To think the School overreacted in Expelling Pupil and calling Police for a stunt, when a "bollocking would have been enough".

Jacob Dowdle, a year 13 Pupil at Altrincham Grammar school on the last day of term May 16, put a paper plate with whipped cream in to his year heads face.

This was a very "Stupid" thing to do, but no harm was meant or injury caused yet the school called the Police and summary expelled him. The teacher was seeking a prosecution for the stunt, when she was not injured The teacher although upset , should have had the grace to except that it was a poor stunt , ( or like most teachers on the last day taken it on the chin as overexcited students behaviour).

Thanks, lumpy, I'll do the same tomorrow.

Reading Jones' blog, I think I'd dislike him even if he hadn't become Jacob Dowdle's new BFF. He comes over as someone who takes himself way too seriously. I wonder if he ever speaks about himself in the third person?

Suffolk. That's a good point because Lawence Jones talks about dealing with incidents internally , clearly if the video is uploaded the incident is no longer an internal matter, it becomes an external matter. It therefore needs to be dealt with externally, not internally has lawence has declared he likes to deal with disputes.

Wow, I feel so sorry for the poor teacher in the middle of this. She must have got such a shock when it happened never mind having to deal with the fuss the perpetrator is making.

He doesn't sound sorry, he sounds 'woe is me'.

Interesting that he 'pranked' a teacher he had a poor relationship with, that's pretty unusual ime and quite telling really.

SuburbanRhonda · 01/06/2014 18:22

I'm puzzled why Lawrence Jones feels it's his place to forgive Jacob Dowdle.

Surely it's the person to whom the wrong has been done who has the power to forgive? Or does Jones think he's God now?

Hmm

That gave me a proper laugh out loud Grin

Nice to hear sienna commenting on how lovely the teacher is. Obviously it would make no difference to my view of how she's been treated.

It doesn't make the offence any better or worse knowing she has a good character, but I'm sure if she didn't then people looking for ways to victim blame would have been all over it.

emotionsecho · 01/06/2014 18:51

It's warming up on that there blog! Call me God Jones is doing a fine job of minimising and altering the events.

ilovesooty · 01/06/2014 18:57

Theat blog and his replies are sickening. It's a long time since I felt so angry.

ilovesooty · 01/06/2014 18:59

And why on earth should the teacher need to "get her self respect back"?

SuburbanRhonda · 01/06/2014 19:03

I can't go back on the blog because if I get angry again I might smash my iPad and I can't afford to replace it.

Does anyone know whether Jones has clarified which of Dowdle's actions he considers "courageous"? Because wasn't that the original reason he offered him the job?

EvilTwins · 01/06/2014 19:06

I went back. Now I am itching to comment. Mostly on LJ's terrible spelling. Also his sanctimonious attitude and irritating habit of throwing cliches around.

Arsehole.

Love the story about how he employed 6 local ne'er do wells who later stole £80,000 worth of stuff, but hey, he's learned his lesson and it made his marriage stronger Confused

I believe it was along the lines of "it takes courage to stand up and do something different" Confused

And why on earth should the teacher need to "get her self respect back"?

What?!?! Angry I must have missed that bit.

smokepole · 01/06/2014 19:08

I think its right I post a couple of comments on Mrs Barratt from asite that is not usually a teachers friend.

Very sarky, funny and very good, if you stay on her good side or else your in trouble!

Very sarcastic, very entertaining , not to strict but not too easy going, gets the French across in the best possible way, a brilliant teacher in every way.

These two posts are from ex pupils on Rate My teacher. If a site that was designed to embarrass teachers. However, Mrs Barratt has very good reviews, not that it makes the attack any worse but at least it shows that Jacob has is own agenda against her.

And the bit about taking the employees to be measured for a suit and a haircut - was that not the plot line of the latest "how I met your mother"? When Barney passed on the play book.

ExBrightonBell · 01/06/2014 19:23

I've been posting on his blog, but I'm going to have to stop soon as he is so flippin patronising and self righteous. Finding ways to wheedle pompous religious anecdotes into each post. And the casual sexism of referring to the "many" women managers as "girls" is astonishing.

emotionsecho · 01/06/2014 19:25

Oh no! He's come out with the 'wisdom to know the difference' quote. Can you imagine working there, I bet it is full of those inspirational posters and reams of management wank-speak.Wink

Some of my comments have mysteriously disappeared.Grin

ilovesooty · 01/06/2014 19:28

I'm glad I don't work for him. I'd sooner rot in a gutter.

luridshorts · 01/06/2014 19:33

"it takes courage to stand up and do something different"

I'd happily do "something different" to that arsehole.

emotionsecho · 01/06/2014 19:34

Is it just me who thinks CMG Jones offered Jacob a job to get his business some recognition and free publicity?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 01/06/2014 19:38

It's a site used to bully teachers online

I'd never heard of Rate My Teacher, so just looked it up. Among the endless crass remarks from our town is one about a teacher nicknamed "Dirty Arab," saying that "he took study leave for 9/11 and never came back"

I've reported it of course, but can anyone tell me just why this repulsive idea is allowed to run??
