read those reviews, maybe everything has worked out just dandy...Grin

nauticant · 04/06/2014 09:59

Ha, I was just coming here to post the same LumpySpacedPrincess. Being the golden goose at the moment can be a very precarious position when the boss is so capricious.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/06/2014 10:55

You couldn't be more correct, nauticant

After years as professional recruiter myself I've met rather too many Lawrence Jones types. Most present an impressive facade but are perhaps less skilled when it comes to the longer term; they see themselves as a combination of Richard Branson, an SAS captain and Jesus

Any decent business will tell you that their biggest asset is their people, and the best actually mean it. Unfortunately with his type it's all about them, and when the companies go bankrupt - as they often do - everyone's a loser except the boss

Trust me that Jacob will be out of the company once his publicity value is exhausted, and of course that will be everyone else's fault too ...

He's written a new blog!

It's all about forgiveness and not becoming involved in petty disputes.

Is he actually Ricky Gervais' latest avant garde comedy creation?

ilovesooty · 04/06/2014 21:59

I’m a big believer in the benefits of recruiting likeminded people as a way to strengthen company culture

Does that mean he makes a point of employing total tossers?

LineRunner · 06/06/2014 09:04

They all sit being likeminded in the company Toss Tank.

Mmmfishandchips · 22/09/2014 15:02

Yes, lets not blame the crap fathers and husbands, lets blame the women who boot them out.

Mmmfishandchips · 22/09/2014 15:05

bebebringingup · 22/09/2014 16:06

bebebringingup · 22/09/2014 16:07
