Becca was my favourite but I knew she'd be next out. I can't warm to Frances. I don't find Ruby annoying or Kimberley smug!

I think I'll be up for Frances next week, she was tooth achingly twee to start with but she's much more appealing now she's relaxed a bit. But as I say I'm not too bothered who wins. I think I used up all my GBBO emotion last year

I am actually considering entering GBBO, but I have a fundamental weakness. Custard. I just can't make anything needing a custard, Creme patisserie, egg custard, etc. If I had to do that, I'd be a Toby.

The sewing bee is so boring. No cake.

No danger either, you can't really injure yourself sewing or poison anyone either. Where's the excitement in that?!?

I can't imagine watching people sew is all that thrilling.

DP and I aren't slagging off Ruby for her "lack of confidence", but her obvious mugging to camera, her constant threatening to burst into tears if she hears anything even a little critical. To boil it down to a quality I hope we can all get on board with, all her drama queen crap Just Isn't British. This isn't the Great American Bakeoff, hosted by Jerry Springer or summat. It's British, and she's just plain unseemly.

To be honest, I suspected Ruby would survive the round, mainly because I started seeing a lot of articles about how "Paul doesn't really fancy Ruby...", which means that the BBC PR department is working overtime and for a reason, wanted to be pre-emptive, I guess. But even with that foreboding, I never thought the actual crap she was producing was going to get her through.

We really like shows like Masterchef (Amateurs and Professionals, NOT C'leb) and (prior to this series) GBBO mainly because we don't get a lot of crap and drama (like one would see in X-Factor or the Apprentice) and that talent will win. But I regret this series has cured us of that with GBBO.

I don't think Kimberly is criticised for being confident. She is criticised for being smug.

BTW, Great British Sewing Bee? The last series ended in late May. Do you know when the deadline for applying for the second series was? 9 June, just over a week later. How crap is that? absolutely not bitter about not being able to apply

Kimberly works as a psychologist, I think. But she trained in catering college, hence her overall technical skills. I think what we like about her is what some people don't - she's always dropping in little comments about technical knowledge. DP and I fell in love with her on an early round when she held up some dough to the light and said something about it needing to look like stained glass.

Maybe Ruby isn't a drama queen. Maybe she's just young, or shows exactly how she's feeling on her face

Well she should tell her face to perk up a bit then as it's cheesing us off
