To love Frys Chocolate?

SPsDoesntLikeChaffingFishnets · 11/11/2013 19:07

I don't really like dark chocolate but I love Frys.

I have a bar of mint cream and one orange cream.

I think the Orange is my favourite. It also reminds of my Great Grandfather who uses to sneak us it in church.

He used to tell us it was magic and kept him alive.

Anyone else?

Its not recognised enough is Fry's.

I do not know any open Fry lovers unless they all.creep in the shadows

We used to have it at Christmas, this brings back memories. My Dad's first job was at Fry's many years ago.

Jbck · 11/11/2013 20:32

Posted on here the other day that I hadn't had any since I was a child, my Dad loves Fry's cream or dark choc bounty.

Had one at the weekend, delish!

Heartbrokenmum73 · 11/11/2013 20:34

Tasteslikechicken - yes yes yes!

I don't know anybody that remembers Cabana. I just loved the fact that they had the cherries in them.

Are me and my Mum the only ones who liked Cadbury's Fuse bars when they were out, about 20 years ago

ConfusedDotty · 11/11/2013 20:35

Never eaten chocolate in years, yes I am some sort of freak. But, but Fry's Five Centre was the best, it evolved from strawberry to orange, and the original one, just white in the middle, mint also was yumalicous.

Golden Cup, they were great

What was that chocolate in some sort of of fragile chocolate cage? Think it was Cadburys....Cadburys Secret???

Cabana, remember those?

For someone who dosen't like chocolate, I seem to know too much.

Do Mintolas still exist? And, their poorer cousins better known as Munchies?

tasteslikechicken · 11/11/2013 20:35

Who took the little cardboard tray out of bounty bars? Made it feel like a proper grown up sweet.
Texans should have been discontinued ASAP.

Banjo's, on the other hand should have become a national treasure.

whereisthewitch · 11/11/2013 20:36

Frys is definitely owned by Cadbury, my mum was at their factory recently and stocked up on frys cream and turkish delight!

SPsDoesntLikeChaffingFishnets · 11/11/2013 20:38

Dont care who owns it as long as they don't change it Grin

I got some flying saucers as well to let the toddler try

confused & heartbroken , I thought I was the only one. For all these years I've been burdened with the task of describing cabanas to people who clearly thought I was nuts. Ooh, talking of nuts, what about Nutty, they were quite something.

I still feel I'm the only living tuck shop survivor to rember the bliss that was a banjo.

EeyoreIsh · 11/11/2013 20:41

mmmm, I love frys chocolate, but it's so so sweet.

Heartbrokenmum73 · 11/11/2013 20:41

This is a seriously nostalgic thread!

I'd completely forgotten about the tray in Bounty.

Remember when chocolate bars were in thick paper and kind of stuck down with a little blob of glue. Caramel in particular was like that.

Happy days.

Spangles anyone?

mrsjay · 11/11/2013 20:42

Oh yes Mrsjay - After Eights are not for sharing - false advertising, that

It so is all those jolly laughing people handing the aftrer8s out after dinner where in reality it is me sitting like gollum daring anybody to come near

GirlWithTheDirtyShirt · 11/11/2013 20:42

I should know Fry's is Cadbury given I work for them.

mrsjay · 11/11/2013 20:44

Do Mintolas still exist? And, their poorer cousins better known as Munchies?

they are now called after8 munchies I think I dont share those either ,

mrsjay · 11/11/2013 20:44

you work for cadburys could you do us a deal gilr you know on the side Wink

VerySmallSqueak · 11/11/2013 20:45

I don't like the goo in mint Fry's.

If I want minty chocolate it's Matchmakers all the way.

Heartbrokenmum73 · 11/11/2013 20:46

After 8 Munchies are not nice - there's no biscuit in them - where's the Munch?

And pmsl laughing at the image of Mrsjay being all Gollum-like over her After Eights. 'My precious...'

tasteslikechicken · 11/11/2013 20:47

Spangles, old English. Brings a nostalgic tear to my eye.
heartbroken, I'll give you two pacers for three spangles.

mrsjay · 11/11/2013 20:48

yeah proper after6s are better but sometimes i am pmty I have to have them

GemmaTeller · 11/11/2013 20:48

I remember Secret - I loved them!!!!!

I also remember when Walnut Whips had a second piece of walnut inside.

Didn't Milky Way also have the little cardboard base as well?

Spangles mmm...mmm...mmm... esp the black ones and the (butterscotch?) ones.

SPsDoesntLikeChaffingFishnets · 11/11/2013 20:48

MatchMakers scratch the roof of my mouth. I can't eat them.

After 8's I hide. I'm not sharing them at all. I even tried Tesco's ones and they weren't no where near as good

Ladyface · 11/11/2013 20:49

Mintolas still exist although they are now called mint munchies. When I was little every Friday my dad would bring home a packet of either munchies or mintolas for my brother and I to share. They seemed to me to be very grown up sweets!

Btw yanbu - I love all Fry's chocolate cream varieties.

mrsjay · 11/11/2013 20:49

I once choked on a spangle I swear i almost died it was lodged for a while my friend had to batter me on the back

mrsjay · 11/11/2013 20:50

morrisons own brand used to be quite nice but they changed the recipe

Huitre · 11/11/2013 20:50

I adored Fry's Five Centres. I wish they would bring it back. Best chocolate bar ever.
