I bought some this morning as it is on offer in tesco.

I've eaten half a jar of it already Blush

And then I looked at the calorie content Shock Shock

I've hidden the jar so DH won't know how much I have eaten Blush

For the record it tasted best with vanilla ice cream...

God, there's not a whole lot of goodness going in it, is there?

Cupid5tunt · 10/04/2014 15:12

Well I have been putting off doing the online shopping but I've just changed my mind.

drspouse · 10/04/2014 15:15

I ate half a jar very quickly and then it was confiscated by the security agent at Heathrow (we weren't meant to be changing there but got diverted due to weather). I didn't know you could get it in the UK and was gutted.

Then I bought another jar having found it here and by the end of that jar was a bit sick of it.

I'll be interested to see if anyone else has that experience.

"God, there's not a whole lot of goodness going in it, is there?"

Sounds quite revolting, doesn't it?

Like crushed biscuits made into a paste by adding oil!

Cupid5tunt · 10/04/2014 15:19

Ok just read the ingredients Sad

Clicks off online shopping!

Spreadable Big Macs, also not very healthy!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 10/04/2014 16:59

Bought it because we like the biscuits. Took one taste and put it straight in the bin. Never again.

Feminine · 10/04/2014 17:00

It is really bad for us. Grin

Not 'like' - that's exactly what it is. I quite like the biscuits... I could imagine making a cheesecake base using them with butter.

I'll stick to Nutella in future I think.

It has palm oil.

Its an orangatang killer in a jar.

FunLovinBunster · 10/04/2014 20:20

I bloody loves Lotus biskwits.
Will I like the paste?
I'm going to Sainsbugs tomorrow....it could be my Easter treat?

FunLovinBunster · 10/04/2014 20:21

Sorry, I hate monkeys. Not really bovvered about orangutans...

Viviennemary · 10/04/2014 20:22

Just tasted it for the first time tonight. I was disappointed as i thought I'd love it. Give me nutella any day.

Furball · 10/04/2014 20:23

I prefer the actual biscuits

the spread was claggy like peanut butter. although that was the smooth, I think I need to try the crunchy

BaronVonShush · 10/04/2014 23:46

I felt like I had a hangover today.

I blame the crack paste.

And I think eating a whole jar in one day has put me off it. Thank god.

I'm confused about palm oil. I try to avoid it (knowing it is not great) but...even my Kalo organic stock cubes contain it? Confused

Oh , and the Marigold stock powder?

bruffin · 11/04/2014 08:12

It was invented as an alternative to peanut butter for those with peanut allergy. I found it centerparcs in Netherland a few years back and bought a big jar home, we love it.
Lotus also do a speculuus hundereds and thousands, they put hundreds and thousands on their toast for breakfast (i think).

HighwayRat · 11/04/2014 10:58

I've just spread it on American style pancakes! Shock I feel sick now.

Wittsend13 · 11/04/2014 10:59

I bought some of this and put it on ice cream. It's very nice albeit sickly sweet. Much nicer with just a spoon.

Somepercentagenotcool · 11/04/2014 11:13

The next time there is one of those 'why are people so overweight these days?' we can just post a direct link to one of these lotus spread threads and the gleeful claims of eating half a jar in one go.
