I wasn't there so don't know if photographers have picked out the bad pics, but looking at the litter it looks like a horrible day out. Absolutely horrible. Why do some people insist on getting drunk like this?

It is selective editing, they post the worst ones so that people share the article just like on this thread.

To be completely honest, I can understand why they get trollied, I went to Ascot once and I was thoroughly bored.

HarrietSchulenberg · 06/04/2014 12:52

I don't think there were bins, so where should people put their rubbish? It's no worse than any major event and I hear it's all cleared quickly.
Some quite hideous outfits on display though.

GemmaTeller · 06/04/2014 12:52

Why not totally show yourself up?

AnUnearthlyChild · 06/04/2014 12:56

What's with the green flip flops everywhere ?

LadyMaryLikesCake · 06/04/2014 12:57

Probably more comfortable than heels, AnUnearthlyChild. Maybe there was a stall selling them?

ShakesBootyFlabWobbles · 06/04/2014 12:58

You know, they are probably just having a great time so people should back off, the press are really looking for shots to get the best reaction. There always seems to be lots of joyous faces on the photos, enjoy yourselves Aintree go-ers!
I live near Ascot and let me tell you, it is not the height of decorum that it is being made out to be upthread, there are plenty of drunks falling about at the local train stations after they let out, but you don't see their photos in the Fail every year. Living in Berkshire and Surrey doesn't make you immune from acting like a knob.

LadyMaryLikesCake · 06/04/2014 12:59

I think people are mostly annoyed at the biased press images, Shakes. Smile

BuddyButters · 06/04/2014 13:00

Apparently Danielle Lloyd's teeth dazzled a jockey so badly that his horse got tangled in another horse and they had to do the race again.

As for poor Liverpudlians - hardly poor. The fake hair, eyelashes, teeth, vats and vats of St Tropez, hideously expensive dresses, shoes and hats, not to mention the gallons of alcohol must cost a fortune. If only the woman with the tits had spent less on Elnett she could have afforded a bra :(

MichaelFinnigan · 06/04/2014 13:01

I think it looks fun. Getting all dressed up for a day out getting pissed with your mates? Bring it on

Don't like the horse part but the dresses and drinking look like loads of fun

Caitlin17 · 06/04/2014 13:02

Flip flops will be alternative of the folding ballet pump for when you're heels are hurting.

MamaPain · 06/04/2014 13:03

AnUnearthlyChild, I think they were being given out or sold cheaply because of all the years where you have hundreds of women taking their shoes off and walking barefoot by the end of the day.

UnacceptableWidge · 06/04/2014 13:05

Can I point out please that a huge number of people travelled to Liverpool for the day.
I'm North-West and travelled there for a different reason yesterday and there were a huge number of people coming in from all areas making a day/weekend of it.
Just wanted to make that point before anyone is left with the impression that the litter, questionable fashion sense and loutish behaviour is a 'Liverpudlian trait' (not that anyone with any common sense would)

Now I've gotten that of my chest I will go and snigger at the photos and thank my lucky stars I don't go out often enough or anywhere high profile enough to have the piss ripped out of me so publicly

SaggyAndLucy · 06/04/2014 13:05

Michael Its ok as long as you are loaded! Alcohol cost the earth! Newmarket charges £25 for a hug of pumps and £10 deposit for the jug!

MichaelFinnigan · 06/04/2014 13:07

I'd take a bottle of gin in my handbag Grin classy me (and I'm a posh southerner)

jonicomelately · 06/04/2014 13:08

For all the people sneering about the litter, perhaps you should remember there was a massive incident where the IRA threatened to bomb Aintree. I'm guessing there are no litter bins as a precaution against similar risks in the future.

BuddyButters · 06/04/2014 13:08

Hug of pumps? Not sure I like the sound of that Confused

BookFairy · 06/04/2014 13:10

I live near Epsom and saw far worse drunkenly lolling about the train station last year tbh.

BigRedBall · 06/04/2014 13:16

My biggest problem is the litter, which looks like was the effect of getting drunk and not giving a shit. My second problem is that people around the world will see these pics and its embarrassing. I'm partly angry at the press and partly angry at the people there for showing themselves up. Those are my problems.

It's all very well they're having fun, but yes, I do judge these people and hope to the higher powers my Dd's and DS never behave in such a way and get photographed in the national newspapers like this. Total embarrassment.

They look cheap, disgraceful and a terrible sight. Pictures don't lie.

ConferencePear · 06/04/2014 13:19

I wonder why the British media do this ? There are plenty of women like this at Longchamps for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe but I don't think pictures of it are plastered across the French media.

willowstar · 06/04/2014 13:20

I can't get worked up about this at all...people out having a good time dressed up and probably happy enough.

kerstina · 06/04/2014 13:20

The girl with the big cheddar cheese biscuit hat (mirror photos) has lovely coloured highlighted hair. What would I need to ask for to get that as usually end up with gold highlights. Would it be ash blonde?

UnacceptableWidge · 06/04/2014 13:24

Looked at photos now...meh
Never been to a racecourse myself but isn't the majority of the litter betting type papers? Not an excuse for people being lazy but I'm guessing that is a sight at every race?

Also having looked at photos...not believing for a second that the ratio of drunken daft women outnumbered drunken idiot men.
Men in suits being drunk and stupid isn't as noteworthy as silly little women getting dolled up and behaving badly though is it?

AnaisB · 06/04/2014 13:24

I imagine that most people "all over the world" will have better things to worry about than a few scousers getting pissed.
