OP Im not sure if this is a good thing for me to say or not.

But IC's really are notorious for this. They cant be trusted.

Rather than it being a chemical, I think you are more than likely absolutely fine and you have just become victim to cheap tests.

I really feel for you, either way. I have been there, I kow exactly how you are feeling right now.

You said you had a positive on another brand, what brand was it?

I hope you're ok.x

Odaat · 27/03/2014 20:44

It was a cheapy from McColls- 2 for a pound!
I would think you were right, however i have no doubt I was pregnant / am pregnant. I know my body. I was on agony with boob / exhausted / nausea - I have been pregnant before so i recognised the symptoms.
I appreciate you are only trying to help me though and I can userstamding your concern if it is common with ICs.
Thanks :)

I had two bleeds in the early stages of my last pregnancy, both times my symptoms continued and i was still pregnant. I knew I'd miscarried as my symptoms vanished before I ever started bleeding.

That being said every woman is different and many others continue having symptoms whilst miscarrying due to residual hormones.

I hope it is just pregnancy bleeding but try not to get your hopes up too much, the reality is many pregnancies don't succeed for whatever reason and at this stage unfortunately the odds aren't in your favour.

most miscarriages are the result of genetic abnormalities of the embryo/foetus so there's really nothing that can be done to prevent nature taking it' course.

Odaat · 27/03/2014 21:47

Thanks Summer,
I am aware the odds are not in my favour. I am up and down right now, or minute positive and the next not!
I dont think I am now though, bleeding started again tonight and boob pain has alleviated. Think AF is on route for sure!
Will keep everyone posted regardless!

I'm sorry Flowers

Hopefully if it is going to start it goes quickly, being in limbo is horrible.

Can you go to an EPU and ask for advice? If you were getting faint positives and had symptoms you almost certainly are/were pregnant and it might be no harm to make sure it's not ectopic (iirc bleeding can be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy). At the very least they might be able to confirm whether you're miscarrying or not so you can start to deal with it instead of not knowing

bluestar2 · 28/03/2014 07:23

Odaat I bled like you with my second pregnancy except at time I had had only one faint positive on a cheapy. The bleed wasn't like a normal period and didn't feel right. A week later I had a positive test and a further early scan - more bleeding confirmed it and there was a heartbeat. While I wojldnt get your hopes up just know these things are possible. I inform agley went on to have mmc later on but the 2 things were never connected. I hope the blood test clears thing for you.

Odaat · 28/03/2014 10:38

Still bleeding today- heavier than yesterday , red but no clots (sorry fr tmi)
I still got a faint positive today :) but I know its not looking good. Back ache gone and boobs are no longer sore :(
I feel sad, sad for losing the chance at a pregnancy :/ I know it was early days- but I still feel sad for the the little soul that could have been too. Am I losing it?
On the upside , dh has suggested (well, more agreed hehe) that I just stay off pill now :D
So regardless of the outcome this time, I will hopefully have a healthy pregnancy very soon :)

Not loosing it Odaat - you are absolutely entitled to grieve for this.

I hope things work out ok for you.

I think you are very fertile after a MC, so next month we might well be sitting with you whilst you get your positive result.

SummerRain · 28/03/2014 14:06

It's totally normal to be upset and grieve for the loss odaat, no matter how early on in the pregnancy you were happy to be pregnant and would have cherished the baby.

Your hormones aren't helping matters either tbh.

As fairy says women are very fertile after miscarriage so you may get pregnant quite quickly once this is over.

[hugs] take care of yourself, miscarriage is tough and can leave you feeling quite shaken, even in the early stages.

Odaat · 28/03/2014 15:56

Thanks ladies. I dont really veiw it as a miscarriage as such, as it is more just like my period came before the pregnancy even had a chance- iyswim? Maybe i am in denial!
I do feel sad at the loss of a chance of oregnancy though.
Anyway shall see what the results say on tuesd. I still ahe hope.

WaterLoadaCack · 31/03/2014 19:46

So it was just crap pregnancy tests?

Odaat · 31/03/2014 19:52

No I think I was but had a bleed and now I'm not

OP posts:
WaterLoadaCack · 31/03/2014 20:18

Did you have a positive test after the blood test though? That would indicate faulty/unreliable tests?

Odaat · 31/03/2014 21:11

I had lots of positive urine tests but had a bleed and then did blood test today which was negative
