Hundreds of vipers vaping in our fifth thread!!

Here we go! Thread five! Thread four filled in one month!

Here is a link to thread four & you can work back from there.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2017939-Nest-of-Vapers-we-continue-to-not-BU-to-carry-on-vaping?pg=1

We are all always happy to answer any question. No question is too daft or unreasonable! We all know what a minefield of terminology it is when you first take up vaping.

Here is Allergic's great summary for anyone who is starting vaping:

""A very simple guide for those who have been a bit overwhelmed by all the variety discussed on this thread. Experienced vapers either ignore, or check for errors please!

There can be a trade off to be considered around cost, variety, overall experience and hassle.

The cigalike ones are the simplest to deal with in that you just unscrew one cart & screw in another. These tend to be the type that you can buy at the local market or shopping centre for a comparatively cheap initial purchase, but the carts they use can be very expensive and tend to be limited in flavours/strengths depending on brand. They can be useful in that they are small, look the most like "real" cigs, and are the most hassle-free, but the experience really isn't as good as other methods and the cost is higher.

The next step is to have a battery and disposable tank type system (CE4 in my case) where you buy the different liquids and fill the tank yourself. The batteries last a few months to a year (about the same or a little longer than the cigalikes) and the tanks (clearomisers) last anything from a couple of weeks to a couple of months - this can be extended by cleaning, but the coils inside do eventually pack in. This method is much cheaper and gives a much more satisfying experience, but has the added faff of unscrewing and topping up the tank rather than just chucking the

You can then go further and use tanks that have replaceable wicks & coils, can be stripped down & "serviced" etc. There's also a lot of variety and complexity available in the overall set-up e.g. variable voltage batteries. All these add to the hassle factor but allow the overall experience to be much better fine tuned to suit the vaper. Cost is a moot point here - you will save money using serviceable tanks, but people that get really into this can spend a fair bit on shiney new toys!

When it comes to the "juice" or liquid there's a hell of a lot of different things to consider - nicotine strength, flavour, the balance of "throat hit" vs vapour etc. But basically there are 3 ways to get the right juice which are buy ready made from a big importer (limited options), buy made to order from a smaller supplier (needs to steep for a few days), or buy the makings & mix your own (hassle, mess & steeping). These have been ordered from minimum hassle/maximum price to maximum hassle/minimum cost.

I'm a naturally lazy person and comparatively new to vaping, so I have a battery & disposable tank system, and am currently buying imported juice (Hangsen pineapple and Smartjuice Red tobacco flavour) which I know has steeped plenty while being shipped over and both brands have very good quality control. I will probably go directly to mostly mixing my own once I get a bit more money at the end of the month to buy all the bits & base liquids, though will probably continue buying the Smartjuice tobacco flavour because I like it so much! I doubt I will go down the road of serviceable tanks unless I get a nice glass one eventually."

Am charging it now fingers crossed. I know I'm stupid, but the string stiff is still in the centre tube which seems weird? Is that normal? I copied the YouTube video (thankyou pubes for your research) and tried a few puffs after filling it, nothing so far.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 14/04/2014 17:17

Schro, that's gawjus! The site looks a bit like ebay, so it would depend on the trustworthiness of individual sellers I suppose.

Shona, you're not stupid, this stuff is really fucking confusing!

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 14/04/2014 17:29

I'm just going to buy it from myepack on Wednesday, would rather spend the extra and go somewhere trusted and that site don't sell the Iclear 30s either so I might as well just use somewhere else.

It is so very very pretty. :o

Shona I am utterly confused by it all still too.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 14/04/2014 17:42

I'm surprised fasttech don't do it. They're really good at the classy stuff usually.

If it gets too heavy for your tiny laydeez hands you could try one of these. It's only 350mah but it's ever so sparkly, so totally worth £30 Hmm

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 14/04/2014 17:50

Oh, I seen that Lily thing on POTV... DP and I both agree that it looks like an applicator tampon. Hmm

I was a bit surprised that Fasttech didn't have it either, they have everything else!

ginmakesitallok · 14/04/2014 17:52

The wick should be in the liquid

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 14/04/2014 17:57

Oh yeah so it does! Especially the white one. Seems to be a be a bit of a theme with innokin, the itaste vv v3 always reminds me of a pregnancy test. The bigger ones are clearly aimed at the lads though - 134 looks like a gatling gun, mvp = house brick and the coolfire 2 looks like a hand grenade!

'but it looks like smoking wah wah wah'

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 14/04/2014 18:03

Just looked up the itaste vv v3, definitely clearblue digital stylee!

