I have has two very fuzzy / super light positives - but he rest are negatives. I feel pregnant though. Think period due today or tomorrow... Am i testing too early?

Evap lines aren't coloured.

I didn't get a line on first response until a few days after my period was due.

If you have had positive lines on other tests you are pregnant.
Honest.

RoundNRoundN · 26/03/2014 16:40

Thats the exact opposite of my experience Fairy so you cannot say for sure.

You cannot say 'you are pregnant' and have it in stone.
You can say it, but you could be wrong.

Unfortunately you can get false positives on the IC's which are coloured. I scoured enough TTC forums to see it happen to many women and no, it wasnt an early miscarriage. They are simply not that reliable.

As in the link, one of the first ones was a 'fuzzy' red line. Thats not a genuine positive. I think the OP mentioned that hers were fuzzy as well.

But fair enough on the first response, Ive only heard of them being extremely sensitive and most reliable. But maybe not that sensitive for some.

slithytove · 26/03/2014 17:41

It is not common to get a false positive, evap lines aren't false positives.

You just need to make sure you are reading the result at the specified time and not after.

I found first response crap with all three of my pregnancies.

slithytove · 26/03/2014 17:42

And my evap lines were coloured, looked just like a pregnancy line. Only thing was they took 20 mins to appear so were not positive tests.

Odaat · 26/03/2014 17:46

I have asked the midwife who has said I may be testing far too early and will have to wait a week then re test.

Hmm. This is horrible! To add to the mix i know have back pain and cramps ...

OP posts:
ICanSeeTheSun · 26/03/2014 17:48

Could you afford a blood test to get it confirmed.

Cramps could either be the sign of implantation or AF is on it's way.

Sunbeam22 · 26/03/2014 17:59

I think it's too early to tell. I think you should test in the morning in the next two days. When I fell pregnant with my DD I had super feint lines in the morning and negative in the afternoon. Then they started to get darker!

If you can't wait two days then test again in the morning. If you are pregnant then you will have higher levels of hormone in your urine.

Good luck x

slithytove · 26/03/2014 18:01

Just try and wait it out. I know how hard it is.

As I mentioned before, implantation can differ in women with the same cycle by around a week, which would affect AF and the date which you will get a positive test.

Just make sure you are using highly concentrated wee, and following the instructions. Making sure you read it in the right time frame is vital to avoid heart break Thanks

I found home bargains, wilkinsons, and Internet cheapie dip strips to be the most sensitive for all 3 pregnancies. CB digital worked about a week after AF was due, and FR about a fortnight. Both well after I had had positives on cheapies.

Hope this is a wee beanie!

Odaat · 26/03/2014 18:03

Can't afford it im afraid! :)
Cramps hopefully just am early pregnancy sign? And lower ache is killing me too.
I feel pregnant;my boobs are in agony !
I am just gonna wait and see what happens now :/
I have had lots of positives (albeit faint) so this makes me doubt the evap theory to be honest. Even te doc confirmed my test.
But who knows.

Sunbeam22 · 26/03/2014 18:13

Oh I had back pain and cramp too! Ohhhh! I think you are pregnant. You just have to wait it out for that line to get darker!

Fairy1303 · 26/03/2014 18:42

I'm firmly in the pregnant camp. Your experience is almost identical to mine.

Odaat · 26/03/2014 18:56

Wow!! I so hope so! Well I did some calculations tonight and if I am right, my period is around 2 days late. Midwife suggested i wait atleast a week of it being late. I just think everyone's cycles and bodies are different and there is not much we can do about it! I shall just have to wait it out. Thanks for all the lovely kind words and encouragement. I really do feel I am. Let's hope the test proves it once again :)

NoodleOodle · 26/03/2014 19:22

I think you probably are, you've had quite a few positive results now haven't you? Good luck (as I'm sure you're going to continue testing until its' completely undeniably one way or the other!)

Odaat · 26/03/2014 19:23

Haha noodle, indeed I am!
Yes had lots of positives- one dark and the rest faint (very faint)

OP posts:
NoodleOodle · 26/03/2014 19:27

What does DP think?

Odaat · 26/03/2014 19:31

He's unsure, but said this is probably down to being in shock

RoundNRoundN · 26/03/2014 20:50

What are you planning on doing next, test wise?

When I was posting earlier I had no idea you'd had a dark test.

I just read you'd had a few fuzzy/faint positives and then some negatives, negative CB digi and negative FR.

Odaat · 26/03/2014 21:00

Yeh I have had one fairly dark test the rest faint, should have mentioned that on here if I haven't ????
This was yesterday. Today I have had negatives and a faint positive .
I will re test in the morning a week as midwife suggested with a FR.

OP posts:
DeMaz · 26/03/2014 21:41

Odaat, are you sure it might not be a chemical? I hope I don't come across harsh by asking that?

RandomPants · 26/03/2014 21:46

You can get false negatives if there's not enough HCG in that particular pee. You can't get false positives though. Stop testing for a few days then only use a first morning pee.
