Surely , you finish your bath/shower and remove the bottles and out them back on shelf/ledge

You do not leave then on the sie of the bath

I leave stuff on the side of the bath because there is no more space on the window sill I don't have a shelf!

BMW6 · 18/08/2013 01:17

FFS nooooo ........ life is much too short to be moving this shit around!

Wherever it (whatever it is) ends up is the place that it needs to be, yes?

BMW6 · 18/08/2013 01:18

..... Unless it is the toilet seat, which MUST be down..........

catsmother · 18/08/2013 01:18

I personally agree that all manner of bottles left lying about on the edge of the bath looks exceptionally cheap and nasty.

Our solution to this problem is to conveniently hide them all away inside a nice 'bag for life' from Lidl which is then tastefully displayed upon a heavy duty nail we banged into the tiles above the taps (you really can't notice the resultant crack much). We ring the changes at Christmas and add some upmarket festive cheer by substituting the Lidl bag with a special one from Morrisons wot 'as a fancy cake on it.

No-one is subjected to unsightly toiletries in my bathroom!

I think I'm going to get some playmobil people and boats to accompany my artistically arranged bottles of shampoo/conditioner/shower gel :o

ChaosTrulyReigns · 18/08/2013 01:55

This is the best way to avoid unsightly bathroom clitter.

RustyBear · 18/08/2013 01:55

I don't have bottles of shampoo. My Karma solid shampoo from Lush is in a blue glass bowl on the end of the bath. Is that OK, OP?

HMG83 · 18/08/2013 02:13

Mental!

School holidays.......?

Mouserama · 18/08/2013 03:31

Euphemia - my DH hangs the toilet roll that way. I have to obsessively change it whenever I see it. It's just wrong and my slight OCD tendencies just won't allow the toilet roll to be hung in anyway EXCEPT the right way Grin

Want2bSupermum · 18/08/2013 03:48

Oh good lord. I never thought about this but we have a tension rod in the far corner with three shelves. Everything goes in that or my daughter would probably be farting bubbles by now given all the soap she has eaten.

shufflehopstep · 18/08/2013 03:50

I leave stuff on the side of the bath as I don't have a shelf by my bath. It looks more untidy on the window ledge - particularly from the outside. Also, my bathroom window is south facing so when it's sunny, the bottles would just heat up. And if you move them, you have to dry the bottles rather than just letting them drain. Those minutes of my life that I'm doing this unnecessary thing will add up and I'm never going to get them back again.

MrsEdinburgh · 18/08/2013 06:07

I have a shelf, a window ledge & a cupboard........
I have a problem making decisions......

Ifancyashandy · 18/08/2013 06:43

Apologies Honey and Mindyourown, I was having a soak in a bath filled with bubbles from Laura Mercier (pistacio bath creme. Divine, you simply must try it!) What was that, I missed the question as my head was under the silky smooth water...

We dont have shelves

Or loo roll holders. Hate them

Cheesyslice · 18/08/2013 08:27

The side of the bath IS my shelf.

You are nuts.

waltzingmathilda · 18/08/2013 08:36

^affects mock shock"

Shelves? so common?

Don't you put them back in the cupboard?

ipswichwitch · 18/08/2013 08:44

We can't put the bottles on the window sill. They'll fall out the window when I open it (clumsy), land on the car, explode and splotter the car so that DH thinks the birds with nice smelling poo have used the car for target practice...... again.

Also, I calculated that in my lifetime I have saved a total of 6 minutes and 37 seconds by keeping toiletries in easy reach on the side of the bath. Just think what I could do with all that time....

youmeatsix · 18/08/2013 08:47

well from reading this i now know NONE of my friends post on MN. We have no bottles/razors etc out in either bathroom, all in a cupboard right next to the shower and bath. Makes cleaning SO much easier and looks a whole lot nicer. i laughed at the poster saying why would you put it away if you will use it 12 hours later, do you apply that logic to EVERYTHING?? i clean the shower and bath everyday, i have to, they get a lot of use, does everyone move the clutter everyday and clean? My washing up liquid lives in a pump bottle under the sink as well Grin

Campari · 18/08/2013 09:07

I have a butler who pours my Jo Malone bath oil.

He then retires back to the servant's quarters, until I ring a bell when I have finished bathing. He then returns with a freshly pressed hot towel.
