So I was just at an induction and was to be fair, probably the oldest one there so the rest of them tended to congregate together and only one made the effort to include me. Not a problem.

But one of the women/girls kept looking at me and sniggering. I told myself I was being paranoid but it was becomming really obvious. Her friend then looked over and looked back at her to ask what she was laughing at. The girl then whispered (honestly) something to her and they both burst out laughing Shock. I let it go but I was starting to get a bit upset and angry at this point. Minutes later the girl came over to me and said "sorry about before, I wasn't laughing at you, it was something else." I just said "ok no worries" and she then pulled out her mobile and said "do you mind if I take a quick picture of you? I'll delete it afterwards." I asked what for and she said she'd text her boyfriend to say I really looked like Peter Griffin and he didn't believe her so had asked for a photo.

I told her she was offending me and asked her to leave me alone or I'd report her. She was sweet as pie from there on but I feel so down now. I'm home now and I can't get it out of my head. I'll be working with her next week too which just makes it even worse.

Sorry for the namechange but I am embarrassed by it all. :(

OP posts:
trixymalixy · 18/09/2013 19:06

Oh you poor thing. She was a nasty little bitch. I would report her too.

Helpyourself · 18/09/2013 19:09

That's heartbreaking.
OP I'd rather be you than her and I would be devestated if my dds ever said anything like that.

monicalewinski · 18/09/2013 19:09

Horrible, nasty, ignorant little girl. Please ignore and report her, and don't give it any more of your headspace.

KnitFastDieWarm · 18/09/2013 19:15

What a pathetic individual...if I'd didn't know better I'd think you were talking about a ten year old, not an adult! She sounds like the kind of sad person who still has the social skills of a spiteful kid. Too pathetic and silly for words.

Silly cow. Report her, then treat her with the cool, calm contempt she deserves.

fabergeegg · 18/09/2013 19:16

That's appalling. It's very sad that there are people in the world with so little empathy or breeding. I'm sorry you had to go through that. She won't get very far in life with such woeful interpersonal skills.

We all look like somebody. Imagine what famous people have to read about themselves each day. I have a horror of seeing my face in caricature...

FutTheShuckUp · 18/09/2013 19:17

Wtaf? Not only does she sound vile she sounds completely mentally disturbed. Who on earth in any job would think behaviour like that is in anyway appropriate or normal?

KittensoftPuppydog · 18/09/2013 19:18
Angry
NationMcKinley · 18/09/2013 19:21

What a foul, immature, spiteful cock weasel she is! You handled it beautifully, OP, be proud of herself. This will go two ways for that nasty girl:

  1. she'll end up fucking up royally
  2. she'll grow up and be mortified and ashamed of what a nasty piece of work she was and be haunted by that realisation.

Not great either way Wink.

2lbs is fantastic, well done Flowers and unmumsnetty {hug} and x

beatofthedrum · 18/09/2013 19:33

What a nasty bully. Unacceptable anywhere but at a place of work she would be disciplined. Report her. What a horrendous person she must be, am genuinely Shock

ipswichwitch · 18/09/2013 19:36

What an absolute asshole. OP you responded with dignity which sadly she wouldn't have a clue about. Don't let such a thoughtless twat derail your diet - you've done brilliantly so far. She doesn't deserve that much of your headspace

HairyGrotter · 18/09/2013 19:40

I'm dumbfounded by this...what the fuck dragged her up? Her social skills are null and void, she has no grasp on how to behave in public!!!

Report her, she needs teaching on how to behave as an appropriate adult!

BornOfFrustration · 18/09/2013 19:41

What a bitch, and I never call women that. I'd see how she is next week and report her if she continues to be a nasty cow. Thanks for you.

BrianTheMole · 18/09/2013 19:42

Oh op, please report her, you can't let her do this to you.

Tabliope · 18/09/2013 19:44

I'm another astounded at the level of bitchiness and cruelty. What is she, 8? Treat her with the contempt and disdain she deserves. Hope she gets what's coming to her soon, something that wipes the smile off her face. Unbelievable.

SugarHut · 18/09/2013 19:45

Disgusting. I hope you're ok. And you should absolutely make this clear to a senior member of staff in case she's planning on making this a long running joke. It's bullying, plain and simple. Hideous little cow.

catgirl1976 · 18/09/2013 19:46

Spiteful little mare

Report her.

What a vile person she must be

Sockywockydoodah · 18/09/2013 19:47

Nasty.

yegodsandlittlefishes · 18/09/2013 19:49

OP, there is no excuse for her behaviour, but don't let that get you down, give up on your diet, or behave badly when you next see her. Report her and let the people running the induction deal with her.

Thanks

And well done on the diet and losing some weight, I am trying to as well and know how hard it is!

ThePuffyShirt · 18/09/2013 19:50

What a cruel and nasty person.

I can't imagine what sort of upbringing she must have had if that's how she carries on.

Floggingmolly · 18/09/2013 19:51

Report her; bullying in the workplace is a disciplinary offence.
She sounds spectacularly thick as well as pig ignorant.

WandaDoff · 18/09/2013 19:53

She is an atrocious cunt.

Have some Wine and Cake

hermioneweasley · 18/09/2013 19:57

OP, well done on your diet. Do not give her power over your you wish to continue losing weight.

I work in HR and would absolutely want to know about an incident like this - I would regard it as extremely serious.

maidmarian2012 · 18/09/2013 19:57

I get strangers asking me if I'm Sonia from Eastenders!!

You must be really upset at this OP, those girls were dreadfully immature and rude. Silly girls.

samuraispider · 18/09/2013 19:58

People never cease to amaze me.

She should thank her lucky stars it was you and not me as I think I'd have decked her.
