..with all the immigrants who've come to the UK over the past few years?

Given that I suspect you think there are far too many here and that they are a major cause of our current housing and jobs shortage?

Just asking! :-)

For the tenth time I never said anyone was being kicked out!!! I am saying if the UK pulls out of the EU their legal right to remain, from freedom of movement, will no longer exist!

aquashiv · 26/05/2014 19:46

I'm sorry but all those saying that b they n dontn know ukips manifesto yet voted for them. .... What and why did you vote for them? genuine question

Retropear · 26/05/2014 19:47

Oh of course it's jealousy.

We need to stay in a Europe because a few baby boomers have second homes there.Makes perfect economic sense.

The fact they are returning in their droves, many come back to use the NHS anyway and no further generation will have anything like the money or resources to have 1 house let alone an extra holiday home in the sun is neither hear nor there.

But you carry on character assassinating Euro sceptics- it's clearly working.Grin

I for one don't have a problem with that.

We managed quite well before we were inside this European super state and we'll manage again.

RazzleDazzleEm · 26/05/2014 19:48

retro you can have several holiday homes if you want property is cheap in EE

Retropear · 26/05/2014 19:49

Razzle the point is I don't want to and quite clearly many others don't want to either.

caruthers · 26/05/2014 19:49

The party is a vehicle to get us out of Europe.

What did you think the party is designed for?

Europe has an undercurrent of anti EU feeling right now.

WickedWitchoftheNorthWest · 26/05/2014 19:49

Retropear why did you vote UKIP?

Retropear · 26/05/2014 19:51

Razzle have you not heard how hard it is for the maj of British families just to get by at the moment.

I don't think holiday homes are on the cards for many here or in Latvia.Hmm

Retropear · 26/05/2014 19:52

Wicked you clearly didn't read the thread- I didn't.

I voted Green.

RazzleDazzleEm · 26/05/2014 19:52

NoI meant if you sold up here and moved there you could live like a king

TheFairyCaravan · 26/05/2014 19:54

It'll be a lot harder for families to get by when women can be sacked for being pregnant, maternity pay is scrapped and a flat rate of income tax is brought in. Just as long as we keep those immigrants out, hey?

WickedWitchoftheNorthWest · 26/05/2014 19:54

No I read it but didn't hang on your every word. I still don't understand why UKIP voters voted the way they did beyond "immigrants are taking our jobs" but I suppose I won't get answers on this thread. Strange attitude not to look at facts and figures when deciding who to vote for but clearly that's many people's choice I suppose.

ikeaismylocal · 26/05/2014 19:54

Shall I come back to the UK? It would be me, my toddler and I'm pregnant so another baby, obviously I wouldn't be able to work as I wouldn't be able to afford childcare with only one wage, and obviously my dp would have tostay in Sweden as he wouldn't be welcome in the UK despite being a hard working mam me and my children will need healthcare, my children will need a school place, we'll need somewhere to live and money for food, bills and transport.

There is no way I would choose to inflict NHS care in my family, I would never in a million years dream of choosing to bring my children up in the UK which has high levels of childhood stress, low levels of childhood happiness and poor school results. I wouldn't willingly swap free university education for me and my children, 18 months shared parental leave and heavily subsidised ( pretty much free) nursery and after school care for a life in the UK.

Shall I pack up and book flights home ( which I assume would be funded by the UK government)

In the summer I will be entitled to apply for Swedish citizenship, it can't come a day too soon.

Oh, and Latvia and Lithuania are lovely, I'd choose to relocate my family there before choosing to move back to the UK.

Retropear · 26/05/2014 19:55

Why would I want to?

No family, language barrier,no NHS,no jobs relevant to us.....

Retropear · 26/05/2014 19:56

Ikea your picture of the UK bares no resemblance to the UK I live in.Hope you enjoy Sweden.Hmm

caruthers · 26/05/2014 19:58

Good for you.

unfortunately there are a lot of people living in the UK in poverty stricken ares who haven't got the luxury of such a conundrum.

Retropear · 26/05/2014 20:01

And um the UK is 6th in the top 20 world best education systems,Sweden who has tumbled dramatically isn't even in there.

TucsonGirl · 26/05/2014 20:03

Where is that statistic from Retropear?

ikeaismylocal · 26/05/2014 20:04

ikea your picture of the UK bares no resemblance to the UK I live in.Hope you enjoy Sweden.

In what way? What do I have wrong? I do enjoy living in Sweden very much, the option to live, work or study wherever you like in the EU is very valuable in my opinion.

Retropear · 26/05/2014 20:06

'Twas reported everywhere month or so ago just Google world's best education systems.

Best we'd should forget the anti racism protests in Sweden recently due to the increase of the far right too.Hmm

Retropear · 26/05/2014 20:07
