Duchess of Cambridge has lost all her baby weight!! AIBU to think this is NOT front page news ffs

been meaning to post about this since saturday Blush

front page of the Sun (yes i know. and no i do NOT buy it) screaming "DUCHESS HAS GOT A FLAT TUM!!" or something like that. with massive pic of her with her top riding up showing her slim tummy. then there was a CLOSE UP of just her tummy area as well.

why is this news?? and who is it news to? i mean, good for her, she looks lovely of course. but really, who cares?

what is actually WITH the media obsession of how women look in pregnancy and afterwards?? and why are women held up as some sort of goddesses amongst women if they have enough personal trainers and time to diet, exercise etc are lucky enough to look great shortly after giving birth??

god no wonder so many women feel so shit about themselves Hmm

ps: am pg myself which is why it wound me up more i think

YANBU, didn't't some magazines and newspapers start that one the day after she came out of hospital? I seem to remember articles about her post baby exercise routine and whatnot.
Not front page news at all, not even news really, she bounced back well and looks great. The news editors would have probably preferred a picture of her looking bloated and tired though..

Yes, well, we all could have done it if we had personal trainers, full time nannies and nutritionists on staff.

And it's news for the brainless who can't handle real news. Hence being on the Sun instead of a real newspaper.

Em, what baby weight?

She didn't gain any! The little bump she had afterwards was just her uterus. Once that goes back down into the pelvis she looks the same as before. She's naturally slim and athletic. Lucky thing!

I must say I find this ^^ assumption that women who regain their pre pregnancy figures, have personal trainers/go to the gym/are on diets, quite odd and a bit tedious.

It's not unusual for a slim, fit woman with tight stomach muscles to go straight back to pre pregnancy shape, almost immediately after giving birth.

And that's with no special diet or exercise.

True; you go back to your normal weight if the only weight you put on is the baby, placenta and water, and perhaps a bit of fluid retention. As that was obviously the case with Kate, and as she is a very slim woman anyway, she really didn't need to do anything special.

I hated it as well OP, no need for it to be front page or any page for that matter. So what, some women snap back in to shape, some don't. Who gives a fuck?

Fwiw though I don't think she was keen to project that image, she seems lovely and down to earth and probably didn't think it would be that big a deal.

I just go to the best news sources for them. Doesn't everyone?

I think the media are probably happier about this 'news' than Kate is herself. I don't think she's the type to have been overly fussed about 'snapping back'. I'm sure her team of dieticians and personal trainers would prove me wrong though Wink

I'm more jealous of the seemingly no stretchmarks! Lucky bitch Wink

erm no as i said i DON'T think the DoC losing her baby weight is news, i find it pathetic that a newspaper thinks its front page news, which is what i have started the thread to chat about

also worra yes i am sure some women do naturally snap back esp if they are first time mums, very slim etc (i did with my first, #2 was quite another matter....:o ) but i would be very surprised if most celebs didn't have some sort of help.

oh it just all annoys me, the whole media obsession with scrutinising womens bodies as to whether they look good or not Angry

Tbh if she struggled with the HG and quite probably heartburn through the pregnancy (sorry for ignorance but HG doesn't just go away after a month or two does it?) she probably couldn't eat an awful lot, I couldn't and I only had heartburn and general morning sickness! That's the reason I just snapped back into shape all 3 times, the fact that I struggled to eat that much for 9 months went a long way to contributing to me being back in size 10 jeans 3 days after giving birth. I'm not particularly fit either!
Being able to actually eat a full meal did for me later on though...

I think the thing with most celebrities is that they tend to be in good shape before they get pregnant anyway, and that normally holds them in good stead to regain their shape.

I don't really care who regains their pre pregnancy figure or how they manage to do it.

Yes the media are obsessed with scrutinising womens bodies, but then ime so are many women.

I agree OP (and it's hardly double standards). I didn't read any of the papers that had this as the front page but when I was buying the Telegraph for MIL noticed that this featured as front page 'news' on the tabloids. The constant obsession with women's bodies is beyond irritating - so she's got a flat stomach after however many weeks it is since she had George? Big, fat, hairy deal.
