I wasn't there so don't know if photographers have picked out the bad pics, but looking at the litter it looks like a horrible day out. Absolutely horrible. Why do some people insist on getting drunk like this?

Shrug. Each to their own.

FFS, they're having fun! Leave them to it if it bothers you and your pearls so much.

CalamityKate · 06/04/2014 12:17

Good god. How classy Hmm

Those photos could have been taken in any busy, boozy town centre on a Saturday night; except your average town centre probably has less litter.

BigRedBall · 06/04/2014 12:20

Yes each to their own, but if I was there, I wouldn't have enjoyed people ruining the day like this. If your behaviour affects people around you, I think it's quite selfish. Like I said, I wasn't there so maybe the worst parts have been highlighted but that litter is just horrible.

The pictures on the Daily Mirror web site were worse www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/aintree-ladies-day-2014-recap-3363896. There were some lovely dressed ladies, it's just a shame the media have decided to take pictures like these. I doubt very much that the whole of the day was like this so they have cherry picked the worst ones.

RayPurchase · 06/04/2014 12:21

Shock the litter is shocking! Filthy bastards, don't they have bins at Aintree?

SaggyAndLucy · 06/04/2014 12:21

I didn't see the pictures, but I have worked Ladies Day at Newmarket. It is HORRIBLE!
And I WAS judgemental! I have never seen so many orange women in, badly fitted, badly chosen, hideous nasty outfits in my life! They were mainly rolling drunk, rude and annoying! The few nicely dressed, pleasant people were sorely out of place!

rainbowfeet · 06/04/2014 12:21

It was the pic of the one with her prison tag on show around her ankle!!! ShockShock

Grin Great pics! Not quite what the marketing would have you believe.

Apart from picture number 4 of the long floaty outfit with flipflops I wouldn't be seen dead wearing any of those outfits and makeup.

TalkieToaster · 06/04/2014 12:25

It's the worst parts, highlighted. I lived in Aintree for years so I know what I'm talking about. The majority of people are normal, nicely-dressed and having fun in a less, um, obvious manner.

Catsize · 06/04/2014 12:25

Should rename it Ladish Day. Makes me ashamed to be British.

specialsubject · 06/04/2014 12:25

just some drunk rich kids whose parents never taught them to use a bin.

irrelevancies.

TalkieToaster · 06/04/2014 12:27

But, it's a case of mocking the minority because it fulfils the stereotype the rest of the country has of Liverpool. Yes, we have bins. Not as many as needed at Aintree, clearly. I'll be visiting family later just down the road from the Racecourse and I can pretty much guarantee all that litter will be gone.

caruthers · 06/04/2014 12:28

Looks like one sex is starting to catch up with the other sex in the shock horror value stakes.

I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing but they do appear to be having a marvellous time :-)

RayPurchase · 06/04/2014 12:28

Is Liverpool know for its litter then? Ive never been there.

Caitlin17 · 06/04/2014 12:29

The Daily Mail ones are just hideous. Even the ones that they say aren't .

pictish · 06/04/2014 12:30

Well...they all look to be having fun to me!
What is your problem with it exactly?

GemmaTeller · 06/04/2014 12:32

Whilst I believe there would have been a lot of nicely turned out people, there seem to be an awful lot more who didn't look in the mirror before they went out.

HowContraryMary · 06/04/2014 12:32

Is it just me looking at the sea of litter?

99% of the pictures are taken with ladies sitting down because their feet hurt wearing stupid shoe. Nothing more, nothing less. I would point out, being drunk in public is an offence. Not that I care.

tobybox · 06/04/2014 12:33

pictish OPs problem is that they are not having fun IN A RESPECTABLE MANNER.

Which is ridiculous, cos if Mumsnet was a real-life day out, then it would look very much like the photos above. Maybe with slightly more clothes on.

TalkieToaster · 06/04/2014 12:33

Pictish, it's because all scousers are hideous, uneducated chavs, clearly. We're here to be sneered at, didn't anyone tell you? Wink
