Parcel arrived on the 2nd of January

it was a delivery that the delivery people put it under there doormat

I took it in in case of theft

We live in flats

I put a note threw their door

It's not been collectected

can I open it and keep it now?

LRD- DFOD

RoseRedder · 31/01/2014 19:46

errm i live in a highrise which has 3 known drug users/thiefs on my landing

If a delivery driver left a parcel on my doorstep I'd be happy my neighbour took it in rather than left it there to be stolen

So if you have such an issue with it why haven't you been to knock on their door and see if they're in to hand it over

SaucyJack · 31/01/2014 19:48

...........But you've just stolen it instead.

I doubt it's any great consolation to the owners that it's been nicked by a better class of thief.

TheWitTank · 31/01/2014 19:49

But you are about to open it and keep it. So you are no better than your dubious neighbours. I don't know why you care so much. Go and put it back and don't accept/take anything else in for them. It's not your problem.

Teeb · 31/01/2014 19:50

As you removed the parcel from its original location with no requests made of you to do so, the onus is now upon you to return the parcel to its rightful owner (ie not you.)

MrsCakesPremonition · 31/01/2014 19:50

So sellotape a note over their keyhole asking them to collect it immediately or you will assume that they want you to keep it as a gift. Put a time limit on it - by Monday morning or something.

HyvaPaiva · 31/01/2014 19:50

Three known thieves? Four thieves you mean? You stole it!

IndigoTea · 31/01/2014 19:51

Hey is that my parcel? Please return it! Smile

RoseRedder · 31/01/2014 19:51

I've knocked and knocked until I feel like a bad knock knock joke

I'll just put it outside their door and when one of the junkies come and steal will what the hell , I did the right thing

candycoatedwaterdrops · 31/01/2014 19:51

Doesn't seem like you've made much effort to return it....

CoffeeTea103 · 31/01/2014 19:52

All these threads about yodel, now we know what else happens.

Viviennemary · 31/01/2014 19:52

Go and knock on their door. And try again a few times. If you don't get them in return parcel to post office and explain what happened.

candycoatedwaterdrops · 31/01/2014 19:53

Sellotape a note to the door!

RoseRedder · 31/01/2014 19:53

I haven't even opened it!

But I'd like to Grin

Seriously - you've come on here to ask if it ok to steal a parcel.

You are not the local lost and found office are you?

Seriously

MsLT · 31/01/2014 19:55

KNOCK ON THEIR DOOR.

RoseRedder · 31/01/2014 19:55

I have knocked on their door twice a day for the last 29 days

What more can I do?

Open the package and melt it and slide it through their letterbox?

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 31/01/2014 19:55

Confused Parcel angst. Does it have a return label-send it back?

MsLT · 31/01/2014 19:56

AGAIN!!!!!

Sparklingbrook · 31/01/2014 19:56

I hope it's not the neighbour's life saving medication. Sad

FourAndDone · 31/01/2014 19:57

Rose just open it!Grin

MsLT · 31/01/2014 19:57

Actually, just take it to the post office and hand it in if you've knocked a million times with no answer!

LRDtheFeministDragon · 31/01/2014 19:57

Then maybe they're away? And the parcel arrived late?

Or maybe they didn't get your note and have no clue where their parcel has gone.

Just put it back FFS. Unless you actually want what's in it why wouldn't you?