I want the coolfire 2. No idea why but it looks fab! but I would probably glue crystals all over it

QueenStromba · 14/04/2014 18:24

I was told not to vape in two different pubs yesterday. They couldn't explain why though since my housebrick MVP looks nothing like a cigarette.

Shona, what you have is an iclear 30s. The wicks are inside the metal tube but otherwise it's just like any other top coil tank.

whatadrama · 14/04/2014 18:39

shona it sounds like you've got wickless coils which is the same as i am using in my CE5 cartomisers Confused

I've clicked on the bit that normally says convert link but for some odd reason its saying 'watch this thread' WTF! Grin

Hopefully it will convert anyway!

whatadrama · 14/04/2014 18:41

Oh bugger, it didnt work, apologies.

Has anyone else got 'watch this thread' where 'convert link' used to be or is this a new thing?

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 14/04/2014 19:23

www.fasttech.com/reviews/1332301/18621

They do look like a similar system. Do you think they work better than the dangly string sort?

For those who haven't seen it, magi has started a thread in site stuff requesting a dedicated vaping topic.

whatadrama · 14/04/2014 19:39

The wickless ones definitely last longer than the ones with the danglys and are very cheap if you buy in bulk like i did from fasttech.

These ones should fit an innokin but are different to what i got to fit the CE5 which i ordered at the same time.

www.fasttech.com/products/0/10005988/1519801-authentic-innokin-coil-heads-for-iclear-30s-5-pack.

I still cant convert Confused

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 14/04/2014 20:05

What It did convert? Confused

If you put the link in double square brackets, it converts it, you can even add text to explain what it is.

IE: Iclear 30 coil heads

Raia · 14/04/2014 20:13

Do most of you use the top coil dangly bits clearomisers? I've only used kanger bottom coil ones so far but my MVP comes with the iclear 30. I really hope postie brings it in the morning.

Taste buds are coming back to life now Grin

BlueSkyCrystal · 14/04/2014 20:13

I've been putting off using the iClear30 that came with my new (titanium blue - pretty) MPV and I hate it.

There's something about the metal drip tip Sad

BlueSkyCrystal · 14/04/2014 20:14

Unfortunate x-post there Raia Grin

Raia · 14/04/2014 20:19

Ha!

I know what you mean though - had a go on a friend's steel drip tip and it was like sucking on a surgical instrument Confused I don't like the idea of metal clanking against my teeth. Maybe you can get plastic ones or a rubbery sleeve?

Do you like the iclear apart from the metal tip problem?

Allergictoironing · 14/04/2014 20:25

Raia I (and a few others) are using GS-H2s which are bottom coil "cheap & cheerful" clearos. Filling is slightly different, in that you unscrew the coil then fill it through the bottom, and you can't really see the wick just a fluffy little bit of the end. Otherwise I'm finding it a better vape than the old top coil CE4s that came with my (and just about all starters) kit.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 14/04/2014 20:25

I hated the metal drip tip on my mini protank 2 when I first got it (felt like it was whistling when I inhaled, really cold etc, clanky), even went out and bought a jade one but actually now I have been using it for a couple of weeks, it's fab. I con't think I could use a plastic one again now.

BlueSkyCrystal · 14/04/2014 20:40

It's a smooth vape and I prefer a crackle and pop one like I get with my iClear16B. You might get on really well with it!

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 14/04/2014 21:06

Yes, gs-h2 are like a poor vaper's bottom coil kanger Grin I prefer them to top coils generally although I quite like the iclear 16. I have a mini protank 2 I got for questionable liquids as it has a pyrex tank but I don't use it much because I find it a faff to wash up - too many bits. GS-H2's don't give as much snap crackle and pop as kangers but they're pretty good for around £1 each and are easy to rebuild.

I can't do metal drip tips either. Luckily fasttech does them in a variety of materials - I have a pyrex one on my protank 2 and a ceramic one I haven't used yet that looks like a tiny vase.

Actually, I have a barely used iclear 30 (top coil) - would anyone like it? It's had a good soak in alcohol so is germ free and doesn't smell of whatever liquid I used. Send me a PM if you're interested.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/04/2014 21:11

I need to get dh vaping, he uses E-Lites red but they run out in a day.

What should we be looking for? Something easy to use please.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 14/04/2014 21:20

I've ordered it!

No idea how though, PP pay after delivery wasn't working for myepack and I have no money in my account. Confused Unless it comes off in a few days? Hmm

Paypal says payment completed. Confused
