To be upset because he did a poo in my loo? And took photos.

Boiler engineer was fixing my boiler today(emergency repair). Heard him go into showeroom opposite where boiler was and shut the door. He was in there for absolutely ages! When he left, i saw that he had used a whole load of toilet cleaner so he had obviously poo ed in there.

I am so upset because he did not ask me if he could use it. I had a whole load of my daughters' freshly laundered clothes and their personal towels drying on the heated towel rail in there. If he had asked me to use the loo, obviously I would have said yes (i always do when asked) but this would have given me the chance to quickly clear their stuff away and to give him a clean guest towel. As it was, there was no guest towel in there, only their stuff. And it is a tiny room and he would definitely have brushed against their things just getting to the loo. And what didhe dry/ wipe his (pooey) hands on?Aaagh!

Also later i heard clicking camera noises and when i went to see what was going on, the boiler guy was indeed taking photos in my boiler cupboard. I should have asked him what he was doing...... But I didnt and now i'm worrying since after he left i saw that there was an plastic bag of old bank statements/ receipts/ papers in there that DH at some stage must have shoved in there.

Just feel horrible. Am i being silly? Should i just bite my lip or say something to his office(he works for a small local company a couple of minutes away). Will definitely not have him back.

You are definitely being silly about the toilet thing.

Photos in the boiler cupboard sounds odd though.

DoJo · 05/02/2014 18:26

Why would his hands have been pooey? Is there no sink in there? Or a hand towel which you use when you go to the toilet?
I really don't see the problem, either with him pooing or taking a photo of the boiler, but you sounds pretty anxious about all this? Are you normally worried about things like this?

expatinscotland · 05/02/2014 18:26

Complain to his company! He should have asked.

pixiepotter · 05/02/2014 18:29

so many questions
You are going to complain about him using your toilet? what would you rather he did- shit on the carpet?
Why would you think he was taking a photo of your bank statements rather than the boiler he was there to mend
why does it matter if he brushed against your washing, and why would his hands be pooey?

JennyOnAPlate · 05/02/2014 18:30

Did you actually see a camera? It could have been the boiler making the noise?

DrNick · 05/02/2014 18:30

toilet - you sound unhinged

camera - nuts

Topseyt · 05/02/2014 18:31

I can't understand why he would want to take photos of the inside of the boiler cupboard, but I also can't understand why anyone would store a bag of old bank statements in there either.

From your title I actually thought you meant he had taken a photo of his poo in your loo, which would definitely be gross.

I think though, that you are being daft about the toilet visit, but you are right to be suspicious about the photos in the boiler cupboard, especially with bank statements in there.

JennyOnAPlate · 05/02/2014 18:31

And please don't phone his company to complain that he used your loo...that would be ridiculous.

Nicknacky · 05/02/2014 18:31

I read the title and thought he had taken photos of his poo. Thankfully, he hadn't.

DanceParty · 05/02/2014 18:31

YABU to expect any workman to come to your house and hold in his ablutions for hours and hours. Perhaps he was just taking photos of the work he did so he can prove to the office he did it?

Paranoid much?

AnyFucker · 05/02/2014 18:31

You are being silly

RunRunRuby · 05/02/2014 18:31

Surely he would've washed his hands and dried them on one of the towels (do you not just have a hand towel for drying hands on?). You could always wash the towel(s) if it really bothers you. Presumably he was clothed so what harm will come from him possibly brushing against some drying clothes? Confused sorry I don't really get what the problem is here at all, so I think YABabitU. Also I wouldn't have expected him to come and ask if he could use the loo, unless it was upstairs and he had only been working downstairs or something like that.

The photo thing is a bit weird but perhaps he was taking photos of the repairs for his records or insurance purposes?

RunRunRuby · 05/02/2014 18:32

Oops cross posted with lots of people. I also thought he'd taken a photo of the poo and was wondering how you'd found out.

Mrsmorton · 05/02/2014 18:33

Do you suffer from anxiety because your reaction to this isn't normal IMO? Why would he be covered in poo? Most adults can use the loo without smearing themselves in faeces. If he had asked to use your loo, would you have asked him to specify number one or number two, if he had said number one would that have been ok? You are definitely overreacting. YBVVVU

aliena · 05/02/2014 18:34

So it is ok to find out where someone's loo is and then use it without asking? As i said, i would have said yes if he had asked.

Nataleejah · 05/02/2014 18:35

LOL

Nicknacky · 05/02/2014 18:36

It wouldn't really bother me, esp of he was near it. But you sound overly stressed about it?

pixiepotter · 05/02/2014 18:36

i would have said yes if he had asked.

so where is the problem?

DrNick · 05/02/2014 18:37

YOU ARE NUTS OP

there

Fairylea · 05/02/2014 18:37

You're being daft about the toilet. He needed a poo, the toilet was visible and there. Maybe he thought he was being polite just using it without bothering you to ask? - as most people would definitely say go ahead!

He could have been taking photos of the repairs for his boss perhaps or if he has to return (?) To know which parts he needs? It a bit odd but I wouldn't say anything.

WitchWay · 05/02/2014 18:40

I thought poo photos - quite disappointed really

Probably photographing what he's done to the boiler so as to upload a record onto company files in case you have a problem

Most likely not photographing all the old receipts & bank stuff but if concerned speak to your financial companies, change cards etc

MrsFlorrick · 05/02/2014 18:40

Most central heating engineers take photos of their work/installations.

For their own records if there is a dispute later.

Can't imagine it was anything other than that.

As for him having a poo in your loo. Well isnt that what you loo is for?

It's not as if he hunkered down and deposited a massive shite on the floor is it?

NewBeginings · 05/02/2014 18:40

This is very silly. He used the toilet for it's intended purpose and then cleaned up after himself...what's the problem??

sparklystar27 · 05/02/2014 18:41

I have just been laughing out loud so ,much I cried. No offence but yes, you are being unreasonable!!! And I too thought you meant he'd pooed and then photographed his poo but even so I wouldn't worry! And don't complain to his company. What is he meant to do not go to the toilet all day?!! Yeah, he should have asked but its no biggie. I hope you gave him a cuppa and a biscuit or two as well.

ougnh · 05/02/2014 18:41

Man uses toilet. NOT something to be concerned about. OP, you are crazy.
