My dh works in a large company and is the assistant manager of a small team (10ish people), and he has been signed off sick all week as he has tonsillitis.

One of the women on the team sent him a photo of a box of doughnuts saying- look what you're missing out on.

And then saying how much she misses him in work and that it's so quiet without him and he needs to hurry back etc.

Aibu to not like this?

OP posts:
mercibucket · 15/02/2014 21:54

possibly not when said directly to another poster though
ah for the good old days

HighlanderMam · 15/02/2014 21:55

It might be, but it's also 'standard' for it to be deleted as well.

PiperRose · 15/02/2014 21:55

But the passive-aggressiveness of 'love' and 'pet' is?

HighlanderMam · 15/02/2014 21:57

Is what? In the spirit of the site? I wouldn't have thought so, it's rather goady. But the poster who uses those terms won't be deleted. So I guess they're smarter in the long run.

mercibucket · 15/02/2014 21:58

yeah the whole pa 'love' and 'pet' is pretty frowned upon but sadly more and more common
i prefer a direct insult myself

AmIthatWintry · 15/02/2014 21:59

ah well, I missed that I directed tit to one inidividual poster. Other than that, i stand by eveything else

hickorychicken · 15/02/2014 21:59

Smarter maybe, more cuntish.. definately.

HighlanderMam · 15/02/2014 22:01

Haha hickorychicken yes that maybe so. Grin

sadbodyblue · 15/02/2014 22:10

oh and is the sign for hash tag now used on mumsnet?

good grief it's so cool my 4 twenties and teens will be on here soon... or Perhaps not on balance.

they are fairly mature.

PiperRose · 15/02/2014 22:14

Well at least they've deleted the one where AmI was called sad and pathetic. That's not nice either.

PiperRose · 15/02/2014 22:16

Calling someone pathetic is also a step too far Sad

HighlanderMam · 15/02/2014 22:18

Oh I really don't think you're one to judge on what's nice or not piperrose.

You are the one who loved joining in on the deleted TAAT calling people batshit crazy and the like, are you not?

Highlander no worries

and you others really mumsnet is a fantastic forum. lots of laughs, support and help here but personally I feel the nastiness has no place here.

if you can't take a joke or take the piss back then best not bother to post.

HighlanderMam · 15/02/2014 22:37

If you think it is a troll thread the correct thing to do is report it so MNHQ can investigate and decide.

revealall · 15/02/2014 22:38

Sorry this may have been said already, but isn't flirting with people the best part of being at work?
Aside from being paid which is for the most part, disappointing.
It's nothing to do with being married or not .It's just making work slightly more bearable.

HighlanderMam · 15/02/2014 22:41

No, funnily enough that's not been said already revealall Hmm

Your honesty is refreshing, although the content of your post makes me question your morals.

PiperRose · 15/02/2014 22:44

I did think about it, but it proved far too interesting.

sadbodyblue · 15/02/2014 22:44

piper most mumsnetters have been deleted. I know I have. it's no big deal.

gloating? no just having a laugh. you are taking this far too seriously and if you had/want to be in mumsnet you need to develop a very very thick skin.

revealall Run, run as fast as you can.

Piperrose Grin

She speaks so honestly about it though! Like it's no biggy at all,

"Oh yeah, I flirt with all the married/unmarried guys at my work, it's what gets me through the day."

Laughable if it wasn't so... not funny.
