Dr is a very clean little girl and always has a fresh polo for school but I have to admit if her dress and cardigan are clean after school she will sometimes wear them for a second day.
Do your dcs have a freshly washed uniform every day? Am I a terrible mother lol...

Clean every day. Partly habit partly because they're muck beasts. Also because I don't make them change most days after school.

Dss has reached the sweaty but in denial stage, I'm struggling to wash the smell out of his shirts because at his mum's he'll wear the same shirt for 2-3 days. They hum! Trousers often covered in mud too. Ds also comes home muddy/covered in paint, so it's easiest to train him clean every day. The dds aren't so bad, but as a kid I was always conscious of smelling unwashed and I suppose there's an element of that in my actions.

cosikitty · 07/03/2014 14:59

My dd wears hers all week! (age 8)

Purplepoodle · 07/03/2014 15:01

Wistfully wonders if dc will ever be able to wear a uniform 2 days in a row.

nancy75 · 07/03/2014 15:04

Dd has 5 sets of uniform, I do a white wash and a dark wash on Friday evening and then she can have clean uniform every day the following week.
I am too busy in the week to worry about having to wash uniform - getting it all done and ready on a Friday or Saturday works well for us

GreenShadow · 07/03/2014 15:13

DS3 doesn't do the rolling around in the playground any more so doesnt need to change his uniform very often. He hasn't started smelling yet, so polo shirt every other day and trousers and jumper as required which often means they last all week.
Sorry if that offends people but there's no point washing stuff if it's not dirty or smelly.

BurdenedWithGloriousPurpose · 07/03/2014 15:13

My DS's get a full change of uniform on Wednesdays. Unless something has gotten dirty of course. Fridays are half days so don't count in my head, so 2 days use per uniform.

No way would I do every day unless reeeeally needed - far too lazy for that! Grin

Menolly · 07/03/2014 15:23

Unless it looks dirty I wash winter uniform every 2-3 days and underwear every day, summer uniform is washed every day. The fleece they wear for playtime/out door lessons and lunch apron, PE and dance uniforms are all washed every weekend. Blazer is cleaned with a damp sponge if it needs it and dry cleaned once a term, because it's wool and dry clean only because that's sensible for little children same with the school duffle coat.

DD is 5, so too young for BO to be a problem and comes home looking clean most of the time.

RoganJosh · 07/03/2014 15:26

Everything clean on Monday, then she wears shirts for two days if still clean. They usually are. Clean pinafore/trousers and cardigan only if they need washing. Usually she'll go through two or three in a week. Occasionally the same one lasts all week.

LeadingToGadeBank · 07/03/2014 15:56

If it's clean, they'll keep wearing until it's dirty.

Mintyy · 07/03/2014 16:01

Yanbu to ask ...

AllDirections · 07/03/2014 17:49

In primary a whole clean uniform every day including cardigans because the sleeves trail on toilet seats

In secondary, clean set every day except skirts (2 a week worn) and blazers that get washed weekly.

racmun · 07/03/2014 17:55

Ds is in preps and he has a complete freshly laundered set every day. I hate the thought of him wearing grubby clothes.

Like previous poster we bought 5 sets so I wash it over the weekend and its all ready for the following week with no stress.

mrstigs · 07/03/2014 18:05

Pah. I'm lucky if my two get to school Monday morning still looking clean, I have no chance of them walking out of school with anything clean enough to be reworn. Bloody messy sods my lot. Ds sometimes gets another day out of his jumper but that's mainly when it's been shoved in his bag all day anyway. I often look at other families with nicely turned out clean kids like this > Envy as my three straggle past looking like they've taken a mud bath in a thorn bush.
And does anyone else have an ongoing battle with pen? I'm not sure my local schools provide paper anymore as my kids both seem to do a majority of their work on their uniform. And I can never get it out properly.

starfishmummy · 07/03/2014 18:09

Clean polo daily. School zip up fleece weekly or more often if it is smelly or dirty (but doesn't wear it all day); trousers...sore point. Has gone back to day due to being decorated with yogurt. He needs a pinny Grin

Marylou2 · 07/03/2014 18:10

Clean every day.

ShakesBootyFlabWobbles · 07/03/2014 18:18

All week unless dirty, but they are not at the sweaty stage yet.

tallulah · 07/03/2014 18:34

DD is a grub so has to have clean everything every day.

bigTillyMint · 07/03/2014 18:55

Well, I tell them both to put a clean shirt on every day...

Lucylouby · 07/03/2014 19:00

If there are no marks on the uniform they wear it again. Polo shirts will do two days and skirts/trousers/cardigans/jumpers I would let them wear all week if they weren't visibly dirty. Dd1 can make a skirt and cardi last all week. Ds needs clean pretty much each day. Dd2 probably two skirts/card is a week. All uniform gets washed on a Friday, regardless of how many days it has done though. Start the week fresh.

My two boys wear the same clothes all week pretty much-they come home clean, take shirts/shirt/jumper off before tea so just have clean pants and socks daily. Very occasionally one might need a clean jumper/shorts, but they just never get mucky and as they are too young to sweat (7 & 5) they don't need clean every day.

I believe this is why I only replace uniforms when they're outgrown-the stuff I'd only usually washed once a week which keeps it newer for longer.

Sallystyle · 07/03/2014 19:35

Well, I am the odd one out it seems.

Unless they are dirty or smelly then they do not get washed every day at all.

GreenLandsOfHome · 07/03/2014 19:38

Mine are 6 and 3 and will have a new set whenever needed.

Sometimes this will mean clean every day. Sometimes they wear the same uniform ALL WEEK. That's right. Not even a clean polo. That is extremely rare though (where they actually stay clean all week).

I would say on average they wear two sets a week. I don't put clean on them for fun though...if it looks clean, it gets worn again.

GreenLandsOfHome · 07/03/2014 19:41

PE and dance uniforms are all washed every weekend

Mine both took their new PE kits in in after Christmas (school branded shorts and T Shirt). I haven't seen them since. They stay in school and only get sent home if specifically asked for (which no one does).

They only wear them for two hours a week and they're not yet at the age to get smelly.

Mumof3xx · 07/03/2014 19:42

Two boys

Reception and year one

Full clean uniform every day. Jumper usually full of glue yogurt or paint
