There is frequent and open mockery of anyone who says anything vaguely intelligent. eg Edmund Elephant is a show off clever clogs if he tries to explain gravity. Daddy Pig's job is also seen as unbelievably dull because it involves writing numbers on a board. There are more examples but I am too pregnant to remember them.

DS is ill today and I have watched about a million episodes of PP so I speak with some authority but may also just be reacting to the enforced wall-to-wall Pig. IABU?

Btw I can't see any anti-intellectualism in Peppa Pig. Edmund Elephant himself tends to proudly explain "I'm a cleverclogs!" when he stunned some adult with his expert knowledge, see for example 'Grampy Rabbit's dinosaur park'.
The simplified explanation of Daddy Pig's work might be given either in order not to confuse the audience (of children), or because Daddy Pig is modest about his achievements?
As to Miss Rabbit, I think she looooves all her jobs!

Dd got all.emotional today at the rabbit babies episode. She turned,.with tears in her eyes and a wobbly chin and said "robbie rabbit new baby" - 21mo!! Bless.

Miss Rabbit hasn't got loads of jobs. There are loads of Miss Rabbits because rabbits breed like rabbits.

I thought miss rabbit does have loads of jobs, it's just the two sisters: mummy rabbit and miss rabbit. When miss rabbit injured her foot it took three people to do her jobs did the day!

I never used to mind Susie until she branded peppa a chatterbox and basically bullied her into silence. BITCH. My mint sauce has your name all over it.

Oh and miss rabbit has THE worse voice ever... Until you realise They cast the same one for nanny plum. No escape!

I have been humbled by this thread. There is so much about PP that I don't know. DS has only got into recently. It can only be a matter of time before I am a true expert unfortunately.

I may stand corrected on anti-intellectualism but totally agree Daddy Pig gets a rough time of it with all the 'silly Daddy Pig' business.

I have a soft spot for Pedro Pony too. Like me he is frequently late and loses his train tickets.

I know she's a pig so that perhaps explains it, but I wish Peppa would get her bloody adenoids sorted out. She sounds like she is perpetually getting over a cold.

DD has starting saying 'oh', in that slightly whiney way Peppa does when she doesn't get what she wants. It's incredibly slightly grating.

Im on my 3rd child now who loves pp. So, have in total had 6 years of it. I do think of myself as a bit of an expert of the show!

Peppa's voice has progressively got more annoying over the different series. The originals are the best. The new ones are just too smug.

The saddest example of daddy pig's EA was when Peppa, Mummy Pig and George were all giggling and not letting Daddy Pig in the tree house unless he said the magic words - "Daddy's fat tummy" poor Daddy Pig.

That rabbit has to be minted.. she owns loads of businesses.

Personally I think they should make an episode where they're all a pile of bacon sandwiches at the end. I detest the dammed thing that much. Spoilt little bastard.

I watched an episode last week where Daddy Pig was so fat and so unfit and there was a mock-Sportacuscharacter there with his press ups. Daddy Pig got one over him in the end though

We pondered the other day the complexity that is Madame Gazelle. Did they want a french character and think mme Gazelle is the best name, or was she already a Gazelle and they added the french? And the mme rather than Miss.

Daddy pig is an architect, he built the house for the wolf family. Dh loves that episode because daddy wolf Alexander Armstrong asks what the pigs house is made of.

Peppa or Petta pig as ds2 calls it has taught him to put an r in words like sand, castle, glasses, etc.

He is also a big fan of Ben and holly. We have nick jr. On a lot in this house.

I love the episode when they get stuck in a traffic jam, so decide to take a short cut- drive all round the houses and then end up exactly where they started, with Grandpa Pig (I think) giving them a cheery-'Welcome back' Tis a classic.

I preferred Wa Wa Wubsy actually. But DC both too old for either now.

Definitely only one Miss Rabbit - in Miss Rabbit's Day Off she injures her ankle and Mummy Rabbit, Daddy Pig and Grandad Dog take over her three jobs for the day (best line: "Daddy! Why are you buying an ice cream??"). And in The Queen, Miss Rabbit receives the award for industry for being the hardest working person.

I love the one in the aquarium where you see her in scuba gear cleaning the tank, they go to the next room and she's at the till in the shop. And dripping wet!

If daddy pig was an architect he would have designed the house surely? He's more of a structural engineer. An architect designs and an engineer specifies so because daddy pig has books about concrete he is an engineer.
