To think this should be illegal? (not at all light hearted and very, very serious)

Ok it might not be that serious.

Surely it has to be illegal to sell boxes of chocolates without a little guide with pictures telling you what each one is. Just got a posh box of chocs, list of fancy chocolate names on the outside, but no guide to which was which. So I unknowingly ate a coffee one, yuk, yuk, yuk. Surely there should be some kind of law to stop innocent people from accidentally eating the horror that is a coffee flavoured chocolate.

Right, back to my other first world problems now

Coffee is my favourite Blush

Don't like nasty surprises though so YANBU. One bite into Turkish delight would be enough to make me gag!

I once bought a box of chocolate malteser looking things abroad. Started chewing one they were filled with what tasted like neat vodka :(

WestieMamma · 01/10/2013 20:38

Coffee flavoured chocolate is the best. On that basis YABU. Had you been concerned about people inadvertantly eating liqueur chocolates or marzipan ones, you would of course be entirely reasonable.

Heartbrokenmum73 · 01/10/2013 20:39

Another vote for coffee here too! My absolute favourite - have to fight my Dad for them.

We never forgave Cadbury's for taking them out of Roses - and they've only gone and put them back this year - we are beyond ourselves with joy (me and my Dad, not the Royal we).

dingit · 01/10/2013 20:40

Bit like revels, I always eat a coffee one, yuk.

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 01/10/2013 20:40

OMG, you might eat a strawberry cream by mistake! YANBU.

Doodledumdums · 01/10/2013 20:40

Eugh! That is outrageous! Have you called David Cameron yet? While you are at it, can you just ask that coffee flavoured confectionery in general is outlawed? Vile flavour!

craftynclothy · 01/10/2013 20:40

Yanbu. You must complain at once and ask for a coffee free box

NachoAddict · 01/10/2013 20:40

You should co sider sueing for trauma.

I can smell coffee or Turkish delight before they get to my mouth.

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 01/10/2013 20:41

Life is like a box of chocolates you never know which one your are going to get.

BellaVita · 01/10/2013 20:41

Ewwwww I hate coffee chocs! Yanbu.

thegraduand · 01/10/2013 20:42

It's like Revels roulette, but with posh chocs. Just had a cherry one that I didn't really like either, I was hoping for raspberry. It's just cruel to not tell you what they are. I beginning to think it was designed by those people that won't let you start on the second layer of chocolates until you've finished the first one

I think coffee and chocolate go so well I don't know why it's so hated!

Espresso Green&Blacks is brilliant.

KittyLilith · 01/10/2013 20:42

Coffee sweets in roses again? About time. OP YANBU but it's so I can rescue all the coffee chocs from those on whom they are wasted. [Grin]

KittyLilith · 01/10/2013 20:43

Gah Grin stupid phone

Heartbrokenmum73 · 01/10/2013 20:43

Right. That's it. I'm going on Facebook with one of those placards about how I am being persecuted (by the masses) for loving coffee chocolates.

I am the 1%!!!

MadameJosephine · 01/10/2013 20:43

Yadnbu! I hate coffee in any form but to ruin perfectly good chocolate with it shouldn't be allowed

iklboo · 01/10/2013 20:43

Praline is evil. As is Turkish delight. Bleurgh.

growingbytheday · 01/10/2013 20:44

Look at my user name...
send them to memememem!

sapphirestar · 01/10/2013 20:44

Don't even get me started on those that do include a map, but put it on the BOTTOM of the sodding box!

Binkyridesagain · 01/10/2013 20:44

YANBU, the only 2 chocolates I do not like are coffee and Turkish delight, they should be banned!

Complain, at times like these twitter and FB are your friend.

MunchMunch · 01/10/2013 20:46

YANBU

you have my deepest sympathies for eating a disgusting coffee chocolate. They should be banned Envy (that's an ill face btw.)

My poor brother made the mistake when he was little of saying he liked the coffee sweets so that's all the poor bugger was allowed Grin

pianodoodle · 01/10/2013 20:47

DH's family do the "touching the bottom layer until the top's gone" rule.

Even with boxes of crackers. Like I'm going to chew my way through 6 digestives just so I can have a cheese thin from the bottom Grin

pianodoodle · 01/10/2013 20:48

"No touching", even.

thegraduand · 01/10/2013 20:48

Munch your poor brother, my childhood was like that, but with toffees, I was never allowed an orange or strawberry cream from the Quality St tin until I was an adult as they were for my sister. I'm beginning to think there were some serious chocolate related issues in my childhood Grin

My brother was given a box of Roses at work last week (hence my knowledge of the new varieties - there's a truffle that's nice too) and my parents sat and had a discussion about which one was the coconut. Dad 'it's the blue one'. Me 'no, that's Quality Street, there's no coconut in Roses'. Mum (completely ignoring me) 'I thought it was the blue one but it's not on the sheet'. Me 'that's because the blue one in ROSES is a caramel, a toffee, coconut is the blue one in QUALITY STREET'. Dad 'are you sure it's not the blue one?'. Me 'why not effing try an effing blue one and effing see if it's effing coconut or effing toffee!!!!'. The last bit was actually a lot more polite but I really felt like saying it.
