It is over 100 years since a national election has been won by a party other than the Conservatives and Labour.

What's more the UK Independence Party did it by winning seats not just in every region of England but in Wales and Scotland too!

UKIP opinions are the majority - FACT!

Answer my question.
What has colour got to do with this?

Apparently UKIP are no a racist party. So why would the colour of a British citizen trouble them or one of their supporters?

herecomesthesunlala · 27/05/2014 16:41

Answer my question.
What is your issue with non white Britons?
Where do they fit into the whole non racist, just here for the hard working British family deal?

No issue, did i say i had an issue?

OP posts:
herecomesthesunlala · 27/05/2014 16:43

i simply posted a statistical break up of London per the 2011 census - i neither commented on this or mentioned about non-white british people? Being English and being British are not the same thing though are they!

OP posts:
Deverethemuzzler · 27/05/2014 16:44

You obviously have an issue.

Hence your consternation at the FACT that 'White Britons comprise less than half of the total population'

Are you saying my OH and children are not British?

squoosh · 27/05/2014 16:44

' London is one of the few places in the United Kingdom in which White Britons comprise less than half of the total population.'

The above certainly implies you have an issue with non white Britons.

Deverethemuzzler · 27/05/2014 16:45

English and being British are not the same thing though are they!

Ahh I get it. My OH and kids are not English

Tell me again about how UKIP (and you) are not racist.

cardibach · 27/05/2014 16:46

But, OP, Londoners didn't vote UKIP in, did they? SO perhaps they aren't all as bothered by the diversity as you are?

herecomesthesunlala · 27/05/2014 16:47

So it's racist to say you are English, but you can openly celebrate being Spanish, Irish, Turkish whatever? Why is this then?

I have said being English and British is not the same thing, that is not a racist remark, just a fact, why the attack on that one?

OP posts:
badtime · 27/05/2014 16:48

No, the problem is you didn't seem to think it was odd that you were trying to paint a negative picture by pointing out the skin colours prevalent in London. That suggests you have an issue, even if you are not aware of it.

OP, who is more UKIP approved, me or my partner? I am from the UK, as are pretty much all my ancestors, but I am not British, I am from Northern Ireland. My partner is from SE England, but one of his parents is from another European country and the other is from an Asian country, and he is not white. Who is okay to have around? (My accent is pretty strong!) Would you send his parents back where they came from?

LtEveDallas · 27/05/2014 16:49

Oh well, at least it's shown it's true colours (white British natch) now

herecomesthesunlala · 27/05/2014 16:49

"But, OP, Londoners didn't vote UKIP in, did they? SO perhaps they aren't all as bothered by the diversity as you are?"

That was surely because most of the British people in London are not English

OP posts:
Deverethemuzzler · 27/05/2014 16:50

Answer my question OP

Just answer it.

Do you think my OH and children are not English because of the colour of their skin?

squoosh · 27/05/2014 16:50

'So it's racist to say you are English, but you can openly celebrate being Spanish, Irish, Turkish whatever? Why is this then?'

Oh, do you only celebrate white English people?

cardibach · 27/05/2014 16:52

Being English and being British are not the same thing though are they! Only just spotted this. No, OP, some of us are Welsh, Scottish or Irish. Don't you like us either? Or don't you actually know what 'British' means? Are you, for example, spouting racist rubbish without really understanding the terms?

squoosh · 27/05/2014 16:53

'That was surely because most of the British people in London are not English'

Confused

No, they're all from the Isle of Skye!

Of course most British people in London are English!

herecomesthesunlala · 27/05/2014 16:54

I think there is only so much immigration that is benificial for any country, and i believe England has reached this limit. I don't think the doors to our schools/hospitals/housing should be a Euro free for al and i DO think that these should be prioritised for British people who have chipped in over the years

OP posts:
BaldricksTurnip · 27/05/2014 16:54

You're going down a dangerous path OP. You'll be talking about 'racial purity' next, and we all know where that leads. I think we all know that UKIP is comprised of dangerous racists and personally I am ashamed to live in a country where such disgraceful views are being publicly aired with such glee.

herecomesthesunlala · 27/05/2014 16:55

Of course most British people in London are English! - Not according to the last census?

OP posts:
squoosh · 27/05/2014 16:55

Population of England: 53.01 million
Population of Scotland: 5.29 million
Population of Wales: 3.06 million
Population of NI: 1.81 million

gordyslovesheep · 27/05/2014 16:55

That was surely because most of the British people in London are not English what are they all Scottish and Welsh? Wink

everyone voting would have been British and would be living in the wards they were voting in - so obviously not that bothered by all the things your knickers are all twisty over

cardibach · 27/05/2014 16:55

I don't really know the figures, but you said that 37% of the population [of London] were born outside the UK.
So, yes, most Londoners are British, surely?

squoosh · 27/05/2014 16:55

And you persist in claiming that most British people living in London aren't English.

herecomesthesunlala · 27/05/2014 16:56

Do you think my OH and children are not English because of the colour of their skin?

Depends on the colour of their skin? If i had a baby in Jamaica, the baby would still be English and not Jamaican IYSWIM

OP posts:
FidelineandFumblin · 27/05/2014 16:56

Of course most British people in London are English!?

Really squoosh? I don't think so (and as I'm on your side)
