Disclaimer, I don't want to hear people's views on her per se, I just want to know if she has returned or not.
It's a nightmare doing a search as hundreds of bloody pages come up!

'Unless you know a poster personally, you know nothing about them.'
Absolutely right.

This. A hundred times this!

I think if i was AF i would probably name change the whole thing got out of hand and people who were defending her let it go on for days and days it maybe made her uncomfortable OR maybe she just came back and is posting under a new name , fwiw I liked AF posts but i do think as a poster on a forum you should be able to post when you want, I know people are missing her but ..

FrillyMcFluffPants. You'd soon spot her.

oh she has to change her name to this Grin

Just advanced search forthr last two weeks or so and see if any posts come up by Anyfucker? That shouldn't bring up pages and pages of results unless AF has been back and posting like a dervish

If no posts then PM her? I think that PMs still arrive in your inbox even if you have name changed but not sure

Just to clarify, my original question was has she returned, flounced or name changed.
I didn't ask what her new name was if she had namechanged, I was respecting their privacy.
So, the responses could have been,
Yes, she is back you will find her here.
No, she has left, see flouncers corner here.
I think she is still around but under a different name.

I realise the last part re namechange probably changed the emphasis of the question for many, sorry.

However, I still think the responses of who cares etc is interesting. If you're not interested, why answer or engage?

To suggest that if you do not know someone personally then you know nothing about them just doesn't make sense.

My point was I think you can tell when people are speaking with conviction and from experience and it is that experience which qualifies them to have a view.

I can not for the life of me see a problem with MNHQs comment on this thread.

I think people need to calm down TBH.

I have no idea who anyfucker is, but Op , why are you investing so much of yourself in an anonymous(sp) poster on an internet forum?
You know nothing about him/ her on real life. Bizzare Confused

JuneauWhoIAm · 08/11/2013 12:26

OP, you seem to be very involved in all this.

Have you a bone to pick with MNHQ or something?

Your examples of a Anyfucker being akin to your GP are a bit cringeworthy TBH.

mrsjay · 08/11/2013 12:27

wel what did you expect people to say I am sure if she wanted to announce her return she would you could have just PMd her to ask if she was ok and had she started posting again instead of another thread about it concern for a person is fine but you know do what people do and do it privately and Ask HER not mumsnetters

Report
mrsjay · 08/11/2013 12:28

and tbh this thread says more about you that you probably realise OP

OP I think you're reading far too much into MNHQs post.

Report
Gobbolinothewitchscat · 08/11/2013 12:37

well you know that your GP and accountant have formal qualifications and are regulated but he appropriate bodies. You also know their real names for verification purposes too so I think that analogy is a bit spurious

Anyfucker could be a very nice trucker called Harold who just happens to give out advice that you agree with. That does not mean that s/he has accountability or is comparable with a registered and regulated professional such as a GP

The only people who can say with certainty that AF is back is Mumsnet and they're not going to

So this feels a bit like flogging a dead horse

Anyfucker wont be back, I have it on good authority that she has switched to netmums forums.

And often on here it is the name. Lost count of the times I've seen many lesser known posters say something on a thread, then a well known poster says the exact same thing and suddenly there is a rush of agreement with that poster, ignoring everyone else who was saying the same. It's not the well known posters fault, but is often for some posters all about the name. Suckupcringeyitis tis known as in the medical world.

Report
lottieandmia · 08/11/2013 12:54

Yes, BlingBang you are right about that. I know of people who were 'well known' who found people responded very differently to them when they didn't post under their 'famous' name.

After all, remember Wig & Robe? Loads of people thought this poster was a genuine source of help and look how that turned out. I am not of course saying that AF is not who she says but it shows that unless you know people personally, reverence for a name on an internet forum is a nonsense.

She's probably still cringing at all the sycophantic wailing & elevation to godlike status that followed her barring.

I mean, every post would have to be gold plated to live up to half of the expectations her "friends" have.

If she's back and giving advice (and given the amount she posted in the past she will be) then it will still be the same advice and should be taken the same way.

Plus, she would then have to put up with all the "welcome back", "we've missed you" crap too & be too busy to actually help anyone!

Actually OP this is a really cringy thread. I'm embarrassed for you [ embarrassed]

AF and Maryz should be PAID contributors to MN. Their posts are always sensible, witty and often a combination of the two.

Credit where credit is due and all that.

AndYouCanDance · 08/11/2013 13:04

And you can be embarrassed Blush for me all you like Whistleblower. I name-change often enough for it not to affect me.

Are you AnyFucker OP, trying to drum up more pathetic support from your sycophantic (thanks Dixon) followers.

I've recently contributed to the Nasty people at the school gates thread (or similar) this place is getting to be just like that, bitchy one-upped ness, pathetic bleating about MNHQ.

Get a life you guys.

You're making MN look like a joke. Which is sad when it does, when not tantrumming, provide a lot of help and support.

"Bloody hell, I hope I've not reignited the whole drama."

Really? So that was not the point all along? Hmm

If she wants to be noticed, she will make herself known.
