I bought some this morning as it is on offer in tesco.

I've eaten half a jar of it already Blush

And then I looked at the calorie content Shock Shock

I've hidden the jar so DH won't know how much I have eaten Blush

For the record it tasted best with vanilla ice cream...

It's for eating.

CuntyBunty · 09/04/2014 15:19

I mustn't even try it. I am too much of a spread whore to open this Pandora's box.

Its instead of chocolate spread or peanut butter. But I cant imagine it on bread

squoosh · 09/04/2014 15:20

It's a spread not a liquid. If you understand Nutella you can understand Lotus spread.

Why not just eat the biscuits?Confused

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 09/04/2014 15:33

I got a jar of the Carrefour own brand last week.kids love it. But not gluten free, so not for me. Boo. I did buy a jar of Kwaata chocolate spread. Fuck me, I could suck that through a tube, much nicer than Nutella.

BaronVonShush · 09/04/2014 15:44

It did cross my mind that I shouldn't really be spreading biscuit on bread.

I do love those biscuits and my drug if choice is sugar at the moment so it suits my needs.

I bet it would be good in a milkshake.

Is it like speculoos?

ArsePaste · 09/04/2014 16:23

It IS speculoos.

TulipOHare · 09/04/2014 16:27

I bought some thanks to you lot. It's quite nice on toasted brioche, but not as nice as Hotel Chocolat caramel smudge (my twice-a-year treat to end all treats).

Could not eat half a jar Shock

BaronVonShush · 09/04/2014 16:33

Yep, I have quite a capacity for high fat, high sugar products at the moment. Really must get that under control. Blush

I have some. I had a biscuit sandwich. It was gooooooood.

ExitPursuedByABear · 09/04/2014 16:46

Someone on another thread spreads it on one of the layers of a sponge cake.

Is this the spread that comes in coconut or caramel varieties discussed on Chat recently? Or another one to add to my list of Spreads I Must Try?

Koothrapanties · 09/04/2014 16:58

I haven't tried it yet, managed to drag myself away from it the other day, but I wondered if it would be good with fruit?

Surely it would be healthy then?

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 09/04/2014 17:09

Fuckwittery (good name) I was there last week and thought much the same and a million beers too. I love Belgium.

BaronVonShush · 09/04/2014 17:55

Summer holiday in Belgium then. Sorted.

Fuckwittery - tis scary the breakfast offerings here. Croissants/Pain au chocolat, sprinkles, nutella, speculoos spread ( the biscuit spread of which we speak) and the demon that is Sirop de Liege which is just pure sugar from what I can work out. I think the Belgians are more restrained, and eat less later in the day. I on the other hand AM the size of a small house Grin

BabyDubsEverywhere · 09/04/2014 18:04

I have used a jar already, its been spread on pancakes in place of usual lemon and sugar, and in a digestive biscuit sandwich - both lush!

I have also made a cheese cake with a layer lotus spread and felt all big and clever about it as it had a 'real' use, and tasted great!

PortofinoRevisited · 09/04/2014 18:05

I should offer some sort of exchange programme. Come stay with me and bring me SAUSAGES and I will offer you up enough sugary goodness to give diabetes to an entire small country.
