Surely , you finish your bath/shower and remove the bottles and out them back on shelf/ledge

You do not leave then on the sie of the bath

Son - That is where the shampoo goes, on the bath, any of you that think its not is mad.

I keep my cloth for cleaning the bath on one end and my shampoo, conditioners (one in a bottle another in a pot) and hairwash jug for the kids on the other.

The shelf is where I display my flannel, face oil, razor, foot file and mooncup.

FacebookWanker · 17/08/2013 22:23

SPB you have just made me laugh until I couldn't talk Grin Grin Grin

whattodoo · 17/08/2013 22:24

But it's OK to drape the flannels over the side of the bath isn't it?

DrDance · 17/08/2013 22:24

that was my son taking over my posts!!!!!!!

he left the shampoo and shower gel on the bath and they left rings of gloop

I lather myself clean with my own urine. Your question of concern dost not therefore compute. Hope you achieve a satisfactory resolution to your question.

LizzyDay · 17/08/2013 22:25

I bet you hide your washing up liquid in a secret location miles from the sink too, don't you.

And your kettle in the oven.

elQuintoConyo · 17/08/2013 22:26

Eh? What shelf? Is it something posh people have?

I do have a toilet dolly, my DM knitted her dress for me, in Barça colours Grin

^^ I'm not joking!

jacks365 · 17/08/2013 22:27

Easier to clean off the bath than a shelf

BeaWheesht · 17/08/2013 22:28

Euphemia. - you've just made me shudder looking at that limk

YouTheCat · 17/08/2013 22:30

I have a teen. I have no shelf. The window sill is full of vital teen type stuff so the only place left is on the side of the bath.

elQuintoConyo · 17/08/2013 22:30

OP you would get on well with my freak of an ex partner who was incredibly controlling very tidy and insisted that all toiletries were kept in a cupboard. However he wouldn't have the cupboard in the bathroom as it would spoil the not moved in yet minimalist look of the house, so I had to carry soap, shampoo, toothpaste etc. back and forth from the bedroom every day.

happydutchmummy · 17/08/2013 22:32

I'm on team DrDance. It's just easier to keep the bath looking clean and tidy and avoids disgusting soap scum rings from the bottles! My oh however doesn't grasp this concept and never puts the stuff he's used back on the shelf (I'm amazed at the number of people on mumsnet who survive without bathroom shelves).

So DrDance I'm with you! You're welcome to pop round for a wash whenever you like....

I keep mine round the bath. If you place them very strategically it hides any dodgy looking grout :)

DrDance · 17/08/2013 22:35

NO I just want them on a shelf when your finished with them

It's not hard ...move the bottle and put it on a shelf

OP posts:
Ifancyashandy · 17/08/2013 22:37

Oh god. I am the OP. All toiletries get put back in the cupboard after using. Nothing except the Elemis is out. Minimalist, spotless & white single, child free bathroom here. With warmth provided by pale grey towels and Diptyque candles...

SupermansBigRedPants · 17/08/2013 22:38

Oh yes, can't do witjout it, If only I still fitted in had fancy knickers to put in it gordy Grin

littlewhitebag · 17/08/2013 22:41

My shower is separate from my bath. I keep bubble bath on the side of the bath and my other shit on purpose built alcoves in the shower:one for me and one for DH. I is well posh.

SueDoku · 17/08/2013 22:41

You have a shelf - luxury....! Grin

jumpingpillows · 17/08/2013 22:41

do you keep toaster in cupboard too?

littlewhitebag · 17/08/2013 22:41

Where the fuck did that smiley come from

TalkativeJim · 17/08/2013 22:43

But, he said ledge

Ledge ledge

A ledge is kind of like an accidental shelf isn't it.

OP, how old is your son? Nobody under about 40 should be using the word ledge really.
