I used to sport the landing strip up until I was about 6 months pregnant with ds who is now 2. I stopped shaving as I couldn't see what I was doing, also might sound daft but kind of wanted it to be the way nature intended to give birth.
Since then I haven't shaved, waxed, trimmed etc. I'm not massively hairy so it's not a full on 80s style bush.
DP moaned the other day as he liked it the way I used to have it. Hmm. I sort of told him tough luck it's my bits and quite frankly I cba and like not having itchy stubble. He watched our Baby come out of there fgs surely he realises it's not a fashion accessory?
AIBU to not make the effort for dp?

I used to shave legs and pits and cut the hair around the sides. Do tache and brows and nipple hair.

H left in November and I haven't done anything since. My legs are hairy but my new favourite thing to do, possibly comfort blanket style, is to tuck my hand into my pit and stroke the now quite long hair Blush.

I keep thinking "I should..." but get in the shower and get washed while admiring how long all my hair is getting Grin.

I shave my armpits and legs, but pubic hair wise just tidy up a little around the edges if swimming.

I was once fully shaven, under pressure, and hated it. Realise it's all down to personal choice but for me there was no way it was more sensual. I felt really exposed, and realised how in a way, for me, the hair had helped me to feel more turned on because I actually didn't like the direct pressure on exposed bits. And then the itchy agony of regrowth. Not something I will ever be doing again.

stopprocrastinating · 19/01/2014 16:42

I've never shaved down there, except bikini line.

sussexmum38 · 19/01/2014 16:52

I trim in the summer for when I go swimming and let it grow wild for the rest of the year. It has a nice feel when it is in full bush.

BradleyCoopersCurlyPerm · 19/01/2014 17:30

Not only do I shave everything off, but I also have a tattoo there too.

I much prefer the feeling of being clean shaven, and always have done. I like to touch smooth skin, and do feel cleaner. I think I'm quite a hairy person by nature and sweat too much and I suppose the thought of sweat accumulating in either pit, pubic or arse hair throughout the day is quite vile to me really.

I also like to receive oral sex, which is enhanced by the added sensitivity I experience through having no hair.

I'm 28 and haven't given birth, but doubt my minge makes me look at all child-like, given that I'm quite a curvy woman really. And for what its worth, a lot of my friends, male and female, do talk about their preferences.

SayMyNameSayIt · 19/01/2014 18:14

I stopped waxing when pregnant as it was too sore. Couldn't wait to get back to it. The whole lot off was a surprise for my dh's 40th 6 years ago!

He loved it. I love it. Hurts like hell. But I wouldn't go back. I feel cleaner and fresher. Plus I get a whole lot more ahem, attention, there!!!

Each to their own. Just my own particular preference. I'm 45 so not a young thing.

SayMyNameSayIt · 19/01/2014 18:16

bradley

Just read your comment. Agree with you 100%.

chrome100 · 19/01/2014 18:20

I'm 32 and have very little pubic hair. It takes all of 2 mins to maintain everyday and is really not a huge effort. I swim every day so don't have to worry on that front and I prefer it. I don't give a fuck what anyone else thinks.

scantilymad · 19/01/2014 18:20

For the love of god take some paracetomal before you get your upper lip threaded. Amazing results but a pain like no other.

GhettoFabulous · 19/01/2014 19:10

It makes me laugh when (primarily) young people talk about having more/enhanced oral sex with no pubes. Because we never had oral sex in the hairy olden days, right?

SayMyNameSayIt · 19/01/2014 19:40

I had plenty of oral sex way back when I was still furry. I much prefer it now and so does my DH. I just like the feeling of smooth skin and I personally find it easier to keep and feel clean.

Again, just my personal opinion and not an attack on anyone. Each to their own.

MostWicked · 19/01/2014 19:44

Ghetto I'm not young. I've had oral sex with and without pubic hair. Both are good, but hairless is the absolute hands down winner. There is a bigger area that can be kissed, licked and nibbled without any hair either getting in the way, or diluting the sensations.

ChrisTheSheep · 19/01/2014 19:48

Untrimmed here: it's not hugely rampant, and tbh I don't really see the need. It's always washed and clean, so it shouldn't be offensive Grin

BadRoly · 19/01/2014 19:55

Alchemist I do the pit muff stroking thing too. It us strangely comforting Blush

Yellowbeboo · 19/01/2014 19:59

I have just about finish a course of laser removal, it's not all gone, just a tiny bit left so I'm not bald and I don't have to worry about any regrowth. I highly recommend!

Weelady77 · 19/01/2014 20:01

Yellow was it sore?? Does the hair have to be certain colour texture for it??

ebwy · 19/01/2014 20:06

I'm as the goddess intended me to be... and no man has ever complained about it either (it'd be the last time he saw it if he did)

Yellowbeboo · 19/01/2014 20:11

I'd say it was less painful than waxing especially further along the course and there is not much left! Darker hair on white skin has the best results apparently, and it must be laser not IPL.

JackNoneReacher · 19/01/2014 20:23

weelady same as yellow I wax and laser. Stings a bit, but less that waxing. The darker the hair, the more effective laser is.

Weelady77 · 19/01/2014 20:25

Ah damn I'm fairHmm I don't mind waxing I think it's relaxing

bourneout · 19/01/2014 21:40

just the odd wax now to catch the strays. I had laser in my 30's as I used to be very "blessed" with a lot of bikini line growth and since then any maintenance has been minimal.

I was actually surprised when my beautician told me that a lot of the women that see her for Hollywoods and Brazilians are older. Mentioned this to DP who was very intrigued and has since been speculating about which of the mums on the school run are bush free! He has been trying to get me to ask but I have declined!

Normalisavariantofcrazy · 19/01/2014 21:50

Trimmed. Shaven for swimming if I Cba to go!

I'm fair but very hairy (and hate it!)

DH shaves all his off and I wish he wouldn't, it looks ridiculous!

MostWicked · 19/01/2014 22:07

It's always washed and clean, so it shouldn't be offensive

No-one has suggested that pubic hair is offensive. Some people just prefer to be hair free.

BradleyCoopersCurlyPerm · 20/01/2014 03:43

Each to their own, mind. But it really gets on my tits when other women assume / insist that I like to be hair free to please men, conform or because of porn. The reality is that it is my own preference and always has been, because I have a mind of my own and can both think and decide for myself.

And of course oral sex is enhanced as there's no hair in the way! Bare skin is far more sensitive too.

I might look into laser treatment.
