I've come here for the traffic

Basically my last period was the 2/2 - 6/2 I had sex with a guy on the 8/2 however we used a condom. We slept together on the 12th 2/3 times without a comdom which was a MASSIVE mistake. I got back together with my ex on the 16th and we had sex numberous times thought the week and every time after usually 1-3 a day a couple of days a week I was on micronor and took it the same time everyday. The only days I missed out on were 20th & 22nd I was also put on antibiotics around the same time

I've just found out I'm pregnant My phone says I'm 5 days late but that is wrong sometimes by up to 2/3 days to early.

My average length is 26 days and my letaul phase As I worked out was 12 days (according to my phone so could be wrong)

Am I right in thinking it will be my ex/current partners.

I know I was stupid I never saw myself in this situation!

MrsDV it's not an internal as such like an internal examination, just like a wand with an ultrasound probe instead. You are not usually touched by anything other than the wand, so no one is stuffing fingers up you like for an internal examination. I've had about 30 in the course of fertility treatment. In all of the stuff I have been though, it was probably the most minimally invasive!

OpalQuartz · 07/03/2014 16:42

I wasn't saying it was normal to have an early internal scan for every pregnancy, I meant that if someone has an early scan, for whatever reason, it tends to be an internal one as they can see more. My early ones were because of recurrent mc.

When I had my pregnancies after my recurrent mcs they didn't scan me until 7 weeks as they said no point until then. (If I remember rightly.) So 4 weeks seems early for them to scan for bleeding, but maybe things have moved on since i had my kids. (Now 6 and 9.)

OpalQuartz · 07/03/2014 16:51

Or maybe I've misread the thread.

Comeatmefam · 07/03/2014 17:00

Why did OP change user name half way through, I'm confused?

Opal - I had a scan at 4 weeks following bleeding, 13 years ago (all was well, my dd's now 12).

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 07/03/2014 17:01

I've had early internal scans with both pregnancies due to bleeding. In my first pregnancy it was at 5 weeks as they said they would be unlikely to see anything externally at that stage. That was at the EPU. 4 weeks is very early. Most people haven't even found out by then!

Playdoughcaterpillar · 07/03/2014 17:01

If you took all your pills properly up to the 20th then it's more likely it is your current partners but micronor only reliable when you take it within a 3 hr window every day.

They took blood as well to monitor my hcg levels I just have to go back Sunday around the same time.

I was a high risk in my last pregnancy so maybe that was part of the reason for the scan?

MyPrettyToes · 07/03/2014 17:23

As I am very high risk I am always under the care of a obstetrician and as soon I have BFP he begins to monitor me closely. With my last baby (nearly 10 months old now) I had my first internal at 5.6 weeks and then another at 7 weeks. He expressly said 4 weeks would be too early (I wanted it this early Blush). This is under private care not NHS. I do have bleeding in my pregnancies from conception but he only suggests scan if I bleeding is heavy and clotted. So I am impressed that op managed to get one on (I assume) the nhs for bleeding at 4 weeks.

Hope all is well with you and baby op.

Northernlurker · 07/03/2014 17:25

Crikey Op - you've a lot going on there. Given you already have a young child, a very complicated personal life, you're only 21 and your last pregnancy was high risk I have to ask - are you SURE you want to go ahead with this?

Anonymai · 07/03/2014 17:25

How did you even get offered a scan? Who knew about the high risk and arranged it for you so quickly? I'm curious because I had such a different experience.

SuchABadTime · 07/03/2014 17:40

I'll phoned my gp and told him he arranged it. My gp is quite good

OpalQuartz · 07/03/2014 17:41

Comeatmefam Was that NHS or private?

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 07/03/2014 17:42

Wow - your NHS trust is clearly way better organised than mine.

Anonymai · 07/03/2014 17:46

Wow, he must be very good if he spoke to you on the phone and got you booked in with an early appointment with the EPU so all before 9am! I want your doctor.

allisgood1 · 07/03/2014 17:51

Really? Because most EPUs won't scan before 6 weeks unless you're unsure of your dates by a lot. And you had bleeding but just found out?

SuchABadTime · 07/03/2014 17:59

Yes really

Should I not of said anything?

x2boys · 07/03/2014 18:02

Just catching up all this I cant have kids buissness is crap I thought I couldn't as have pcos and my mentrul cycle was anything from 4 weeks to six months two boys later conceived naturally obviously I was wrong. a friend of my sisters was told her daughter was a fluke and she would never have another child bam a few weeks later she found out she was pregnant another friend of my sister needed all kinds of fertility to conceive her daughter four years later found out she was 16 weeks pregnant with her son doctors are not always right I hope your ok op and your pregnancy goes well.

Anonymai · 07/03/2014 18:03

Maybe the high risk is why they did it?

OP, can I be nosy and ask you why you are considered high risk?

Northernlurker · 07/03/2014 18:05

I'm very concerned to read the OP may be high risk. That's not a great situation to be having a baby in with no partner support and another young child so dependant on you. Op - what was the situation before? Do you know how likely it is to recur?

SuchABadTime · 07/03/2014 18:13

I was high risk because I was rather fat, I had blood pressure they couldn't keep below normal and my son was growing rather slow, I then had a cat-1 c-section and we both nearly died. I was single when I found out I was pregnant with my son I did all that on my own even gave birth to him with no friends or family with me.

I can't comment on the c-section risk I have to decide if I want a vbac or c-section.

Northernlurker · 07/03/2014 18:18

Does your GP know the history because tbh I don't think any of the should justify a scan so early. It puts you through all the anxiety of the scan plus the dildo aspect and for very little gain. I think you have been very badly advised.
Incidentally - and please appreciate I am a mother and it's my job to say this kind of thing - you've been pregnant alone once now you've got pregnant again, it seems through making some unwise sexual decisions. You need to sort your life out. Pregnancy in this situation is not good for you and your life chances. It's not about what kind of mum you can be. It's about what's right for you, the person. This is NOT the time and place for fairy stories. There is no happily ever after.
