Someone has stolen my username.

I'm quite upset, I shouldn't be really.

I wouldn't be to bothered but they seem to post a lot more than me so are effectively making me the 'second' BumpandGrind.

Why would you pick a name of another member but just change the spelling slightly :(

My first username was Tooblessedtobestressed. I went on to post on a thread and a few posts before me saw that 2blessed2bestressed had posted. We waved to each other but i later changed because it was just too long.

I have not seen anyone with my name so i guess i am the only and if there is another Blessed out there i say i am the original tooSmile

There is a Farley out there somewhere and people mistype my username most of the time occasionally and that confuses me but never seen another Knuts or variation of and lurk more than post anyway so couldn't claim to be too put out if I did!

Oh Dear.

I'm really not bothered, honest Guv!

I saw the username, posted on the thread, realised it was off topic so started my own thread in amusement and sent a PM to the other Bump so she could join in the fun.

I haven't always been Bump, I've been here since 2010 but have only been bump since my bfp last May.

As a previous poster mentioned, I do normally hang out in chat.

159 posts wow, that seems a lot to me. I don't post, I have HFA, don't have real female friends. I learn everything about the world from you guys, read a hell of a lot of MN, just fail to join in.

Oh and to clear up the can you use someones previously used name... yes you can. I was BumpNGrind first, but I didn't like the way it had a capital N and G next to each other so changed it (did I mention HFA Grin )

Oh and while I have your attention. When I joined MN I didn't want children. I was fascinated by childbirth though and midwifery was my latest aspie interest. You made then sound so good, rewarding, selfless, joyful, etc. I eventually wanted a go. I had my DD in October - You people, whoever you are, have given me the most precious gift ever. Thank you.

That post is rather presumptive that and will change. I had assumed that the jury was still deliberating but that post suggests that N is slightly bullying and into changing. Added to and 's lovely latest post, I think and should keep the name.

It actually really pisses me off when I see names like ^hypotheticalexample1", when they have obviously tried it without a number and were told it was taken.

MardyBra I don't see how you get that N is bullying. As far as I could tell she was minding her own business before OP started being precious and making comments and entire threads at her about "copying" the name. I know the OP meant it as light hearted but even light heartedly I think it's not quite on and a bit harsh to say N is bullying when she doesn't seem to even give that much of a toss about the name, it is only And who was making it an issue Confused

MardyBra, if you read back a couple of pages AND says she's changing her name, i don't mind either way but I just said to say hi to me when she has her new name. I'm sorry that you think that's bullying but actually I don't see too many thread created about other poster, like this one was about me.

I've used this name since something similar happened to me under my old name, OP. There are lots of badgers but we all seem to coexist and resist any culling attempts. I would change more but I'm on a couple of long running threads have you seen the hugely successful Archers threads in RadioAddicts :)

It's strange - I've had at least 6/7 NN's on MN over the years, yet they all seem to be fairly unique!

I think I'm pretty unique... Of all the names I've seen AnyFucker makes me laugh because her posts are often really heartfelt and sweet and then you see they are from someone called... AnyFucker.

This place is full of flipping Annies. There are at least 10 of us. I don't think any other women's name is nearly as popular! Grin

But perhaps it would be helpful if MN had a way to show you similar names already registered when you try out a username, because otherwise you won't know if one you want is similar to someone else's unless you've seen them posting.

Strangely enough there's never many ferrets...

especially not ones as amazing as moi

I got talking to another ferret a few years back and it turned out she was from the same town I lived in!

I agree with boffy, similar names can't be avoided this is a bloody large forum. but when someone has obviously typed in (for example) AmazingBouncingFerret but were then told it was taken and then come back with AmazingBouncingFerret01. that's annoying.
