@ go back to your constituencies and prepare your breakfast

TheBogQueen · 28/05/2014 10:53

I agree Ed Milliband is just not credible. Sad

My parents are long standing labour voters (mum flirted with the lib dens because she rather liked paddy ashdown) but they do not know who to vote for.

Our politicians are failing us.

FidelineandFumblin · 28/05/2014 10:53

Sorry squoosh I have to correct you there

FidelineandFumblin · 28/05/2014 10:55

the warm beer was real. Revolting stuff Grin

SirChenjin · 28/05/2014 10:56

But what discussion re a way forward has there been from any party?

squoosh · 28/05/2014 10:57

I've always though it sounded vile but some people whimper for it as if it were their mother's own milk.

Huzzah for ice!

TheBogQueen · 28/05/2014 10:59

"Old maids cycling to evensong.."

Didn't john major make a speech along those lines? Am trying to write dissertation so will waste more time trying to find speech.

TheBogQueen · 28/05/2014 11:01

"A country of long shadows on county cricket grounds, warm beer, green suburbs, dog lovers, and old maids cycling to holy communion through the morning mist."

Here we are ...Tory utopia

caruthers · 28/05/2014 11:03

I'm sure the papers are digging furiously for any skeletons in Farage's closet. Hard to imagine he doesn't have any.

Don't you think they've already tried that?

That's the group think that got UKIP there in the first place.

Smear smear and smear again.

It's only going to bolster his popularity.

That one Bog? Brixton hasn't half changed Wink

FidelineandFumblin · 28/05/2014 11:06

Ah X post.

I expect some public-spirited leftish femme fatale will seduce him for the greater good caruthers. I'd do it myself if I wasn't so busy Grin

squoosh · 28/05/2014 11:07

Those poor old maids cycling to communion.

A Saga cruise with some jolly widowers would be a much better idea.

TheBogQueen · 28/05/2014 11:07

Indeed. Better vote for UKIP.

TheBogQueen · 28/05/2014 11:08

Although frankly I'd take Brixton- born john major over any of this current shower irrespective of their political leanings.

FidelineandFumblin · 28/05/2014 11:10

Brixton hasn't half changed

Indeed. Better vote for UKIP.

I meant in the sense that John Major grew up in Brixton. I doubt it was ever a halcyon landscape of cricket grounds and old maids on bicycles.

caruthers · 28/05/2014 11:11

She's have to do it in a pub with a fag hanging out of her mouth :)

TheBogQueen · 28/05/2014 11:17

Oh yes, totally Fideline. Smile This is a utopia which perhaps existed fir a few years in a few English counties post- war.

Not in Brixton. In the 1950s we were inviting people over from the West Indies to come and work in our new welfare state.

That said, my family are from Peckham Rye and my grandmother remembers a canal and flowers, parks and a lovely Georgian terrace with a big back garden. Her father was a bus driver. Those house are probably worth in excess if £1M today. Times have certainly changed in South London.

squoosh · 28/05/2014 11:17

I feel a bit queasy at the thought of seducing Nige. I always imagine his sexual tastes might be similar to Max Mosley's.

FidelineandFumblin · 28/05/2014 11:21

I always imagine his sexual tastes might be similar to Max Mosley's.

Always!? How much thought have you been devoting to the subject Squoosh?

squoosh · 28/05/2014 11:24

Ummmmm, not TOO much. Honest!

He may also like to dress up as Jennings and get a slippering.

I am now shutting down the part of my brain that pictures Nige in sexual scenarios.

FidelineandFumblin · 28/05/2014 11:29

Shock You might want to give it a good scrub first.

TheBogQueen · 28/05/2014 11:30

UKIP's all about suburban hot tubs, vol au vents, swinging and plastic sheeting over the sofa.

SirChenjin · 28/05/2014 11:32

I like a vol au vent - does this mean I have to start voting UKIP?! Shock

squoosh · 28/05/2014 11:34

Yes, a fondness for vol au vents is one of the easiest indicators of latent UKIPetry.

FidelineandFumblin · 28/05/2014 11:34

Actually squoosh it might as well be you who does the seduction, having already gone so far Grin

Bog That's some pretty hardcore dissertation-avoidance youa re engaged in there Wink
