I like it too Smile, treated myself to a new cover so feels like a new phone.

weregonnaneedasmallerPan · 21/09/2013 17:37

How do you close the apps please? On the old system it was a dble click on the button and holding a finger on the showing apps whilst they danced and you could close them from there. But not now. Anyone?

RustyBear · 21/09/2013 17:42

Double click on the button and you get all your open apps across the screen - not just the icons, but the actual screen in miniature. You can scroll thought them and tap on one to go back to it, or flick it up to close it.

prettybird · 21/09/2013 17:44

It's apparently a swipe across and? upwards. If you google "how to close apps in iOS 7" you'll find some good articles. There was a good one in the Telegraph with tips.

Beechview · 21/09/2013 17:46

I've downloaded it to my iphone. I'm ok with it. Lots of good stuff but Siri sounds crap.

Ra88 · 21/09/2013 18:34

Love :)

KatoPotato · 21/09/2013 18:51

Siri does sound muffled, nothing to do with using it more!

CuppaTeaForTheBigFella · 21/09/2013 20:49

I've just downloaded it on to my iPad. When I try and scroll the page up from the bottom, that quick screen pops up, can I get rid of that?

TootsFroots · 21/09/2013 21:04

Tsk tsk. You shouldnt judge it quite so quickly, give it a few days at least... Hmm

The issues with rapid battery depletion that some people have had may just be due to all the apps updating?? >

There are plenty of other sites giving info on this too but I thought the advice in the link given above is nice and straightforward.

So far, I quite like IOS7 but I won't ever admit it as I still haven't forgiven Apple for dumping google maps. I know I can use Streetview on other apps but it's just not the same Sad

Glittertwins · 21/09/2013 21:21

Google maps has been back on the App Store for ages ;)

ihearsounds · 21/09/2013 21:22

Yes google maps.
However, go onto the map app that comes as standard. Select two random locations. Click 3D and then Hybrid.. Gives you a street view with traffic if you select the traffic option.

TootsFroots · 21/09/2013 21:24

It's not the same though... I want the original full screen intergrated one Sad

23balloons · 21/09/2013 22:00

Thank you TootsFroots very informative I have updated my settings :)

WingDefence · 21/09/2013 22:26

Well I've upgraded my iPad and my iPhone 4 now. Not everything is available on my phone eg the dynamic wallpapers and it's really slowed everything up but I like it in general.

The only thing I'm not sure about is the new calendar views. I'm sure I used to have mine in weekly and now I can't but I may be imaging it. I didn't use list or day view on my phone and now it seems I'll have to?

And for the person who asked upthread why people have Apple and not android phones, the main reason for my DH and I is because we have got hundreds (if not thousands) of albums stored in iTunes and we use all our Apple products for music. It would be a nightmare I think to convert everything to another format/re-rip all our CDs.

Oh, and we like Apple :)

I don't need a few days to understand that it's fugly :)

WingDefence · 21/09/2013 22:51

And Thanks Toots for that link. I thought I'd gone through and found most of those sneaky setting but missed that one.

RustyBear · 21/09/2013 23:06

CuppaTea - the quick access screen only pops up if you start your scrolling right at the bottom of the page. If you don't touch the very bottom of the screen, it won't appear.

Mirai, it used to do that with the previous iOS but more randomly, not every time. Even more annoying ime because you weren't expecting it.

Glittertwins · 22/09/2013 06:59

Mirai, that's pretty much my problem too only I think you have explained it better. Everything vanishes and I am logged out of here for example. This never happened with the version of safari that is still on the other iPad

I have tried searching online and can't find the problem reported anywhere or a fix :(
