Hi,

I am still here and reading, thanks for the advice and opinions. I will update properly in the morning, just thought I should start a new thread.

We haven't gone to the press yet, and nobody has shared on Facebook so not sure where that came from.

The nursery have been in touch and said they will be telling parents (because ofsted require them to) so that is good. Although I imagine the papers will get hold of it now once all the parents know. sigh

Oh yes - Mark My Words

Booboostoo · 30/04/2014 09:40

I don't understand why some people on both threads are going out of their way to find fault with the OP!

What happened was awful and inexcusable. I hope your DD is feeling better today OP and good luck with pursuing this through OFSTED etc.

Quinteszilla · 30/04/2014 09:42

I suggest you ask to have the first thread deleted, to preserve your privacy.

Good luck.

Tinkerball · 30/04/2014 10:08

That's good they are telling the other parents. I read the other thread until it was locked by MNHQ, what happened to it then?

I hope your daughter is okay today, lookingfortheanswer.

SueDNim · 30/04/2014 13:09

Thinking of you OP - you've been through a horrible ordeal. Do ask for the threads to be deleted if you have any doubts about having what you posted on the internet.

Good luck with finding a new nursery/CM.

Damnautocorrect · 30/04/2014 16:03

There was an incident at ds's nursery. We had a letter after the ofsted inspection saying something had happened, ofsted had been in and their rating dropped.
They didn't say what the incident was and it was only after ofsted inspected.

Groovee · 30/04/2014 16:08

Hope you are all ok. What are you doing with dd for childcare in the interim?

Heathcliff27 · 30/04/2014 16:19

Hope things went ok today hun OP

Thumbwitch · 30/04/2014 16:26

Very pleased that the nursery have realised/been told that they DO have to inform the rest of the parents.

And I understand your concern about the press picking up the story, but as no harm was done, it may not happen, depends on whether or not someone is sufficiently concerned to alert the press.

Also, you may be able to ask the nursery to keep your name out of it if they are contacted by the press - thus making sure that they know it's not you who told them, as well as trying to keep your family out of the limelight.

Hope you have recovered from the shock now? And that your DD is still ok. x

FatalCabbage · 30/04/2014 16:26

Glad to hear that things are progressing.

Agree that the meeeja can only use OP's real details if she chooses to divulge them - the authorities won't breach confidentiality by releasing any information that would identify a particular child!

A note to HQ for a deletion of the old thread and name change on this might help - they recently NCed an entire thread for me when I had a nickname cockup issue recently Thanks so OP could create a completely new nn for this thread only.

Whereisegg · 30/04/2014 17:05

I'm pleased the other parents will be told, even if that's only because they now have to be.

Hope you're all feeling a little better today :)

notapizzaeater · 30/04/2014 18:41

Wonder if they would have told them if they had a choice ?

BakerStreetSaxRift · 30/04/2014 20:44

They are only telling the other patents because OFSTED have said they have to! Not because it's the right thing to do.

Disgraceful.

Glad you're all okay, OP.

Goldmandra · 30/04/2014 20:53

To be fair to them they have probably been told what to do every step of the way. The LA stepped in immediately which means an Early Years advisor telling them what to do and Ofsted were involved the next day. We don't know what they would have decided by themselves.

Batmam · 30/04/2014 21:15

Can someone please link the original thread? Or tell me what happened? Tried searching...
