Wouldn't want to eat in your house.

Obviously YABU.

KellyElly · 15/08/2013 13:40

MN gets a bit hysterical about wee germs.

MrsKwazii · 15/08/2013 13:40

No it's not terrible. Just incredibly unhygienic. Wash your hands lazybones!

Tweasels · 15/08/2013 13:41

Have you got children? To be honest, if I lived alone I wouldn't but I don't trust those little fuckers to wipe their arses properly before flushing.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure I trust DH either.

miffybun73 · 15/08/2013 13:41

YABU, that's revolting.

Unless you are ill, how can you be too tired to be bothered to wash your hands ? Confused

FluffedUpFerretOnSteroids · 15/08/2013 13:41

There are many people who smell and only shower weekly that's shanky. that was my phone changing it and I didn't notice

KellyHopter · 15/08/2013 13:43

Just wait, all the toilet skanks will be along soon. There was a thoroughly disappointing thread about this a while back.
There's bloody LOADS of them. The excuses (particularly for not washing in public loos) were ridiculous.
It's fucking lazy and filthy and bollocks do you (all of you dirty buggers) make the effort after a poo. Bollocks.

GoodTouchBadTouch · 15/08/2013 13:43

OP I don't either. I clean my loos obviously. I touch the flush but I don't touch the loo seat, its always up.

I am never ever sick, and the children only rarely.

FluffedUpFerretOnSteroids · 15/08/2013 13:44

Skanky worse

miffybun73 · 15/08/2013 13:44

Hang on. Does anyone here really only shower weekly? I can see if you are depressed, physically incapable etc., but otherwise., Why ?

expatinscotland · 15/08/2013 13:44

Yuk.

ReturnofSaturn · 15/08/2013 13:46

Yanbu. I'm the same to be honest and yes I may even go make drinks and food afterwards. Never seemed to have caused a problem or made me I'll Grin

FluffedUpFerretOnSteroids · 15/08/2013 13:46

I know people who have admitted only showering weekly

OP posts:
Feminine · 15/08/2013 13:46

Well I suppose if its just a wee and you then always wash your hands before preparing food etc...its a bit okay.

I just don't see why you can't wash them? takes 2 secs !

destructogirl · 15/08/2013 13:46

This thread has reminded me I need to clean the loo.
Should I wash my hands after doing that?

ShatnersBassoon · 15/08/2013 13:47

You're better off washing your hands often. No doubt about it. Whether you regard it as protecting others from your germs or protecting yourself from others' germs, you really should be doing it a few times a day. Going to the loo is an ideal time to do it as the sink is right there next to you, so do it then.

belleandsebastian · 15/08/2013 13:47

Nice!

GoodTouchBadTouch · 15/08/2013 13:47

Yeah, cos only showering weekly is ok if you are depressed... Whatever.. its lazy.

LouiseD29 · 15/08/2013 13:49

Yes, YABU! It's really not that much effort, is it? Or are you trying to save money on soap?

usualsuspect · 15/08/2013 13:50

This will turn into a competitive showering thread.

BooCanary · 15/08/2013 13:50

Very occasionally I get up for a wee in the night, half asleep in the dark, and I either flush the toilet with my foot and don't wash my hands or don't even bother flushing if I think it's a time when it might wake the DCs up (anytime after 4).

Bizarrely the rest of the time I am anal (Grin) about hygiene/handwashing.

FluffedUpFerretOnSteroids · 15/08/2013 13:51

I wash my hands often and always before making something, its not often that I'm too lazy too, but I still just think what's the point

OP posts:
miffybun73 · 15/08/2013 13:51

GoodTouchBadTouch - I only said the bit about being ill or depressed to stop everyone of accusing me of being insensitive, judgemental etc. to those who were depressed, ill, couldn't afford the water bill, etc. etc. the list of reasons is probably endless.

destructogirl · 15/08/2013 13:52

Bloody hell, flush with your foot? I'd probably fall over Grin

Mumsyblouse · 15/08/2013 13:52

The thing that has made the biggest difference to me in stopping me getting hundreds of colds every year has been increasing hand-washing - I wash my hands especially in winter everywhere I can and really get the soap everywhere. One of mine can't use soap and even she washes her hands in water vigorously. Hands are the main transmission vehicle for viruses. It's not a big deal to avoid bathing/showering daily if you like to smell and I don't make my children have a bath/shower every day, but I do make them wash their hands before eating and after using the toilet.

Why do people on these threads always claim their kids are hardly ill, I don't know any children or adults who never get colds/flu/vomiting viruses in winter, even if they are generally quite hardy.
