Here we go! Thread five! Thread four filled in one month!

Here is a link to thread four & you can work back from there.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2017939-Nest-of-Vapers-we-continue-to-not-BU-to-carry-on-vaping?pg=1

We are all always happy to answer any question. No question is too daft or unreasonable! We all know what a minefield of terminology it is when you first take up vaping.

Here is Allergic's great summary for anyone who is starting vaping:

""A very simple guide for those who have been a bit overwhelmed by all the variety discussed on this thread. Experienced vapers either ignore, or check for errors please!

There can be a trade off to be considered around cost, variety, overall experience and hassle.

The cigalike ones are the simplest to deal with in that you just unscrew one cart & screw in another. These tend to be the type that you can buy at the local market or shopping centre for a comparatively cheap initial purchase, but the carts they use can be very expensive and tend to be limited in flavours/strengths depending on brand. They can be useful in that they are small, look the most like "real" cigs, and are the most hassle-free, but the experience really isn't as good as other methods and the cost is higher.

The next step is to have a battery and disposable tank type system (CE4 in my case) where you buy the different liquids and fill the tank yourself. The batteries last a few months to a year (about the same or a little longer than the cigalikes) and the tanks (clearomisers) last anything from a couple of weeks to a couple of months - this can be extended by cleaning, but the coils inside do eventually pack in. This method is much cheaper and gives a much more satisfying experience, but has the added faff of unscrewing and topping up the tank rather than just chucking the

You can then go further and use tanks that have replaceable wicks & coils, can be stripped down & "serviced" etc. There's also a lot of variety and complexity available in the overall set-up e.g. variable voltage batteries. All these add to the hassle factor but allow the overall experience to be much better fine tuned to suit the vaper. Cost is a moot point here - you will save money using serviceable tanks, but people that get really into this can spend a fair bit on shiney new toys!

When it comes to the "juice" or liquid there's a hell of a lot of different things to consider - nicotine strength, flavour, the balance of "throat hit" vs vapour etc. But basically there are 3 ways to get the right juice which are buy ready made from a big importer (limited options), buy made to order from a smaller supplier (needs to steep for a few days), or buy the makings & mix your own (hassle, mess & steeping). These have been ordered from minimum hassle/maximum price to maximum hassle/minimum cost.

I'm a naturally lazy person and comparatively new to vaping, so I have a battery & disposable tank system, and am currently buying imported juice (Hangsen pineapple and Smartjuice Red tobacco flavour) which I know has steeped plenty while being shipped over and both brands have very good quality control. I will probably go directly to mostly mixing my own once I get a bit more money at the end of the month to buy all the bits & base liquids, though will probably continue buying the Smartjuice tobacco flavour because I like it so much! I doubt I will go down the road of serviceable tanks unless I get a nice glass one eventually."

My e cog broke got new battery, tank fine.

Tripe menthol tasting dull :(

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 13/04/2014 22:13

Try that Airblast stuff, it is a crazy strong menthol. crazy menthol here

Glad tank is fine and you now have a new battery, how did it break?

Dwerf · 13/04/2014 22:38

I'd really rather not pay £17 for a battery. How much do myepack charge for delivery?

SoleSource · 13/04/2014 22:57

Thank you Schro :) I'll have a click.

I paid £20.00 for new battery.

QueenStromba · 14/04/2014 04:17

When I bought my MVP from myepack they charged £1.95 for delivery.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 14/04/2014 08:27

There are cheaper batteries. I got 4 cheapo kits from Paradise Vape last october and all the batteries are still going strong (2 of us using them). They don't have the same kits I got any more but I have heard good things about these - you get a 650 mah battery and two iclear 16s (i.e. decent clearos) for £8.

Amazon and ebay both usually have lots of ego batteries but quality will likely be a bit hit and miss so read reviews carefully.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 14/04/2014 08:38

Then of course there's always Fasttech but probably not a good idea if yours are about to go because delivery takes several weeks.

Shonajay · 14/04/2014 16:07

Can anyone help?! I ordered an iclear30 to fit my mvp2. They're talking about replacing the coils ( stringy bits) but inside the I clear there's a tube with holes in and there seems to be string inside that? Also it doesn't seem to fit with the "vanity ring" om thr MVP2.

I'm at home this week as I've just lost my job and I've been very tearful lol and I've been struggling to fit this thing and have I bought the right thing. The MVP is so better than my other one a, dying to get it to work.

I am pretty much counting down the minutes until Wednesday to buy my MVP, getting very bored of my twist now, I want the voltage up higher but when I turn it up, it tastes burnt.

Will also be buying an Iclear 30 clearo, I now love the metal drip tips weirdly, and my jade one doesn't fit my mini protank2 properly. :(

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 14/04/2014 16:13

Ohh, bizarre Xpost!

Sorry, I can't help but I am following. Sorry you've had a crap week, I'm sure someone here will be able to help. x

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 14/04/2014 16:15

Would this help?

ginmakesitallok · 14/04/2014 16:22

It's not the coils you want to replace, it's the whole atomiser head

ginmakesitallok · 14/04/2014 16:25

Oh, and re the vanity ring. I find it quite a tight fit, you have to make sure the vanity ring is tightly screwed on before you screw on the i30

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 14/04/2014 16:30

After a bit of detective work, I think you have the

You can get replacement coils here

WTFlike · 14/04/2014 16:32

I got this H2 Cloud today and I LOVE it. Great throat hit.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 14/04/2014 16:42

WTF I seen that in a newsagents the other day! It was a starter kit and I thought it looked rather odd, the clearo was completely clear including the mouth piece. I wanted to buy it but thought it would just be another crap newsagent cheapie, it was very slim.

Is it good then?

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 14/04/2014 16:42

WTF, they look very similar to the GS-H2s I use (and am still using after 6 months, even though I have a drawer full of posher stuff Grin). I like being able to see exactly what's going on in there. I've recoiled mine to 1.8 ohms and they're even better.

BlueSkyCrystal · 14/04/2014 16:43

Shona, try to vanity ring on the other way around with the lip to the top. It doesn't seem as if it'll screw in at first but it will. I've just assembled mine for the first time and is it a bit confusing!

BlueSkyCrystal · 14/04/2014 16:44

Sorry about your week as well

Allergictoironing · 14/04/2014 16:47

Latest Fasttech order just done (boring stuff like replacement coil heads, no shinies and no shopping accidents this time) - anyone want to run a book on when it arrives? currently got shipping dates ranging from 16/04 to 22/04 for items that are all supposed to be in stock Grin

Shonajay · 14/04/2014 16:49

Thankyou so much I can see the coils/strings in my other ones so seems weird to me. I can't get the vanity ring any tighter even the other way round, will greet husband wailing at door. Just going to,still it out now. And I'm sorry for being pathetic, am having a totally indulgent whine fest xxxx

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 14/04/2014 16:50

Allergic DP's was shipped the day after we ordered (very end of March), it's still not here (and poor DP is at the door every day waiting on it).

The guy that runs the bricks and mortar shop we go to also calls it Slowtech too. :o

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 14/04/2014 16:56

It looks like the ring is screwed on all the way but I'm wondering if the tank is screwing on properly. Press and hold both buttons on the side of the mvp. If the display says 'non' it's not making contact.

Allergictoironing · 14/04/2014 16:58

Schro my last one took about 3 weeks before it was even shipped, with one item changing shipping date almost every day. At one stage it wasn't even due in to Fasttech for 5 more days, then it shipped the next day!

I gather 2 weeks is about the minimum for getting stuff in the UK Sad

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 14/04/2014 16:58

Hmm, does anyone think it's worth trying this website? It seems too good to be true...
