To love Frys Chocolate?

SPsDoesntLikeChaffingFishnets · 11/11/2013 19:07

I don't really like dark chocolate but I love Frys.

I have a bar of mint cream and one orange cream.

I think the Orange is my favourite. It also reminds of my Great Grandfather who uses to sneak us it in church.

He used to tell us it was magic and kept him alive.

Anyone else?

I will happily investigate the staff shop tomorrow and see what is on offer. I don't like Fry's myself, but someone in my office got some Sour Patch Kids today and I could do with a supply of those!

Shit, I think there was some kind of cardboard conspiracy going on, I'm sure walnut whip had a little tray too.
For what it's worth, this may only be relevant to people who lived in Scotland way back when, I have three tins if cream old foam at home. Let my two DCs have some cola flavour during the summer, they began to calm down around last week and the stain is slowly coming out of the stone patio where it became ever so slightly fizzy. My sneezes are back to normal too!

tasteslikechicken thank goodness someone else remembers banjos and nutty bars! I really thought I must have dreamt them up as no one else has ever remembered them.

Hopefully someone might also be able to remember these and confirm I'm not crazy - Pyramint (by Terry's I think), Ovaltine bars and - sorry not chocolate but this thread is my only hope - fruit flavoured Toffoes, stripy spearmint chewy sweets called Pacers and crisps called Wickers that looked like tiny little pillows??

Flavoured Toffos were amazing - the banana ones rocked my world!

Now that you've described Pacers I remember them. I don't generally like mints but they were quite mild if I remember rightly.

Don't remember Pyramint or Wickers though - sorry

mrsbrown, do keep up. I was dishing out pacers on page three. I'm quite interested on a deal for the fruit flavoured toffees though. Would you deal for a packet of "Spanish Gold". Go on, hold out yer hand!

Whatever happened to Mint Cracknell - I loved that. Also loved fruit Toffos and remember Pacers.

My gran used to always buy me Bournville. I love Frys mint as well, not had one for ages - I used to take one bit off at a time and nibble all the chocolate off round the edges first.

Charleybarley - shut up! They did not do orange After Eights did they? How did I miss that?

I'm still gutted that Terry's have done away with the hazelnut Chocolate Orange before I even got to try it. Fuck off with all the popping candy in everything!!!

Mrsbrownsgirl I think we frequented the same sweet shop. I loved Pyramint. I remember Biarritz chocolates - the box was really exotic looking.

My all time favourites though were Coconut Boosts and Topper bars which I think were made by Terrys?

No, no ,no. Spanish Gold was coconut strands, supposed to loom like chewing tobacco. Nicotine themed sweets were all the rage, I was on about forty Tom & Jerrys a day. Bazooka Joes helped me kick the habit though.
The chewing gum in the litte draw string bag was fools gold.

Talking of gold etc, anyone remember bullion bars? A big thick wedge of toffee in a foil tray.

Oh those golf ball bubble gums as well. Tasted if nothing and so hard they nearly broke your teeth but we still loved them.

As well as the lips that tasted of soap
