Dr is a very clean little girl and always has a fresh polo for school but I have to admit if her dress and cardigan are clean after school she will sometimes wear them for a second day.
Do your dcs have a freshly washed uniform every day? Am I a terrible mother lol...

Reborn. Ha should say reworn.

steppemum · 07/03/2014 11:06

Oh and I often sponge dinner splodge off sweatshirts and trousers rather than put them in the wash.

Picturesinthefirelight · 07/03/2014 11:07

I do tend to give ds a clean shirt every day in summer as he gets hot & sticky.

ShatnersBassoon · 07/03/2014 11:07

Fresh every day. They come home smelling of school dinners and foisty things.

It depends week to week! but generally...

DS (15) gets a fresh shirt every day. Jumper washed once a week with trousers.

The others ( 10 & 5) whenever it comes home dirty!

Foxred10 · 07/03/2014 11:08

DS1 (age 6) has a clean uniform every day because at this time of year he comes home every day caked in mud Hmm
If they looked clean I would use trousers and jumper for a 2nd day but shirt fresh every day. I stick his stuff on a 30 min wash when he comes in and hang it up to dry overnight.

WitchWay · 07/03/2014 11:09

Always had 3 shirts & one pair of trousers for DS, three pairs of school socks, one jumper, one blazer, one tie.

Monday's & Tuesday's shirts & socks go in the wash for Thursday & Friday. Trousers washed if dirty as will dry overnight. Blazer washed every half term unless dirty. Tie never washed but sponged if dirty.

Sports kit washed weekly unless filthy & needing to be done more often.

He's 16 now but I've followed the same routine since he was 4.

notso · 07/03/2014 11:09

When it's dirty I wash it.
DD 13 wears a clean shirt everyday, her choice.
DS1 9 changes his polo shirt on a Wednesday in winter, daily in Summer as he wears no jumper.
DD has one skirt, DS has two pairs of trousers.
They both only have one jumper.

I am always amazed at how much unnecessary washing people do, and how much people spend on excess uniform.

ginmakesitallok · 07/03/2014 11:10

God I feel manky now. Dd has clean socks/ tights and undies daily. A shirt lasts a couple of days, and her skirt cardi only gets changed when its dirty. Always clean on a Monday

WitchWay · 07/03/2014 11:10

Jumper used to be washed weekly but he never wears it now!

Monetbyhimself · 07/03/2014 11:10

It's come full circle really. When they were very small and messy, it was clean jumper and skirt or trousers every day. Then as they got a bit older, every couple of days. Now DD is a tween, she needs fresh shirt and trousers every day.

nonameslefttouse · 07/03/2014 11:12

Full set each day ds is 9 and like a muck magnet!

I'm hopeful dd isn't that bad when she starts school

AdoraBell · 07/03/2014 11:13

Fresh blouse/polo and skirt daily. Sweaters are usually okay for a few days unless DD1 does her bestHmm.

Balaboosta · 07/03/2014 12:14

And while we're on this subject - what is that school smell that smells so, well, school-y?

MrsCakesPremonition · 07/03/2014 12:17

Clean polo shirts every day.
Bottoms worn for 2 or 3 days each.
Ds has a clean jumper most days. DD has her cardigan washed once a week.

I have enough bits for them so that we only run a uniform laundry load once a week.

FiscalCliffRocksThisTown · 07/03/2014 12:18

they get a clean set on Monday, then again on Wednesday or Thursday.

Every day, really?! Wow, I have plenty of laundry as it is!

hiddenhome · 07/03/2014 12:18

Fresh uniform every day.

2rebecca · 07/03/2014 12:20

trousers and skirts last several days unless dirty, I don't wash my skirts and trousers every time I wear them, they last longer that way. Shirts and blouses changed daily.

Muminneed60 · 07/03/2014 12:21

Shirt changed daily.

Skirt and jumper changed once there are visible stains. Usually 2-3 times a week.

OpalQuartz · 07/03/2014 12:23

If their clothes have marks on them they go in the wash, but otherwise:

Clean underwear, tights, shirt - daily

Skirts, cardigans, ties - get worn a few days.

When they wore sweatshirts in reception they needed washing daily as they got more dirty than they do now.

PETRONELLAS · 07/03/2014 12:23

Clean every day purely because I can't stand the 'school' smell on him b

OpalQuartz · 07/03/2014 12:24

I am the same with my own clothes, ie. I wear trousers and cardis a few days, but everything else is washed daily

MerryMarigold · 07/03/2014 12:25

Oh my days!

Dd is fairly dirty. I tend to change her polo once a week (she doesn't yet have BO - she is 5) and her dress/ cardigan maybe twice a week depending how often they had custard or yoghurt for lunch Wink. Tights every 2 days and underwear every day.

Ds2 is very, very clean. I don't change anything except underwear and socks daily. He wears them the whole week! I was quite proud of that till I read this thread! Saves money (electricity and laundry powder), effort (washing, hanging, putting away), the environment (electricity and detergent). It's a no brainer.

OpalQuartz · 07/03/2014 12:25

Their school summer dresses get washed daily
